    Definitely looking forward to the more friendly price tag ball. Hope you do the mizuno rb566 I've had great success with that and the Callaway super soft. 👍

    I played the Soft Feel for many years and then switched to the Z Star. I actually found that the Z Star felt soft to me and went farther. I know there is supposed to be a big difference between them but I could not find it. But...I am an older. slow swinger and do not see that much difference between balls anymore.

      Hi Mike! I think that’s the challenge with UA-cam reviews, mine included. It’s one test in one persons hand on one day. I’m sure if I retested another day we’d see the same themes but slightly different results and everyone swings it a little different before you add in the different swing speeds. Based on the one time I’ve tested Z Star and the numbers I saw from soft feel I don’t think there would be too much in it long game but maybe more short game spin etc. (perhaps!). All the best Mike and Merry Christmas! 👍🏼

    Luke, how do you feel about the Srixon Soft Feel vs the QStar, from a value and playability perspective? As they’re both 2-piece balls, I’m curious if you feel the QStar is worth the $10 USD price difference

    • @weekendtourpro
      @weekendtourpro  5 місяців тому +2

      Hi Ross! Thanks for watching and for your question. For me personally, I think the Q Star/AD333 is the best pound for pound/dollar for dollar ball I’ve tested! It performed equally well across all parts of my test and it’s the ball I now recommend to any golfer looking to play the same ball every time without paying the premium price tags (based on UK pricing). So I definitely think it’s worth trying based on my testing to see if you feel the same! 👍🏼

    Good stuff here... I Just did a similar test in my sim with 7 different golf balls. Driver results were
    1.Callaway ERC Soft ---------------279 carry --160.3 BS---1762 Spin
    2. Titleist ProV1x --------------------278 Carry---158.7 BS---- 2184 Spin
    3.Titlest AVX---------------------------274.8 Carry--158.9 BS----2138 Spin
    4.Uneekor Bridgestone Ball----273.8 Carry---157.2 BS----2108 Spin
    5. Srixon Q-Star Tour Divide----273.3 Carry---157.9 BS---2222 Spin
    6.Srixon XV-----------------------------269.6 Carry----156.9 BS-----2202 Spin
    7.Srixon Soft Feel--------------------269.1 Carry---157.9 BS-----1967 Spin
    The ERC Soft really surprised me how long it is and the XV how short...I love the AXV personally, it gives the soft feel and the higher spin on wedge shots around the green. Best of both worlds IMO and can be had on EBAY for decent price in the 4A/5A mint condition auctions. $55 for a dozen balls is absurd no matter how good a ball may be, it's just robbery.

      Hi Jeff! That’s some AWESOME testing and offers a really interesting perspective for players with a slightly higher ball speeds than me! It’s also interesting to see how a ball can offer different speeds of golfers different performance! I have the Callaway ERC Soft and Callaway Supersoft ready to test next time out and it’ll be really interesting to see what results I get with the ERC vs you! All the best Jeff and Merry Christmas! 👍🏼

    Great review and Happy Holidays, Luke! Funny, because I played the front nine with a Soft Feel and the back with a ProV1 just today!
    Your pitching wedge results are interesting. Normally a lower compression ball will have a slightly faster ball speed than a tour ball with irons, regardless of speed, and combined with its lower spin, you'll get (slightly) longer carries with all the irons, including pitching wedge. It switches with driver, of course - a firmer ball is always faster.
    But TXG also had some interesting numbers with the Soft Feel. They found the wedge and partial shot spin very low, as expected. But then the 7-iron spin jumped WAY up. And driver spin was quite low. It had a flatter flight and ran out a lot, as you saw in your driver results. So maybe it's a bit of an odd ball.
    I prefer a slightly softer ball, and for me, at around 82 mph 7-iron, the sweet spot for compression is a ball like the ERC Soft. It's soft enough to feel good off all clubs and get good numbers and a little more distance with the irons, but firm enough that I'm not losing any ball speed with driver - or not enough to make any difference at my speed (high 90s driver swing speed). I also like the ERC Soft because it's just firm enough to get some feedback on where strike was on the club face. So I look forward to your thoughts on that ball.

      Hi Daniel! Thank you for watching my video and for your great comment!
      I think with any human test, particularly with my handicap level, whilst it makes the content relatable I am the biggest variable so maybe that’s come through in the PW?
      As for TXG, I love those guys, but haven’t seen their review of the Soft Feel. Assuming it’s the normal crew, their presenters are better players than me with faster swings so maybe that’s why they saw different results?
      Regarding ERC Soft I’ve had a lot of comments about how good this ball is and I have it ready to test next time in the studio early in the new year!
      All the best! 👍🏼

    I like the Srixon Soft Feel. For the money you just can’t beat them. I look for the buy 2 dozen and get 1 free. They play straight for me on all clubs. Spin around the greens is lacking but I just adjust my distance to allow for a bit of roll out.

    • @weekendtourpro
      @weekendtourpro  6 місяців тому +2

      Hi Barry! Your point about adjusting your short game is a really good one! I think the Soft Feel is a great golf ball and it has a bit of a cult following in the UK because of the feel and performance it offers at a great price point, which like you say, on the 3 for 2 dozen offers feels like a steal! All the best!

    I found a Srixon Soft Feel on the course at the end of last season and played it for a few holes and was super impressed! I thought it was a premium ball. I loved the feel. Going to pick up a few boxes for this season.

      Hi Ross! Thanks for watching my video, for your kind comment and for subscribing! Really cool to hear your own experiences with the Soft Feel - Srixon make such great golf balls and fair price points and the Soft Feel is an example of that. I also think the AD333 (or Q Star) if you’re US based is worth checking out. A tad firmer but the numbers I got from it were pound for pound the best I’ve seen when testing on the channel! All the best! 👍🏼

    • @RossCampoli
      @RossCampoli 10 місяців тому +2

      @@weekendtourproI’ll definitely check out the Q Star! Do you know if you’d recommend the Q Star vs the Q Star Pro?

    • @weekendtourpro
      @weekendtourpro  10 місяців тому +1

      @RossCampoli we don’t have Q Star Pro in the UK but I assume that might be what we call the Q Star Tour (for some reason the Q Star range are branded differently around the world!). If it is that ball, then I have a review of it on the channel. It’s very consistent and I really liked it but I struggle to see better value in it over the AD333/regular Q Star. It’s just a brilliant ball for the money! 👍🏼
