Rich offers to fill a school library with books, before introducing the multi-talented genius behind Taskmaster and much more, Alex Horne.
Find out what it’s like to sit bare-arsed on a cake, the secrets of Tim Key’s kindle, the respective amounts the pair spent on their last hair cuts and whether the first rule of Taskmaster is you can’t go on Taskmaster if you ask to be on Taskmaster.
Plus who will win the battle of the Christmas books: Taskmaster www.amazon.co.uk/Taskmaster-E...
    or
Emergency Questions www.gofasterstripe.com/eq (the answer is Taskmaster), defeating a tea-pot coveting old woman on Countdown and some stuff that’s going to get the people of Chesham whooping (if they can get internet access).

Horne is one of the most quick-witted people ...in the world, maybe? He is able to rewind the immediate past and correct (usually others') mistakes, without his persona seeming embittered or even that pedantic. Always with a chuckle, and humility. Niightmare for the ego.

The "haircuts" segment at 1:03:40 really shows off what these two guys can do with nothing. Richard just *knows* that Alex loves this sort of talk and he's definitely intentionally setting up a loaded pause ( at 1:04:40 ) for Alex to slam home. Fucking brilliant from both of them.

I have to re-watch! I binged several (at least nine?) seasons in a row on UA-cam last year, which is not the best way to experience "Taskmaster." I thoroughly enjoyed it and remember Richard's having been on but none of the details. 🤔Through no fault of his, I might add - I was on sensory overload and/or multi-task[mastering] so due attention wasn't paid. A vaguely recall Greg's having been hard on him as his his wont with certain personalities when he's in Taskmaster mode.

Should be 千里神駒 on Alex's shirt--an example of the common confusion of 里 and 裏, as the two characters have different meanings but are combined into one in simplified Chinese. When you switch that back into traditional Chinese (which is the case of Alex's shirt), you end up with the wrong word when no one proofread that.

    27:30 Bootleg
    Etymology

Alex kisses a lot of men. He kissed Josh Widdicombe at least twice in one episode of the Last Leg

to not lament when we're 50 years too late to avert widespread ecological and humanitarian damage, and maaaybe too late to avert catastrophic outcomes .. that is an enviable and rare calm.

I love everything there is about taskmaster, just not the US version. Dogshit! The women were hateful and rude! Also Reggie sucked.... also, Comedy Central hid it behind a paywall. I didn't even know it existed until 2024! But what if you did a Netflix version with someone who was charismatic as a host? What if you had someone like Kevin Hart as a host? Or fuck, what about The Rock? Lol just not Reggie Watts, the cream cardstock of the "comedy" world

Really surprised by all the raving comments. I'm not sure if it's the format or the pairing with Richard, but I found Alex really difficult to sit through. Moments of clever buried in tedium

just watched an episode of taskmaster which had it's moments but at least one of the tasks was fixed. Spoiled it for me a little, it's just the same as mock the week et al.

1:07:45 - Er, it's not an 11% tip. Interesting how some people try to do quick sums to look smart but actually end up looking a bit dumb - giving £60 for a £55 haircut does not equal an 11% tip, 5 is one eleventh of 55 but the percentage tip is 9.09% (1/11), a second's thought should make you see £55 plus anything more than 10% will give you more than £60. Jeremy Corbyn made a similar elementary mistake in an interview he did once with that awful Owen Jones I think it was, it only confirmed that he had a second rate mind and should never be in a position of real power.
