- Wednesday evening men's traditional special... Kahkewistahaw Powwow 2019...
Dang fools are trying to make my videos into a historical political statement... like we don't know the horrific histories and accounts of what the "people" endured... like we need a lesson in it... just trying to spread the beauty of our people and our celebrations, our existence, our healing... find the joy in these videos... that's what i do this for... period!!!

Have always loved the Native American culture, traditions & way of life. I grew up in Davenport,IA & Rock Island,IL. steeped in Blackhawk Tribe culture since I was a kid. My mother has a beautiful oil painting of Chief Blackhawk. Thank you for sharing your lives with us...I've always had ALOT of respect & great admiration for the Native American Indian history/culture... I watch your PowWow videos RELIGIOUSLY! Keep up the great content you bring to us! We LOVE IT!!
This category is our favorite in this powwow so far. We specially liked how "Champion" was acknowledged and not ignored.

Hi Lucinda...Yes they are eh, glad you enjoyed the moment... keep safe eh... :-)
White man took the Chippewa PowWow grounds in Upper Michigan.
Its great to see others Tribes still have theirs.
That's horrible more than enough has been done to these people's beautiful ancestors I wish governments would leave them and everyone alone! We would have all been much better off believing like them everything communal no ownership. Look what the governments way has gotten us all 😔😢😢😢
AWESOME
Tansai from Onion Lake. Good job on the video and everyone (dancers and people) awesome.

Hoka Hey !
Thats in Canada eh.
just north of Broadview Sask... :-)
I would like to better understand the meanings of the Dance moves. The meditative state and full animation that the participants seem to show, tells me this is praying . It that correct? I am ignorant of your ways, and would like to know more.
Men's Traditional Dance is a warrior dance, the "moves" are meant to tell the story of their warrior journeys... The upward stance depicts keeping a lookout of their surroundings... The downward moves depict tracking the enemy... Other moves with Shields up and striking motions depict their battle with the enemy... A simple explanation... :-)
Thank for the explanation . The more I learn about Human behavior, cross culturally, the more I see our similarities. The dance preceded modern movie attempts to share history. I like this better.

The dancers are doing their thing....and doing so nicely, However! the 'onlookers etc. should move out of the way and not be a part of these wonderful dancers.
Those "Onlookers" are there for a reason, they're looking lol...dancers have plenty of space to dance. And saying they're doing it nicely, that's an understatement, they are all doing their native dance beautifully and amazingly! The people who are watching, are seated in chairs and benches and family and friends, too. There are people who help the dancers with water, make sure that everything is perfect. If you like, you can go to these POWWOW's and police the on looker's, I'm sure they'll listen to you. 😁
