The fact that a slave took the time to capture their history in this way shows that they believed it was necessary to let other people know. What is sick is that this gentleman just tried to gloss over that the right-wing groups are essentially trying to rip those quilts up because they would effectively make people "uncomfortable" by their wording. I do not care about your discomfort because an extreme discomfort was inflicted upon a group of people because they were not believed to be equal, and they were not believed to be equal until a war was fought to stop the Southern cultures. I do not care what those cultures are thought of because of these ideas having taken root in their past as those cultures also took the time to idolize the groups that were abused as they were turned into soldiers so that that original group of people could continue to be abused while ignoring the original group that was abused. That is a true sickness as it is an attempt to still separate groups of people out. It is a continuation of the original sin.

It's not about blaming. It's about learning from our past history. When they say people who fail to learn from their past, end up repeating it.That's so true. This is about growth. It's about learning and knowing how we can do better. No matter how much some people dont want to talk about or deal with this. Learning about Black history is important. The good, the bad and ugly parts.
