You said "parallel valve". In a future video, can you show the difference between engine designs - different valve designs, etc. Thanks so much for this video, Subscribed!

What type of material are the intake & exhaust valves made of? Do the turbocharged engines require different valve materials?

    Thanks for your video.
It would be appreciated if you would answer the posters questions below.
Here are questions from me which I hope you will answer.
If a steel barrel is good and the aluminum head is cracked, do you demate the cyl barrel and mate it to a new or good head-?
If you do not demate cylinders and heads, why do you not do this-?
Before removing exhaust guides do you heat the aluminum head to a specified temperature to remove the guide and press in a new guide at this spec. temp-?

I have read that in the past, a solution was used to wash aircraft parts in, before overhaul or renovation. This solution would remove paint, soot and grease from aluminum without damaging the underlying metal. What was the name of this solution? Is it (or similar) available nowadays?

Does any company make aluminium cylinders with press in liners and press in valve guides? If so how much weight do they save plus better cooling.

I know I am late to the party but…if you over bore a cylinder and put in higher compression piston, can we give my 200HP Arrow more power? (Lycoming)

    • @TheJustinJ
      @TheJustinJ 11 місяців тому +1

      Not legal
      Get an experimental?
Bore/Stroke wont add much power, maybe ~ 3%
      Higher compression pistons gives 3 ~ 5%

Now, I am confused on hone angles.
    Moly rings VS. Iron...
    Is there anything to that?
    Thanks,

Why are aircraft cylinders the only cylinders on earth built with a choke? The heat and expansion theory doesn’t seem to fit on the Harley or VW

I worked for Flight School down in the lower 40 I was wondering where are the go no go is on whether or not a cylinder is repairable I have about 20 cylinders and none of them were mothballs so some of them have gotten rust in them some don’t look that great some don’t look that bad. What can I do to save myself from sending cylinders that are not fixable.
