For the ones thinking "why I can't bring back my foot", 4:34 Joe brings his knee first, then the foot opening the hip, the second and third are full rotations with the hip open.
This guy is a full time coach, martial artist, teacher and Glory commentator, and he STILL manages to uploads vids every week. What have YOU done today ?
Great video as always. The way you talk about the feeling of weight transfer and generating force is really helpful. Could you possibly do a video on your stretching routine?
Hey question? Regarding the rotation on the lead leg, the heel hitting the ground after the kick making it more difficult to get back into our stance, does that regard hitting a bag or shadow boxing? I find it difficult to snap my leg back into defensive stance while shadow boxing. I’m assuming I need more practice and i really appreciate your guidance. Hope all is well with this isolation thing, thanks for the quarantine exercise it’s made a difference.
Unsolicited tip for Troy in the video. Around 5:30 he foot flops at the very end of the kick on the point of contact. Super simple fix - work flexing and pointing the toes and keeping the foot tight in the air, then move to consciously making sure the foot does not "un-point" on impact. The added concentration on form and technique will help keep better leg control regardless of where you decide to go after the impact of the kick. Great videos and kudos to your assistants for participating and helping you film. Keep up the great work!
Bazooka Joe. I know you advised not to reach when stepping and kicking, you advised us to stand tall and spin around our plant leg. How do you feel about leaning in to a kick though? You're less able to return back to starting stance or adjust in flight kicking this way but, I feel as though you can create a little more force. It makes sense that the idea is a little too complicated to go over in this video. So, it's just a different way to kick (pro's and con's) but would you go as far as saying that you wouldn't recommend it. Thank you as always! Devan Reed - All Around Movement - Dunedin Florida
since you said you will start with the "strongest" kick i will also share the concept I use for "strongest kick" mainly keeping the heel on the ground because the raised heel creates a spring type of mechanics which keeps the force ( impulse momentum ) from transferring correctly at the moment of impact my point is not that the lifting heel is certainly weak but rather that no matter how strong your kick is with lifting the heel it will be stronger with the more stable structure that keeping the heel on the ground gives
Awesome stuff Bazooka! Lovin' these videos

Great video! Embarrassing question here: Is it supposed to hurt very much when you kick a heavy bag? Or did I just do it wrong...
Yes it will always hurt
@@MikeDrew312 Thank you for replying 😁 it’s been 7 months since I started working on heavy bag. The pain is getting more and more endurable.
@@Alex-gc7yv Same! 🥲 LOL
Finally! Thanks!
Can you touch on how straight or bent to keep the kicking leg and when to hit full extension?
Thank you so much

thanks a lot love your vedios
When u block with your back leg, what part of the leg do you use? Shin or outside of back leg? Also , do u land kicks high with inside of foot or top?

hey Joe did you ever get to fight in Thailand or in a Muay Thai match against a Thai ???
Is Troy landing with his instep? It appears that he is but i can't tell if it's just the angle or speed and angle...
These vids always make me want to go pound on my garage bag
Aren't you supposed to initiate the movement by turning out the lead foot in order to open up the hips?
I'm confused. When I throw the kick am I supposed to throw my weight forward or upwards?
Which part of the leg should be used to kick perfrctly?
@Christine Felice in English plz
Instep or lower shin
Yes!
Great teacher
Why the fuck are his views decreasing
just noticed he looks like beefed up Marco Rubio.
tiesto
Why is none of you 3 turnig the hips over on your kicks? The guy on the bag isn't pivoting at all..
