    Beware as these only work with the smaller hole diameter discs - normal sized agle grinder discs have too large a centre hols.

    My collection of half eaten cutting disks have finally found a use. Thanks Rob

      I'm now having serious major regret symptoms for all those cutting/grinding disc dregs I've thrown out in the past.
      What was I thinking ?

      xynudu i hang on to everything. I think its called itllcomeinhandy1day syndrome. Even broken hacksaw blades. Made a pair of hacksaw blade tweezers for getting swarf splinters out of my fingers. Gotta love recycling what most people see as rubbish. Keep up the good work Rob

      Hi John,
      I know the feeling. Simple tooling like this just wasn't cheaply available years ago.
      Throw in a cheap lathe and you can go berserk with this stuff for very little cash.
      Cheers Rob

    Excellent review Robbie. Thank's for sharing. If I may make a very small suggestion when you were showing the run out, to help better see the run out, maybe just lay-down a common sheet of white paper. The brown disc kinda gets lost against the backdrop of the oil soaked wood table top. Nothing to do with the focus of the camera, just plain old brown against black background. In my opinion just doesn't work. You are the premiere bargain hunter, and again you nailed it here. Now for my favorite Aussie expression: She be right mate. :-)

      Hi Dave,
      It's a camera issue.
      I'm best off when I use the grey leather welding apron as a back ground. The problem with white backgrounds is that my camera stops down severely and the colours go murky and contrast goes weird, so that's why I use the dark bench top.
      I always keep it in mind when filming white stuff, even my white hands can cause it.
      It's an excellent camera apart from that.
      Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
      Cheers Rob

    You've NEVER had a disc shatter? You must have a very steady hand. Lucky you. It's good for quite a startle. I broke 2 or 3 in my lifetime so far, mostly when I first started using them.

    • @Xynudu
      @Xynudu  6 років тому

      No never. I've had discs tear up the cutting edge on thin metal, but no disc shattering. For that to occur you would have to bang the disc in too hard, or twist it out of alignment.

      the ultra thin cutting discs look about as strong as paper, so its probably them, ive never used them, just the standard (thicker) cutting discs

    • @Xynudu
      @Xynudu  6 років тому

      The runout in the disc disappeared as the speed increased and radial inertia came into effect.
      I agree the disc looks pretty fragile in that diameter. The 75 mm discs I use in a similar thickness show minimal runout in comparison.

    Can’t criticise this disk mandrel for the price Banggood sell it for Rob.
    It’s an Aladdin’s cave for an Engineer. Have bought a number of items recently from site and all have been good quality for the price. In this case you get more than you pay for.

      Hi Tracey,
      Yes, the DIY guys have never had it so good. Not everything is perfect, but at least it's affordable.
      I get a few complaints about reviewing the Banggood stuff, but it's a major influence on the workshop and has a lot to offer. Most other workshop channels also feature similar products, so it's not just me.
      Haters will have to move with the times or choose not to watch.
      Thanks for the positive feedback.
      Cheers Rob

    The problem I have is that cutoff wheels will not tighten on my angle grinder. After tightening the four-hole arbor nut as much as possible the cut off wheel still spins freely.
    What to use to adapt cutoff wheels on an angle grinder?

    • @Xynudu
      @Xynudu  4 роки тому

      Sounds like the discs are too thin or the clamping disc faces are worn from slippage. Add a washer under the clamping nut or machine/ grind back the center section on the nut a bit and it should grip again. Cheers Rob

    Bit of contradiction ?
    You summarised all the discs were OK.
    in fact it was the Bangor disc that first made you look at the runout I think.

    • @Xynudu
      @Xynudu  6 років тому +3

      Well picked up Steve.
      When I edited the video I had to put the disc scenes out of order a bit due to a filming glitch. It was over 35C today and I didn't want to shoot that bit again, so it's slightly contradictory.
      It's more of the same weather currently. 38C again for the next three days. It's a real ordeal trying to work in these conditions. Lucky any videos get shot at all.
      Cheers Rob

    Rob, thanks again for another fine review. Now, as you clearly have some inroad to Banggood, can you treat your subscribers and viewers to a contact who will respond to problems such as incorrectly delivered parts, ultra long deliveries etc. Their website contacts just don't work for us mere mortals.

    • @Xynudu
      @Xynudu  6 років тому

      Hi John,
      I get treated like any other customer and just use the support Email if anything goes wrong. It seems to work OK for me.
      Same with the postal system, the order gets placed and just goes through the normal channels. I do buy stuff from BG as well and have only used support once when something went wrong. They seemed to respond as well as any Ebay experience I've had.
      I only have contact with the sales side, not support.
      Cheers Rob

    pity about it being m10 rather than m14, m10 discs are more expensive and less likely to be around here, we all have worn standard discs and ones out of date, this would have been a way to use them, make one for m14 guys!
