Been learning this from your Patreon scores, it's taught me a lot for bringing out a melody within a plucked texture as well as getting that perfect arch on the left-hand fingers. Thanks for all this great music, it's been a real treat to learn!
Kinda surprised you didn't record this one with your Paul Jacobsen. Them Cordoba guitars do sound beautiful though. Especially in such disciplined hands.
My intonation went haywire while recording and this was the last track, so I just grabbed the trusty Cordoba. A friend of mine finished up work on the Jacobson today 🎉
Hey John! I know I say this to all your work but once again, really love this piece, especially the change in motion from 1:04. The camerawork is really good in this one too, I like the closing in/out, the movement overall! The emotion building up from 2:48 onward... then your 'finishing move' at 3:05... wow, just chills down my spine. Simply A-mazing! Thank you!!
This track and 'Footfalls' always remind me of the main theme and 'Home' from Undertale. Sounds like they had the same influences. Either way, love all four tracks and this is an amazing cover. I get goosebumps every time I hear this one. Endwalker was such a powerful expansion, such a masterpiece.
Now you mentioned it; Endwalker seems to have that Undertale vibe. If you look at it; in the previous expansions, you set out to defeat gods to save nations (ARR with Eorzea, HW with Dravania & Ishgard, SB with Doma & Ala Mhigo, ShB with the First) with the world saved as collateral. Endwalker still has saving the world as collateral, but this time--instead of defeating a god to save everyone--you saved everyone straight out, just like Frisk if you taken a particular route.
"The Last Stand" uses nearly the same intro chord progression as Home/You Can Always Come Home. I am /convinced/ Undertale/Deltarune's soundtracks have had that kind of impact in the industry.

@@UnholyCameraman the smaller narrative themes are reminiscent too somewhat, starting from Heavensward onward honestly... learning to understand your enemies and trying to come to terms with them. Choosing to save lives rather than end them. Learning that fighting isn't always the answer, or that sometimes you have to fight to save the people you're fighting against. Such good stories in both these games...
