- The Christian life is full of paradoxes; one, in particular, is that our lives are full of joy but also full of mourning. Even though we have the joy of Christ and the hope of heaven, yet there are still many things in this life that cause us to mourn. One thing that specifically causes us to mourn is our own remaining sin. These two realities may not seem to go together to the carnal mind, but we’ll never taste the sweetness of God’s comfort if we have not tasted the bitterness of mourning over our sin.

Conway's preaching is so clear, so relateable I know no other preacher whose quite as honest and dead accurate at explaining Scripture and the Christian life.
I used to be contrite often over sins and was angry and fell away from God. For my joy was not found only deep pits of despair, now I know that this is what was needed to feel the presence of God I felt. No longer will I run from this grief but I will embrace it, no longer will I run from fasting and these holy things but embrace them. I need them to be saved.
This was an outstanding sermon.
Sometimes I feel swallowed up in the guilt and shame of my sin and sinful nature. How easy it is for me to go my own way, do my own things, desire my own selfishness...yet I know there is hope in Christ, and Him alone. I see my depravity more and more, but I know He is my answer.

People who come to the carnal logic that more sin doesn’t matter do not love God. And even more so do not understand sin and how it grieves God. Grace is for those who truly love God and when convicted by that love, you’d never think to sin because you have grace. You wouldn’t take advantage. I’d encourage anyone thinking so to check if they love God truly or if they’re just walking with God without conviction.
A lot of really good points that I completely agree with, but not a lot of comfort for weak and weary sinners who are already mourning, not until the very end.....
I ask that you pray for me, I truly hate my sin of Lust, but it is continually in my mind. I long for victory. I hate the pull, and the images in the mind that will pop up from time to time. I desire for greater manifestations of Gods Grace.
If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the world, why, as if you were still alive in the world, do you submit to regulations- "Do not handle, Do not taste, Do not touch" (referring to things that all perish as they are used)-according to human precepts and teachings? These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh.

I used to struggle with lust but God has helped me overcome it. It’s true that the more you feed this sin the greater the desire, but the good news is the inverse is also true. The more you deny your flesh the easier it becomes. Not to say it’s no longer a temptation, but God gives us power over it, and it’s extinguished more quickly.

Lust and Adultery
Keep in mind that the sex of the unfaithful person does not affect how God sees adultery, lust, or unfaithfulness. Oftentimes in the Bible it will refer to the adulterous woman, as God compares the apostate church to an idolatrous/adulterous woman. Sent out an email on the issue of how others view a family member having and showing lewd materials to other family members. At that time I did not state my opinion, as I wanted unbiased responses from those on my email list. I realize this is a divisive issue, even though God is very clear on His Word. It seems that the world has infected the way that those who claim to be Christian think on these issues. Globally, many church members are lukewarm like the Laodicean Church. I would issue the warning of God to this church, repent, or He will spew you out of his mouth.[Rev 3:14-22]

Having said that, I know that the sins included in those that need to be repented of are far greater in depth and width than just sexual immorality. But, also be aware that lust can include covetous, as the things done contrary to the Word, originate from the lusts of the heart and mind.
Matthew 5:28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

@@charliebaker8275 one of my most common praise is to be more bold. I can’t stand that i don’t speak up and witness. I get concerned that i won’t witness correctly or will push people away from the faith. Meanwhile, they aren’t faithful at all so idk why i get so in my head. I think its an ego issue also probably more than anything
I have the same problem, I'm never really bold and I have trouble figuring out when and how I should witness.

I hope you repent (commit no matter what it takes to following JESUS i.e THE way - John 14:6 - and not your own way) and don't continue that way because cowards have their part in the lake of fire: Revelation 21:8.
When you no longer live for self but only for Christ and the glory of God (i.e you deny yourself: the first requirement of being a disciple: Matthew 16:24, Mark 8:34, Luke 14:26 & 27, 33)
and you are always fixing your eyes i.e thoughts on Jesus through reading and meditating on his words all day then it's impossible to be a coward because cowards by definition think of Self above all and put Self first
That's why they're in the lake of fire, with Satan who put Self first and entices others to do likewise...
