I listened to the programme as i always did and when it was announced that it was finishing for good (I'd been tipped off that it was going to do so,) i got a massive lump in the throat. When the Radio Two announcer said that that had been the last, Pick of the Pops, i as an eight year old, had visions of no more chart programmes on Sunday nigts ever again, and started to cry, which i did for the next hour. I'll never forget that awful Sunday but thank God for Tom Browne, ay.
