"...and she hits the line at three thirty with a lap to go."
Huh ?
So where's the race????
Elle wat strong 5k
no mention about the girls running in front of pace lights?????....i-dunno!!!!..LOL
REPOST this properly pls
American runners need to be 30 seconds faster over this distance if they cope to get any medal, let alone the gold medal, at the Olympics.
Parker Valby, a 21 year old just ran a 15:07 in her sleep. She was sleeping walking the 1st 2.5k with a pacer.
Unleash her and watch 14:30 be broken.
Parker has no limit at this age. Nothing can stop her. She takes a lead and then pulls away even more.
Let's see her in the Olympic trials next month as she goes up against the fastest and sees who wins.... 😄😂 No contest!!!!
Glad you're such a big Valby fan. But chopping off that much time against seasoned pros is a Big Ask. We'll see.

A couple of things:
• Parker has no competition in college. She laps everyone with ease. Think NFL ball player vs Pop Warner!!
• She has no one pushing her so she doesn’t push herself
• She doesn’t have the best US coaches, equipment/diet/training
• She’s super young and doesn’t know any limitations
• Do the math. She only needs to cut 3 seconds per lap (12 laps or 36 seconds) to break 14:30. Piece of cake!
• She’s the perfect build (5’.6”-5’7”) so she’s very efficient in her strides and form
My only worry is she’s never been tested. Will she go out too fast and die at the end?? With athletes at her caliber that shouldn’t be an issue.
My prediction: she makes the team and starts breaking records!! 😊
@@MyContestPix -- "only" 3 seconds/lap over twelve and half laps is not a piece of cake, especially as runners approach world-class 5K times. But anything is possible, and I wish Parker all the best!

Au Contraire, The official world record in the 5000 metres is by Gudaf Tsegay with 14:00.21 for women.
Running 6 sec/lap faster won't be a piece of cake, but 3 secs faster surely is. Again, think how the lack of top notch coaching and lack of competition holds her back. Parker can easily knock off 15-20 seconds out of the gate. Add in strategy, best in the world training and metrics, those last 15-20 will fall as well.
She has untapped raw talent that needs to be harnessed and molded. It's not a question of if, but when. Not saying she going to break 14:00, but she will be the best American runner on the field and will give Tsegay a run for her money!! 😄
US Olympic trials is going to be great!
And another screw up @ 23:29 into the vid: calls her "Elinor Purrier." 😑
I mean the announcer use to run with her when she had her maiden name. Elle went by Elinor at the time it was her name when the announcer ran with her, not a big deal at all, she went by purrier- st. pierre for a year in 2021 after being married to transition to her new name. It has been a pretty recent change
@@kate2gt5 -- I know. But a professional commentator should not screw up like this. Just a slip-up / bad moment... we're all human.
Seriously.... someone got paid for producing this poor excuse of a video.
Jesus Christ. If you need an editor I can do it for you cuz whoever is doing doesn’t know how track and field works and doesn’t know how to edit. Well at least they managed to get it uploaded
