Thanks for the video, I was able to modify and replace the forend in about 45 minutes. I made sure to give myself enough playing room just in case I messed up the measurement. Worked great
I ordered a forend specifically for the 590 shockwave and it got lost in the mail. I saw this video this morning and ran to Cabelas to grab one and try it. Not only does this work great, it looks so much better than what i was going to go with. THANK YOU!!!

Nice job with this video man. Seriously. Do you think I could mount the Magpul MOE Forend, with the correct plastic manipulation, on my Shockwave 590m? I saw that the company that mods the Forends (GGGaz) said that their modified Magpul Forend (Designed for a Shockwave 590) is not compatible with a Regular 590m, so I am guessing that same lack of compatability includes the Shockwave 590m. Anyway, let me know what your thoughts are on this endeavor. Much appreciated and keep up the great work! 🇺🇸
I honestly think it would be much the same, but you’d likely have to do some work to clear the heat shield. Not sure how the heat shield is mounted on the 590M, but I’m sure that’s where you’d have issues.
Sorry for the delayed response. No, I'm sorry, all my stuff is in storage at the moment as we're between homes and I don't remember exactly what the final measurements ended up being. I knew I wanted about 1/4" spacing between the receiver and the grip with the grip rearward...so I took off the rear little by little until I had that 1/4", then started nipping at the front little by little until it fit. It's not really that technical once you get past the initial fear of cutting into the grip.
Any recommendations for anyone that needs one of these for the mag fed version of the shockwave? Dd&d says the one that they mod does not work with mag fed version. Any recommendations?! Thanks!
Sorry. Can’t help you there. I’m sure it could be modified to work, but I’m not familiar with the mag-fed version to know what the complication would be.
I tried and failed… I’m pretty handy but this was a tough one. For some reason when pumping the shotgun it skips over the top ribs in the rear and jams up pretty good. Not sure if I would attempt it again and ruin another forend.
I’m sorry to hear that. I was wondering if this was a possibility. That’s why I used the fine cutting wheel and chisel to keep the leading edges of those ribs sharp and at right angles.
Do you have a shockwave? Because magpul from what I can tell does not sell one for the shockwave. But there is a company that mods them and sells them for like $65 I believe. I have one sitting in front of me right now and it has to be modified no doubt about it because that’s how I ended up here.
Yeah, mine too. And yes I have a shockwave. I made sure to order the 590 specific forend. There has to be some disconnect here because all I did to mine was sand the top of the forend down to clear the barrel shroud. Works great and was hand fitted so there is 0 slop.
So, you already have it ran all the way back. With the bolt as far back as it will go. And you already have PLENTY of clearance and you're taking more off. I swear, some of you should not own firearms. You probably over tighten lightbulbs too.

@@isurvive7165 you didn’t have any issues with your forend right? Worked just as good as the corn cob one that came with the shockwave?
For me the the handguard needs to have a more aggressive handstop for a shorty. Don't want to shoot my fingers off
I put an arisaka hand stop on the left side to rest in the webbing between thumb and index, helps manage recoil and keep my fingers behind the barrel
