There are a lot of professional golfers practicing their shuffle on the range right now. Scottie is on another planet right now. Best ball striker since early 2000s Tiger no question.
Love how him and so many other great players always put an emphasis on feel. While basic fundamentals are very important, it’s even more important to implement them into a swing that’s comfortable and functional for you. Love the TM content. You can really learn a lot from these guys.
Feel is so much simpler and easier than thinking about positions.

The shots at the end are him leaving the foot basically stationary. It looks nothing like how he moves in actual competition.

I do it too i cant help it. until i feel comfortable and balanced i have to shuffle a bit. But i def have happy feet lol

The trail foot doesn't look like an area of concern, but the lead foot gets in a position that looks like he's going to snap an ankle!!
It's the left foot movement he does that's the problem, not the right foot one. He pronates on to the side of his foot.
Makes sense he's always done it because if someone took that up without lots of muscle support they would eventually destroy their left knee and ankle

Thinking of this motion of my back foot has helped so much. If my back foot stays too stationary and just lifts/rotates, I end up over the top and/or pulling left.
Far too much is made of his foot action. It's just something that is individual to him. What we should be talking about is his absolutely fantastic wide takeaway and backswing. This is where he get both his tremendous distance and consistency!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it, but his timing is impeccable. If I did this, I would have more lost balls in a summer than a lifetime of Easter eggs.
So I do the same thing and all I get is ruined golf shoe toes especially when I go to the range, those mats tear up the toes of my shoes

I pick my front foot up sightly, and kind of step during transition. Otherwise, I won't transfer my weight well, and will block the shit out of it all day long.
Honestly everyone has their own swing. Too many experts, too many critics. Blank them out. As long as you put the ball where you want it, who the hell cares how you swing?

As a Golfer, and a Musician, this is correct. As Scottie said, it's all about feel. Once you have the tools, you use them, your way.
