Only one problem, if the timing belt brooke, the computer will not shut the engine off and will keep running and damage the valves for sure, you can use that option for short time to drive the car home or to the shop to repair it as soon as possible. Dont drive too long with that.
Ummm, I have used this method for years. It will run without this sensor connected, so to say that this sensor will turn the engine off if the timing belt failed would be incorrect. Also, I have replaced NUMEROUS broken b20 timing belts and not had a single bent valve.
@@hondaresource @The Honda Resource yeh ofcourse, you are an honnest mechanic, your videos on broken timing belt on crv save my car because i was about to junk it, because i thought my car needs a new engine, according to some unexperienced mechanic, and after watching your videos, i towed my car to home and i start repairing it, but i had to order a new crankshaft sensor, because the broken.belt damaged the.sensor, well since everithing is open, i dont have to bypass the sensor for now just replace it.
If the timing belt breaks. The engine will not keep running lmao. How do you suppose to cams and crank will turn in sync with no timing belt?
Hi sir my 98 honda crv also bypass ? thanks
yes, its possible. Just make sure you follow the 97-98 obd2A guide.
I can't find the video for the 97-98 bypass cam you post a link?
Fantastic video. I was able to get rid of the code. As soon as the code has been erased, another one appeared: P1382 which seems to be related to the camshaft position sensor inside the distributor. Now, is there a way to by-pass that sensor like you did with the one involved in P1337? A distributor is aroud $CAN1000...
Thank you.
I would double-check your wiring of the code didn't appear until you performed this
Did you ever solve this? I have the same issue
Not good for 1997?
Anything 96+ this works on or or or you go obd1 tunable chippable ecu this is done automatically since the p28 or p06 never came with a code for ckf because it relys only on 3 sensors and not 4 like obd2 does..
Obd2 needs 4 ignition sensors
And 2 oxygen sensors
While obd1 is only 3 distributor sensors
1 oxygen sensor
@@DJV94022 thank you
I have a 2001 Honda CRv and it suddenly started running like crap. surging, tach stopped working, engine light came on went to Autozone and had the code come up as P0336 CKP sensor A circuit range/performance. I was told I needed a new distributor. Is this correct? could I replace just the sensor instead of the whole distributor?
You can't really just replace the sensor in the distributor. A distributor replacement would also be my recommendation.
@@hondaresource I had a feeling I would have to replace the distributor. 10 months ago I had the same problem with same code and I bought a new distributor. ran fine till now. Being I recently had the timing belt replaced I thought there was a problem with the timing belt install {like not being in exact time} but the car would start right away after the install, then the engine light came on and had the P0339 code sensor A. The distributor has a 2 year warrantee so gonna contact the seller to get a replacement
Thanks you so much
I have honda 98 crv thottle body sensors.when i drive and excelorate it seems asif the car wanna die
do you have a check engine light on?
👍👍
I AM JUST GONNA DO ON MY HONDA CRV 1999 10/07/2022
I am watching keenly. My '99 threw that code on me twice now and sure will bypass it using this method!
Ur handsome ❤
I still have the damn light
is your's 97-98?
I posted my video on UA-cam so let me know
I have that same cheap ass scanner.. it does the job though!!! Lol!!
It's not terrible!
is this the same for knock sensor bypass on b20b swap?
No
