I think I've watched/listened to this performance about 150 times now and I never get tired of the soulful sound , it hits you somewhere between your guts and heart , Appalachian/country music is is so authentic, moving and real it makes you lose your breath , whew !
I remember, years ago, at the old Lonesome Pines festival near Laurel, Mississippi, we were jamming, when a young girl came up with her fiddle, and asked if she could join-in the jam. We were happy to have a fourteen-year-old play along. Later we found out it was Alison Krauss before she became known nationally. Proud we didn't shun her. She would probably shun us now that she is "big time".
Damn! I think I have a new favorite bluegrass song. I heard this song for the first time a while back in Ashville NC. Good ole mountain music. I love the red wood hill too.
Have to agree, I listened to him, here we have a song by 3 different people with 3 different styles. You cant compare one to the other, they are all good in their own way. Wee Haa.
I'm just not sure bluegrass can get any better than this? I tell you what, I kind of envy folks who can do what they love for a living. Perhaps doing it for a living makes it more of a chore, perhaps not.
Why that's the one and only Dan Tyminski. He's been with Alison Krauss and Union Station forever now. Dan usually plays the mandolin or an acoustic guitar.

Gorgeous! Great duet, great sound… I forgot how much I love this!
John Hartford died in 2001 so this gem has decades on it but sparkles true as ever. Dec 2021
Ewww Wee, that's some mighty fine a pickin' and a singin'. Allison and Dan just open their mouths and that comes out....I am always in awe
I don't know any Group that could do that Song That Good !! Hands Down The Best !! Thanks Y'all !!
Thank you, Phish, for turning me on to Allison Krauss!
TALENT ..........
Scalp-tinglingly brilliant.

Excellent
Feeling from the Gut! ❤
The name of this song is "I'm Blue, I'm Lonsome" - written by Hank Williams and Bill Monroe; their only collaboration.
I listened to Bill Munroe do this and he doesnt even come close to this version. Much prefer Alison and Dan.
@@townonhill Heard this song by Don Mclean first, so I'm preferring his version. Not that this isn't good because it's very good.

Just beautiful, thanks ❤😊
Thanks for posting this, great version of this song!!!!
LOVE THIS UPLOAD 💖 BILL would be mighty proud
If Jerry Douglas is ever unavailable then you'd "Better call Saul"
The movie has so many great numbers I would have paid $50 for it instead of the $14 it cost. Union Station is just so so so great.
Which movie
I just got it, paid $20 for it, and if this is any indication, it will be $20 well spent.
AKUS really needs to cut this on a studio album at some point.
On the Album "Down from the Mountain".
Those 8 people need to change the batteries on their hearing aids 🤣😅

The envy I feel for their talent reduces me to tears most times.
Anyone know the name of the male singer?

jaxflfreebird Hey, thanks for the info!
Dan Tyminski, from "Brother Where Art Thou" fame.
司会のバイオリン持った方、バンジョウもひかれめすよね、名前を度忘れして、とても知りたいのです♪彼の他のパホーマンス見たいのです♪教えて下さい🙏
Alison Krauss and Reba McEntire has the same singing style.
Obviously not
