  • This film was made in Coeur d'Alene at the City Park and Coeur d'Alene Idaho Kootenai County Fairgrounds.
    Just want to correct the name of one of the drum group.!!!
    It is not Short shooter but " Sharp Shooter!! "
    It is Intertribal not “Inner” and the drum group is SHARP* Shooters, not “Short” Shooters!!!

    This video touched me and made me cry....I cry because of the hurt and pain our people have endured since the beginning....my father is Apache and my mother is Mexican american....I live in Illinois now but born in Texas....I long to get closer to my native side....it is beyond beautiful to me....I close my eyes and listen to the songs and go off into another place but it leads me back to tears because this is OUR land but they have taken it and have claimed it for their own.....I would like to know when this years Pow Wow will be.....I will do anything in my power to be there....and THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH FOR SHARING THESE BEAUTIFUL VIDEOS.....Keep us alive!!!!

    This PowWow video brought joy into my life that 900 dead horses were honored. I am sorrowed to say that I look kind of white. My lifetime of 73 years has been very similar to 109 years of beatings, disrespect, and persecution by whites as is experienced yet today in Pine Ridge Reservation. I am Jicarilla Nde. BIA registered Apache. Bless you all!

    Thank you so much for this stunning view in secret First Nation Cultures Pow Wow festivities. In the 90's I witnessed Pow Wows in Europe/ Netherlands ( holland ;), from different Tribes, they were on World Tour to tought us and show us that it is important to live close to Mother Nature. But ofcourse also the proud contests of the dancers and drummers. The explanations of the outfits ( fringes/ feathers/ bells ec.) that it is very important that everything moves as they do their dances, to do with their energy they put in.
    At the end there was an Friendship Dance and we, the audiance, were invited to join and dance together with them. I will never forget the positive and strong energy in that theatre. ✌🌈🌎
    I met also an father, Medicine Man/ Shaman, with his daughter and 2 sons, who was working together with modern doctors in hospitals, he was tought his daughter to follow him up as Medicine Woman. Do you know a group known as the Cedar Tree Singers, I bought their cd, so I have real First Nation music wich I cherish. ✌🌈🌎
    This Pow Wow reminds me of the shows in the 90's, the energy is soo strong and my heart resonates with the drums.
    With kind regards from @msterdam/ holland ✌🌈🌎

    I know of the history of how the pow wows came about. The white man generals asked the natives to dress in their finest and to put on a show for the great white leaders from the great house in Washington. This is where the new tradition began. This is the story passed on to me by Ojibwe elders. What makes me proud is that little did the white man know that this new tradition instilled pride, brotherhood and the power to begin rebuilding the circle so that it can be completed. The lands that Mother Earth gave to our people, that was stolen through deceit, through lies, shall return to our people when the circle is complete. Then the truth shall be restored.

    What a beautiful, fun, and powerful atmosphere! Thank you for allowing us into such a wonderful event! Just a quick question, does anyone know where to find Dan Simons&his wife's beadwork earrings @25:39 ?? They are STUNNING! And to add on to that, I am a white settler-Canadian, is it okay to wear earrings like that if they are bought from the appropriate nation/artist? Thanks for all your help and for sharing such wonderful videos!!

    What does the victory song symbolize?

    • @cheffreysailto8937
      @cheffreysailto8937 3 роки тому

      We dance in victory for surviving hundreds of years of genocide. We dance for those that can no longer dance, the ones who have passed on. We dance for the ones who cannot. We dance for the ones yet to come. Our victory is that we are still here and we are the prayers of our ancestors and we will continue to dance to the end of time.

      Kimi Oota Dabun, Sadly youre not on anyone's side. North American 1st Nationers appear to be extremely divided suffering from racism and inner racism. It breaks my heart. Many so lost from the path, they have been brainwashed to hate on their very own people trying to cross the border, escaping countries whose democratically elected presidents have been over thrown by the United States being killed by CIA trained paramilitaries, losing their lands and families. All of those victims are Native Americans. To hate on anyone on Earth is to hate on all and your own ancestors. You don't want to be like Karen. I only said I was Muslim, to expose her hatred and her brainwashing, because she was drowning in so much hate, she brought it up for no reason. Divided and fearful is exactly how your conquerors want you to live your life. It leaves you vulnerable and easily manipulated.
      I'm actually a 1st Nationer. If you want to study what it looks like when 1st Nationers unite, take the time to study CONAI. It is a union of all the 1st Nations of Ecuador. They have been able to dispose of 2 Presidents, and put 3 Presidents into power. That's power. That's what unity does. They do not hate outsiders. They recognize the power of uniting with the indigenous of all Nations. Many Colombians, Peruvians, and Central American Natives have fled to Ecuador because they are accepted there and empowered. Compare that to the state of North American natives. How many Presidents have you put into power? None.
      Now when North Americans do unite, the entire world respects that. When the Water Protectors united to fight the pipeline, they got allot of love from Palestinians, who understand what it is like to lose their lands, their culture and their loved ones to colonizers. But people Karen wouldn't know that. Don't be like her. Be a unifier and let go of the hate from your heart. The hate and fear is imposed on our people. And it's part of the mechanism, on how to control an entire people. Study Willie Lynch, the art of dividing people to enslave them. You will see allot of familiar things in there. It's the Willie Lynch Curse. Free yourself from it. Study how your brothers and sisters empower themselves in Bolivia, Ecuador and even Venezuela. Study directly from the 1st Nationers and not the corporate news media of your conquerors who teach to fear and divide. It's time to unite and take over what belongs to us.

    • @HiddenPalm
      @HiddenPalm 6 років тому

      "The water protectors believed the lies of the muslim", "a bunch a Third World shits invade my country with their socialist communist agenda"
      Then stay divided and vote for Trump or Clinton or whatever. I have nothing else to say to you and you have nothing else to learn. You win the argument. Congratulations.

    I was adopted found out both my parents were Native American my fathers Anishinaabe Odawa Ojibwe Potawatomi and my mother we believe to be Hopi most likely but might be Navajo her great grandmother was Native Indigenous from Jaliso Mexico Unfortunately because I'm 17.5% Indigenous but on 23%Me its 3rd highest % I feel like I finally have an answer. Unfortunately when I went to 2 Powwows because I was of 'Lower Quantum Dirty Blood' I was made fun of, called names and it was a bad experience despite the Sounds at the Powwows and I could feel it coursing in my veins and I felt closer to my Ancestors. Unfortunately because I'm of mixed blood I feel like an outsider, despite trying to learn and wanting to participate and do activities related to my Indigenous Ancestry. I found out I have half sisters who like me have no place to belong in terms of culture identity. Because we are 'mixed Indigenous with other' many like me hope to learn the languages of my ancestors and hope to keep the culture and traditions alive. Even if the community shuns us for be a small %.
