Resell valve was mentioned many times, and it is amazing how well some of Lexus’ popular models hold their value. My sister in law’s 2012 CT was written off last year due to hail damage (YYC), and she got $16800 from her insurance company. Her CT had 177,000 km, and still got about 50% of its original value back on a 8 years old vehicle.

I think this ‘could’ be such a hidden gem, that (without having ever been in an NX) I have recommended this SUV/CUV to a few family/friends to consider... without any hesitation. Thanks for another excellent overview.
I drive a 2019 NX hybrid. I was getting out of an RX, which rode beautifully but handled poorly. I shopped other vehicles. You nailed all the high points of the NX. Nice Lexus ride which is addicting once experienced. Sporty around town handling with adequate power and good fuel economy. Controls are clear and logical. Sharp looks without flashy accents. Add great lighting. Only miss is no lumbar support on the passenger seat which seems to be a trend in this price range.
People eventually gravitate towards reliable and value driven cars. That's why Lexus does so well compared to their European counterparts where they nickel and dime customers for even the basics - then to be left behind with a car that needs major repairs and a laughable resale value.

Love the styling of the NX300h including the imposing huge front grille, which by all accounts these days are all derivatives of the Audi Nuvolari design from years back. But for the near the top of the line F-Type, this car seriously overpriced with a bare interior. At that price point Toyota could have added some features which come standard on most models in its class, i.e, a digital instrument cluster and a bigger infotainment screen. The one they got on this one looks like somebody plunked their smartphone on the dash. The below 200hp offering is completely a deal breaker! Zack you are wrong! Andrea is correct about the button placement! I have owned a 2020 RAV4 for a few months, and you DON'T get used to the button placement! The heated steering wheel is too far under the dash so I still have to look down to find it. Your "muscle memory" can overcome poor ergonomics but why should you need to? But it does have heated windshield wiper parking spot so that is a bonus. And why have the hood release and the gas filler release right beside each other? I till have to bend down to be sure I'm picking the right one at fill up. Maybe to get you to check oil regularly? You know where to put it Zack....
When it came time to order a new car, it was between a Rav4 and a Venza for me. The feature I was looking to have but couldn't was a panoramic moonroof. The Limited Venza was out of reach for me and I wanted a roof I could open. I finally settled on an XSE Rav4 with a normal moonroof and I couldn't be happier...and I used CarCostCanada for a good deal. Do you think the Canadian factories will finally be able to install the panoramic moonroof in years to come?
Oh great, you made an excellent choice. I am disappointed the Venza doesn't come with the glass roof on the lower trims or at least the offering of a moonroof. As well, happy you used Car Cost Canada too.
Buttons for things should be put in logical spot where you don't have to search around, it just makes sense and you don't have to "get use to it" . Well that's my thought.
That's interesting that the black cladding around the vehicle has been removed for the Canadian market in favor of body-colored trim. In the US, you can't option the vehicle that way and I think it looks much more premium without the black cladding. I used to be a Lexus owner (IS 350 F-Sport) and recently moved to BMW (X2 M35i) because I couldn't stomach the direction the Lexus design team was going in nor the lack of innovation with carryover stale tech.

Lexus only uses leather on their highest trims. Most models use Nuluxe like Andrea mentioned 👆. The good thing about Nuluxe is that it looks great and its way more durable than leather.
Looks like most people got used to the Lexus front (didn't Audi start the trend?). I like the RC a lot. I am fine with the exposed bolts. I like the industrial look in general for cars and homes. Besides, a 4X4 can deal with a rugged look. Thank you for the review.

I like buying cars at the end of a long cycle run when they are often the most trouble free. However, this NX looks dated, and that's especially a problem for a luxury vehicle. When people are spending so much for a vehicle, they may want something that appeals emotionally, makes a statement, or is a "reward" for their work. I think this NX struggles in this regard. However, as you say, if there is a discount, it could be a great choice. The fuel efficiency is very good too.
Yes, if you can get a good deal on it and are okay with the interior, than why not. I will wait for the 2022 model because to me the interior looks dated.
I am not even interested in this vehicle but I always watch every Saturday for the entertainment. Thank you for another great review guys. Andrea, you look gorgeous as always. Love your fashion sense, best dressed car reviewer on UA-cam. Hitting it out of the park every week! 💯
i get he's called motormouth, but i gotta tell ya... it's a bit annoying to have Andrea keeps getting interrupted when Zack wants to get a word in. I think you can still maintain being conversational with these reviews without that kind of interruption. That's my opinion, i hope you'd take that as constructive criticism. I do find your reviews very useful info and getting a couple's perspective is awesome!
I personally think the E-Mustang may be the game changer everyone is waiting for. Almost 500Km seems to be the sweet spot, plus the interior looks like a normal car, unlike the Tesla. If Ford manages to get the price right unike Tesla they will be flying off the lot at Ford Dealers. Yep it may not have the charging network of Tesla, but in Alberta i never see a Tesla parked charging at the super charging stations, granted i live in Red Deer but still i've never seen a Tesla charging. Ford just needs to build a charging network maybe 5 units tops at their dealerships and they won't be able to keep these on the lots. It is the only electric vehicle I am interested in at the moment.
Used to be a huge Lexus fan until I leased a Mercedes, and I never looked back. Reliability is not a concern anymore since 70% of people lease their cars during a warranty period anyways. If I was buying used probably wouldn't buy a European car, but if you are leasing it then go with European if you are going to keep for 2-3 years.

Every1 praise about the car review but no point out @1:28 she make a dangerous left turn without the blinker and turning left on to a right lane incoming. Just image there is a pedestrian or a on coming car.

@@jrr3558 looks like it is high EVERYWHERE. Same thing here in the States. Curfew at 6 pm is tough. Be patient, hopefully things will be open by summer
I like how the NX looks, I hope the new generation improves on it. Hopefully with some well needed power upgrade. Thank you for the insightful video. When it comes to hybrid and electric propulsion, torque is more important than overall HP. I hope you can include that in your statistics.
Having just bought a 2021 NX 300H, there is nearly a $19K difference with the RX 450H. This is not chump change. Yes you can get an RX 350 for a similar price but it won’t be a hybrid and it won’t have the executive package options. When you compare apples, you should compare apples. These comparisons, while I recognize as personal, are misleading. Having driven an RX for a decade buddy’s description of the ride and drive of the NX was somewhat more accurate.
The only reason I would not get this vehicle, is the center console. It just does not look luxurious and the way it's set up just bothers me! I hope it gets changed.
When I was shopping for my new car last summer. I went with my Q5 instead of the nx. 1- pricing wise audi offers better monthly leasing。 2- the german handles amazing in high speed( super stable)on the freeway。 3- 4 years/ 80k km warranty For the people bragging about German reliability. For me if you don’t push your car always on its limits you will have reliable car for a long time. 4- Quattro is just amazing during winter times.
Age of buyers and type doesnt really care about old or new hybrid technology and plateform. They want reliable, resale value, comfortable, great appearance inside et out. Driving? The buyer will say he needs something easy to drive. Lexus know's that. The rx350 is simply the Ford crown victoria of 2020's. Lexus know that too.
This thing has absolutely NO problem with power, the problem is thinking a hybrid can complete with a 2.0 turbo. Talk about something valuable like the god awful torque steer
Why would someone buy these sort of old fashioned ICE vehicles instead of say a Tesla model Y. Is it just because the interiors and fit and finish are bit better. (Not much better though and with all the stupid switches and buttons seem archaic)
The bolts in the centre console are actually just a styling exercise, hence the Lexus name written on the bolt heads, they don't actually hold the trim on, that's the job of plastic clips.

That's very kind, thank you so much! Really glad you are enjoying our reviews.
I appreciate that!
I like the way that Andrea is now challenging you! No hard feelings:-) lol
Thank you for the review. I’ve been watching Zack Spencer for years. Does the guy ever age? Keep up the good work
I don't know about that but thank you!!
Glad you liked it! And no he doesn't seem to age at ALL. Lucky for him!
Been watching since Dagmar.
@@Jimo368 Yep same here
Great video guys, I love lexus
Thanks for watching!
Very nice, lovely car too.
The Shape and color on that NX is Gorgeous... Too bad(For me) that CVT, and low power numbers over shadow it.
Im excited the new nx coming out soon. Im excited to andrea too driving that one.😄
Love my 2019 nx f sport
Nice looking blue
Yes, it's pretty, it's called Grecian Water.
i get he's called motormouth, but i gotta tell ya... it's a bit annoying to have Andrea keeps getting interrupted when Zack wants to get a word in. I think you can still maintain being conversational with these reviews without that kind of interruption. That's my opinion, i hope you'd take that as constructive criticism. I do find your reviews very useful info and getting a couple's perspective is awesome!
9:50 "Why should i have to get used to things.." 🤭
Can't wait to drive and review the Mach-E!
What was the subscriber count supposed to be when Zack eats an avocado? :)
It's coming up! 150,000 Subs, I can't wait for it. Should I give him a plain avocado or make it more like a guacamole?
@@andreaspencer9813 Definitely plain! With an avocado smoothie to help him push it down.
Keep up the great content, Andrea!
@@angelherg1997 lol! Okay, done! I am going to mush it up and he will have to eat it out of a bowl. Or did he say, he will eat avocado toast? I will have to look back. If so, he can have it on bread then. It would be better straight out of the bowl though. Thank you, really glad you are enjoying the content.
That would be interesting esp if he hates them
@@ryanclark9415 Most definitely!
Every1 praise about the car review but no point out @1:28 she make a dangerous left turn without the blinker and turning left on to a right lane incoming. Just image there is a pedestrian or a on coming car.
No stop sign and looks like just a sharp turn. Why would she signal following the road? Also she can see through that turn no problem and just cut the turn a bit. Very low risk and soemthing I bet 90% of the people who drive that road do
If you're "full-figured", the Lexus F Sport seats are quite painful on the thighs, to the point of cutting off circulation. Not a proud detail for Lexus, me thinks....
Awesome video Andrea. A few good laughs is good. I am not crazy about this vehicle. Sorry! Cheers guys! 🍻
Thank you so much, really glad you enjoyed it! :)
@@andreaspencer9813 You are very welcome Andrea!
Is this still built on 2015 RAV4?
Yes, same as the old RAV4, not the current one.
@@andreaspencer9813 ugh...
The NX is an example of Lexus relying on their reputation of reliability to sell cars, instead of updating both design (mechanicals) and features.
Absolutely and they seem to get away with it.
Until we Canadians can buy a new, made-in-Ontario NX Hybrid, we should stick to the Canadian-built RAV4 Hybrid.
Hey . I love you guys. And you blue outfit matches with this bizarre Lexus blue. Salut depuis Paris.
Hello! Thank you so much, appreciate you watching!
How are things in Paris right now?
@@c-square7375 Not really fun. Pandemic is high and we have curfew starting at 6pm...
@@jrr3558 looks like it is high EVERYWHERE. Same thing here in the States. Curfew at 6 pm is tough. Be patient, hopefully things will be open by summer
@@c-square7375 Yes the whole world hopes that.
I like how the NX looks, I hope the new generation improves on it. Hopefully with some well needed power upgrade.
Thank you for the insightful video. When it comes to hybrid and electric propulsion, torque is more important than overall HP. I hope you can include that in your statistics.
Mark my words, the new NX is going to be basically the Venza with the Highlander Hybrid powertrain.
I look forward to driving it. The 2022 model should arrive late summer, early fall.
1:50 because of reliability
These prices make the corvette a Corolla bargain with a super car look
1- pricing wise audi offers better monthly leasing。
2- the german handles amazing in high speed( super stable)on the freeway。
3- 4 years/ 80k km warranty
For the people bragging about German reliability.
Get the Highlander Hybrid. Bigger, same price, better on gas.
Whats under the hood. Yea baby 💪😁😎 centre clock in Lexus sells the car to me .
Awesome!
This question is for Andrea. Is your husband really a motormouth? ;)
Haha, well at home he is not much of a talker, I am really the Motormouth, but he used to be a Top 40 DJ for years, so he can certainly talk fast.
It's underpowered I test drove it. Hopefully the new one is better.
LOL, next year the new NX is actually based on the new RAV4 and Venda....
No need to put it in “subscribe” at the very beginning ??? 😆
Nice but pricey.id say a Cx5 turbo and save yourself some coin
Lexus cant compete with luxury german car. Outdated interior and engine. Got my audi instead lexus
