Yes she is a FANTASTIC trumpet player, but her beautiful, so melodic and soothing voice is so calm and sweet that it makes me wish to be in her company too.. André was professor of trumpet at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris and introduced the teaching of the piccolo trumpet including the Baroque repertoire on trumpet. André has inspired many innovations on his instrument and he contributed to the popularization of the trumpet. Maurice won the Geneva International Music Competition in 1955, together with Theo Mertens, and the ARD International Music Competition in Munich in 1963. There is a difference. She is beautiful, but it doesn't make her talent less important. She is a serious, talented trumpetplayer without her beauty.
Thank you for the historical significance of Maurice Andre's talent and work of his lifetime achievements. Many are not aware of his numerous contributions, especially the younger generations. I so appreciate knowing all of his contributions over many decades. Alison Balsam has her place too among the great trumpet players, but she's young and has many years to prove herself.
