I can’t explain how excited I get when I see the Stud Pack notification!! You guys are probably my favorite UA-cam channel right now! Keep up the hard work and I can’t wait to see the Texas project come together! Welcome Rad! Super excited to have you!
Binocular Bob here... Just wondering about those little triangles that were missing ? :) Anyways great video as always. I watch all of them as soon as they come out. You guys rock and congrats on the expansion of your Stud Pack team. Extra set of hands are always good on the jobsite, Welcome Rad! Gonna be epic watching the STUD PACK house come to life.
If I had to guess, they're going to fill those in with a different type of tile so have a little inlay detail. Like a triangle of white marble in its place or something like that. Who knows though lol
If I had to guess the small triangles kept breaking so it's just going to get filled in with grout. If they're using grey grout it's probably wont even be noticeable. It's also much easier to lay smaller tiles afterwards as they can shift around while setting all your tiles. Use your sponge to wipe away some mortar? Now your tiny tile shifted and you have to mess with it again.
Welcome to the team Rad! He is going to be a great addition to the Stud Pack crew. I cracked up at what I assume is Rad on camera capturing this heart warming father and son moment at 6:03. Absolutely cannot wait to see the Stud Pack House now with the extra pair of hands. Thank you so much for all your work!
I don’t even bother seeing the content before hitting the like button. That is how confident that the content will be good. Like I always say the best father son duo on UA-cam! Keep it up guys! 👍🏼
Great video guys keep'em coming, your channel keeps getting better and better. Also I love that the old man has turned into such a showman or maybe deep down he always was. But watching him over the years he's really come into his own, he's even came up with a signature ending. I dont know if he'd admit it but I think he really gets a kick out of being a UA-cam star.
You guys are the bombdigidy! The fact that you make it look easy and you don’t do shotty work. In fact you go out of your way to do an amazing job speaks volumes about your character. And as I always say “There’s no reason to say anything about other people’s work. Your work should speak louder than your words.”
I started a trade as an electrician later in life when I started a family, no one ever expected me to work in construction. My dad is also a tradesman, a welder/boiler maker. He is getting older now. I've been watching you guys for over a year now, and I just wanted to say that as enjoyable as your videos are, it's the dynamic and the relationship you two have with each other that really got my hooked in. It really made me think of my dad, and the new connection we have with each other by both being tradesmen. We have definitely bonded more as father and son being able to talk about our work. So as random as that is, I just wanted to say thank you! P.S: As an electrician from Australia, seeing your electrical work is so foreign to me haha but it's so cool to see!
Just a quick comment… your video editing and integration with the music is just getting better and better. You guys educate and entertain at the same time and that’s why STUDPACK is my favorite channel on UA-cam. Can’t wait for your first video from Texas.
I love that your whole family is getting involved in the Stud Pack channel. Can't wait to see all the work to be done in Texas. Quality job as always. Welcome Rad!
I've tried every leveling system and this one is the very best. I started with it when it was the Spin Doctor system, then bought refills under the Ridgid brand. Research the clear discs you put on the post on top of the tile under the red spinners. They keep the tile from shifting. It's a great system!
Papa Studd, your sincere disposition is hilarious. It's genuine "Dad" humor. And welcome Rad! I'm sure your addition to the team will be rrrrr......really helpful. Great job team!
I use my glow rods differently. I push the rod through first and hook the wire to the tail end to drag the wire behind it. It makes the glow rod much more manageable when going through hard to reach areas. I use them a ton running low voltage.
I had the same Kobalt tile saw and upgraded to a Rubi large format saw. So far, I love the new saw and sold the old one. I also like the saw moving through the tile on the Rubi vs the table on rollers with Kobalt.
Two valuable details in the video. 1. use of the vibrating tool to remove grout and 2. the spacers with orange screw caps. Caps are necessary imo to keep those large tiles in perfect level as the thin set cures. Thanks!
I don't think I've ever seen another contractor youtube channel with a more likeable guy than Paul. I've learned a whole lot from you guys over the past year since watching.
Congrats on the extra help. You remind me of my uncle. Who I hold dear. You are a wonderful dad and father in law . May God continue blessing you and your loved ones.
Hey only posted an hour ago, my first new video of this series. I saw part 15 first and then went back and have watch every episode. Great energy and knowledge. Been loving the channel and the videos. Good luck on the stud pack house can’t wait for the videos.
Those style levelers/spacers are by far my favorite. I know them as "spin doctors" because it was the main manufacturer when I first used them. Just stubbled on you guys recently and was wondering if you ever used them. I enjoy kicking them instead of the mallet. You all are great! Keep it up!
What a great job on that tile! Glad all the drama is behind you with permitting etc and look forward to your next adventure. TEXAS is a nice place to live.
Love your videos, my husband watches your content constantly and during the last couple weeks of my pregnancy i got sucked in. Our girl is 11 weeks now and he waits for me when a new one drops so we can watch it together. Maybe if you drop one on Nov 13 you can wish us (Kelly and eric) a happy 1st wedding anniversary 🙃. He'd get a kick out of that. Ps that attic looked terrifying and that tile work was 💯
Just as I've stated before, I have learned quite a bit about the whole process of waterproofing and different methods of tiling from the Pack. If ever I decide to tackle such a project, I will def. reference from this and previous videos. I really like the dry pack method. And I love all of the new leveling systems that you guys showcase. Great job, guys. Welcome to the Pack, Rad.
I just wanted to say moen and Kohler probably delta have specification handbooks on how to design body spray systems, very useful, manufacturer suggestions for best results. You guys have a great channel, keep up the good work my friends!
Welcome to the pack, Rad! Yall are killin it! All 3 of yall , quality AF work even with so-so tools, looking beautiful! NO WORRIES not explaining in depth on these last few, this channel is a superfund of excellent explanation videos! Drop us a few links and we are good to go!
Love the large format tile on the shower floor. Doing one in a month or so. Tile store guy talked the customer into a river stone shower floor. We said we don't like to do river stone , too much grout. we showed them a picture of large tiles with envelope cut. They loved it.
I think the river rock/pebbles look is going to age poorly. Leaves too much grout and it's going to stain, esp in a shower which well get gross. too hard to clean and most are not going to look good in 10 years. JMHO.
A few extra spacers costs peanuts, hitting your bare toes on lippage somewhere costs years of saying "if only I used a few extra spacers", and "we're gonna save this great floor" instead of "let's rip it all out, the floor's not perfect anyways" in a future remodel.
Hey Stud Pack, what are you planning to do about those tiny triangle gaps where the slope cut meets the edges of the tiles? Are you just gonna grout them or are you gonna install tiny triangle pieces of tile?
I don't think it would look that good with just grout. They're tiny triangles, but much larger than the rest of the grout lines. Curious to see what they say about it.
Thanks guys! Layout first is very important! I love the screw type levelers. I used to get Rigid through HDepot but have to order on Amazon now. I don't know if they were discontinued. I will check out the Rubi. The Rigid had different configurations for 4 corner, T offset and straight. With the different configurations you use less. I always reuse the screw part, too. What tile saw will you get next? I have a 10" Dewalt hand-me-down. It still cuts true! I love watching.
Awesome stuff guys and welcome to Rad! Also big thanks for showing the Halo lighting kits in this post and past posts - I’m sold on these and bought 4 sets for my basement.
Impressed with your work and the detail in the video's. Curious if any of your videos show the transition from durarock to sheetrock in an alcove tub. My plan is two will meet at a corner utilizing a vinyl corner bead fastened to sheetrock and Dura rock. Schluter will tie the tile in at the corner for a smooth transition. I'm using vinyl as I've seen metal corner bead corrode in a bathroom around the tub in a previous life. I'll keep looking but wanted to ask and any comment would be appreciated. Again, very impressed and love seeing folks that actually produce and smile while doing so. The 'ol man used to have us all singling while we were digging ditches. It helped make the pick and shovel just a bit less challenging. Hard to believe that was 50 years ago.
Wow nice to see a real world experiment of H pattern and O pattern. If one is noticeably better than there is no further discussion. Not that i am going to build a shower like this ever in my life.
Dewalt make a diamond cutter for the buzz saw...it's thicker than the blade you used, but good to have in the toolbox (used mine today). That bathroom is coming along nicely. Keep going gang...almost there!!
I hope you brought your A -game Rad. From what I can tell, Paul and son flog themselves and never let quality slip. I for one am totally envious of their positive attitude alone!
"Born for the corner" gave me a good chuckle. Thanks for that.
Love to see a new man on the stud pack team! Going and growing! 2023 is gonna be a huge year for y’all guys. Callin it now

Was wondering that myself. At the end of the video there a couple of quick shots that show they didn't forget them.
Sameeee thought!! 🤣🤣🤣 But at the end it also seemed they didn’t fill them in 🤔 one did one didn’t so I am still confused
If I had to guess, they're going to fill those in with a different type of tile so have a little inlay detail. Like a triangle of white marble in its place or something like that. Who knows though lol

@@chrisott2 Of course because Paul doesn't cut corners 🤣
I've always been the guy sent up the 2 square feet of attic "access." Props, Jordan. Great attitude!
When you don't have access to a fancy, glow in the dark pole... 1/2 pvc works great! Awesome job
You are so correct. Planning the tile layout is 90% of the final look 👍😁
Paul's comedic timing in this one was on point lol

Stud Pack 2023!!

This is going to be one of the most well engineered bathrooms on the planet. Unbelievable craftsmanship!
