So glad you chose birthday as the word of the week. What else could it be. The only thing I was a bit miffed about, was that you didn't have a glass in your pocket for the birthday girl to drink from. Lady's never drink out of cans. But, I'm convinced you spoilt her rotten..! Happy Birthday Lady Z 🎉 🎂 💐 👏
Most educational and delightful posting you have ever dons. I'm the guy that suggested slik seam, not realizing that you were already aware of it. I apologize realizing that us wood boat guys think and find solutions pretty much alike
Peter, I enjoy your videos VERY MUCH! Your freehand skills are amazing. You are so imaginative and no problem seems to faze you. As an old wood shop teacher, my hero used to be Norm Abrams but now it’s you.
Nice work on the boat. Happy birthday to Lady "Z". Having met the lady once, I can attest that Peter's choice of ladies is spot on!. As to beer? Most likely that too! 😊
It happens to be a good friend of mine’s birthday today. What I learned this week- It never occurred to me that the insert plate of my table saw was not flat or perpendicular to the saw blade. Explains why a number of my cuts over the years were off. Cheers!
I second that, always a pleasure to watch your restoration efforts. Your lessons learned can be applied to my lessons to be learned. Thanks so much. Love BC waters.
Happy birthday to Ms Zephyrs! I hope she had a great time. As usual we are trilled with the fantastic jobs you do. Great show! Btw, please keep us posted when your buddys start the new UA-cam channel
Hello Peter, That repair is absolutely marvellous. It's taken well over a week, but I am now up to date with all your boat restoration videos. They've been a great pleasure. You mentioned you would like to repower MV Poem with a Beta 25. I have a Freeman 22 Mk 2 that is fitted with a very tired 997cc marinised Ford Anglia 105E engine. Rather than overhauling it, I am going to replace it with a transom mounted Amaroq diesel outboard engine, which is equivalent with the 40 hp of the petrol inboard. This will give me more internal space & far greater range, but more importantly, no further need to hump heavy petrol cans from garages. Very best wishes, Perry
I had a 9v makita, that the chuck broke on. I took it to a makita service center in Kent Washington. They have a special high torque bench tool specially made for this purpose. It only took a few minutes while I waited. I doubt it will be as convenient for you, but that is the only trick. 🤘😎
If you every come to visit Amsterdam it would be an honor showing or taking you to the old Heineken brewery and or go to one of the many small breweries Netherland is rich off nowadays and do some proper beer tasting Peter!
Peter grab yourself a rubber malate so you aren't always needing to hammer wood with your hands. btw Looking forward to watching Scott and Henry's channel in the near future with their boat restoration, and them giving this ole boat some love, Thanks for sharing Peter. Good stuff..
Construction adhesive isn't a permanent fix, it has good grip properties in the short term but breaks down over time. Different ones have different lifespans but they can be anything from as little as 5 years up to a maximum of around 15yrs depending on environment and temperature conditions. If you don't use fasteners it will need re-gluing in time !
I love it, I love it, I love it! Your approach to making these difficult repairs seem possible is a joy to behold! Such fun to watch you do it step-by-step and see the beautiful result - so well done!!
Having just attended the Annapolis boat show and having met some absolutely wonderful people and seen some magnificent sailboats (and some horrors!) I feel like it is my birthday, although that was a few weeks ago. Thanks for the continuing excellent channel Peter and a very happy birthday to Lady Z! 🥳🎉🍰
Well I was going to give Lady Z my birthday wishes regardless of the “word of the week!” She is such a charming character and her little Finn, oh, adorable! What a super repair Peter, looks brand new, a, yeah, because it is!
I was taught PL Premium 3x was the way to go...by 6 old dudes in Bradenton FL! And the shear # of boats that they have built (lg & sm)puts them in the category identified as "professionals"! If not, certainly as seriously advanced "amateurs"! Ha Goodonyas!
What you refer to as a "tri-square", I've always known as a T-bevel and a tri-square is the old, fixed square where one side is wider with a rosewood insert and the other straight metal. Is that a West coast thing?
Not meaning to be picky or disrespectful but if I remember my seventh grade shop class I thought that tool was called a t-bevel. I may be mistaken it was sixty five years ago.
Hello Peter , I have a tool question . Your cordless Makita circular saw , does it run on 2 batteries ? I’ve been looking at the A-place and I can only find a cordless saw like yours with 2 batteries . I wrote the A-place because I believe that advertisers are tagging certain keywords to show their products . A bit paranoid but that’s me none the less .😊
Sumone should gift u a pair of pants...but not me...😢..bought a mikita 6520-21 heavy duty sawsaa GOODWILL...just to hav always wanted a sawsaa..must weigh 10 lbs..
Is it dutchmen or dutchmans? That is the question to pose on your birthday.I think you will be cancelled for your landlubbers construction shmoo. It's not traditional. Sealing the garboard with Sikoflex had them grumbling into their Coors.
Happy birthday to Lady Zephyrus!

Happy Birthday Lady Z!
It's not my first run around but it is seems to be the first time I've seen this video and that's sad cuz I never miss a video

It's always a pleasure to watch some one with both the skills and the right tools fix problems that would have totally frustrated me.
It happens to be a good friend of mine’s birthday today. What I learned this week- It never occurred to me that the insert plate of my table saw was not flat or perpendicular to the saw blade. Explains why a number of my cuts over the years were off. Cheers!
Love Tofino! And Happy B-Day, My Lady!
Congrats to Lady Z for surving another year on the planet good job on the sill and such.

Nice and well eddited. Compliments, it wasn't easy to beat the previous episodes, but I very much liked this one!
Fascinating repair!
Excellent work, Peter. You are such a magician with wood. Great to learn and see the patching up and keen to see ‘the other channel’, too.
I have done alot of work with table saws. That little guy you have is impressive. But of course the blades make ALL the difference in the world.
Peter stop making it look so simple 😂 keep the grate work up. Love the chanal
Another winner, I have also become a fan of construction adhesive. Happy Birthday Lady Z.

Great work Peter, enjoy watching you repairing your classic wooden boats.
I see you are using your hand as a hammer again. With each passing birthday, all that hammering will add up. Cheers, Brian in NPB

Anyone can break the 'rules'. It takes a lot of experience to know what rules can be safely broken.
