Good tips but not enough. I still don't know where to change my money to HUF. We're tourists dude we want to explore the city instead of searching for good offer change offices. Where are the good places to change our money?
Recently came back from Budapest I’d advice taking whatever spending money you want to spend in cash and get the beat rate from the currency exchange stores. You can pay for transport initially at the airport by card or it may be worth having a couple of thousand HF so you some money at the beginning. I’d advice getting the bus into the town centre as it’s around £3 pp each way.
@@michael150583 Hi. Yes it was. I paid most things with my Revolut card: public transport, restaurants or convenience stores. You can exchange to Forint in advance before going, that's what I did. I also withdrew a small amount at a ATM in the city with my Revolut card in case I needed cash. Enjoy :)
Thank you! We needed to double check the pronunciation of "Forint" before we talk about it in tomorrow's Review/Preview show on our channel. We're going to give your video here credit and put a link in our descriptions. Cheers.
Keep going, but be regular. Also cover other cities too. Please get inspiration from UA-cam channel "HONEST GUIDE" who make videos about Czech republic
Thanks for the encouragement, I'll try to post one new video a week, every week! :) For now, I'll stick to Budapest though, there is so much to cover here as well, but maybe later on I'll expand to other regions of Hungary. I'll check out our Czech friends, see what they have been doing.
There is an Arabic money changer near deak ferenc ter bus stand...u can easily recognise it by long queues it has...it's near mir kebabs...one of the most authentic money exchange place I came across in budapest...
please make a vedio on train or tram ticket scams, you put money and you do not get back change because they insert something and they blocked it, and when you go , they come and take your change.
It depends! :) Some - typically fancier - places automatically add a service fee (usually 10-15%), but this must be clearly marked on the menu and the bill. Usually though tip is discretionary, if you were happy with the service add 10% or so. Thanks for the great question, I might make a separate video on this topic.
Dont change in the road there are many people who say. That can change money and give you rusian money. We lost 300 euro he stole us and leave tha place fast. Dont belive anyone road go to change shops.

Arabic currency exchange on karoly krt near deak ferenc ter is one of the best currency exchange places in Budapest IMO...
Every country is the same, when the tourist come, they don't know any better, so they get away with charging extra.
Going there in a couple weeks. I'm just going to use my Revolut card, makes exchanging currency so much easier and cheaper.
The best video Ive watched today!

Thanks for the suggestion, I am sorry if this happened to you, I know about the issue, I will try to do a video on it to help others avoid it.
ua-cam.com/video/K9hhg86KXu4/v-deo.html as you suggested, here is a video that also mentions this awful scam!
But which exchange place????
Is Budapest mostly cashless now? Can you use your phone (Apple Pay or Google Pay) to pay for most transactions?
When dinning in Budapest, is the tip always included on the check?

Umm thc😮
During my trip to Budapest in 2019 I found that the Euro was accepted everywhere. So I recon the best action is to take Euro's out with you.
That's the worst advice.
Yes they accept euros. But in a much higher rate. They will charge you more without you knowing it.
Thank you.....
