      Yes I'm thinking of doing it myself along with my daughter. My front and side where I can reach not to high. Scared of height. I've learn a lot watching UA-cam. Me and my daughter changed the pipes to my the main drain cast iron by watching UA-cam. Saved myself about 7,000.00 dollars. About 5 years ago and no more problems since.

    I thought the verge tiles had to be mechanicaly fixed now and was expecting them to use dry verge instead.

    • @stephenwivverp5599
      @stephenwivverp5599 2 роки тому

      Good point. Verge tiles would have been mechanically fixed or nailed in layman's terms in days gone by but if a dry verge system is incorporated (now a standard practice) to the build the dry verge units or continuous dry verge system will hold verge tiles securely in place therefore eliminating the need to nail down tiles on the verge. And just who beds down and points verge tiles on a roof these days? CAVEMEN!

    Come on lads, don’t use hollow on a huge overhang like that, use a solid 150mm shiplap instead. That will bend all over the place when someone tries to clean it.

    How can you fix new soffit over rotten roof timbers, these should be replaced /repaired and treated with suitable wood preservative prior to the replacement taking place

      TrADIES, THEY DO LITTLE AS POSSIBLE. i BET THEY CHARGED FOR REPLACING THE TIMBERS THEN DIDN'T BOTHER "yEAH LOVE WE REPLACED EVERYTHING..."

      It’s alright, the firm will be long gone by the time the householder realises the problem, and that the rest of the timbers have also gone rotten due to the plastic stopping the timbers breathing.

    Houses in Britain used to be rock solid but thanks to cheap American construction materials, they're now making more and more things of cheap grade plastic.
