During the last few videos, I have seen Hunter helping his dad on different jobs, I have been watching a young man starting to learn a trade, which will someday help his dad to retire and watch this same young man become a smart businessman like his dad. Be proud Pop.
You’re right shouldn’t have to fix new parts from a well known manufacturer the time wasted to fix their parts should not cost you therefore they should compensate you for the time and the fix you had to endurer so you could finish the job for the costumer and cause of the Covid quality did go down hill due to employees not working and some that stayed working lacked experience in some parts of the process hopefully it will get back to normal soon but Hunter and you did a great job and always showing good faith in a not so great condition 👍😎🇺🇸NY
Your sons have grown up in the shop working on equipment, by the time they are adults they will be experts. You have given them something they will have forever. A profession and a great memory of working with dad.
Wish I could still work with mine miss him so much that empty chair cuts deep best belive it if your dad is still around include him in everything you do
Clint it is so awesome working with your son, not only are you passing on valuable knowledge to him, you get to spend time and build memories....you are both mighty lucky ! I'm sure you already know this...
Great job Hunter and Clint!!!!! Another interesting video as always guys. Keep them coming. We need a painting video Clint. From degreasing and any prep work, to primer and paint. We need to see how you make your stuff look just about new! Awesome shop and setup you gentlemen have. We guys eats this stuff up. Stay busy!
You do great work on everything I have watched. Yes you should send John Deere a bill for fixing your mess up. I like everything you do keep it up and stay safe. 🎉🎉
This is an outstanding video, very helpful. It is shocking that the manufacturer has not done something like it themselves. Then again, he said the winch arrives with no instructions from JD.....
Don't you have two sons? We seem to see Hunter more than the other son. Doesn't he like working in the shop? Another great video of you working with Hunter and seeing how he seems to want to learn it all. Also Clint keeps these videos coming because they are so much fun to watch and listen to you explaining it all.
I believe John Deere was in a hurry when they made the mounting bracket glad it worked out well another fantastic 5 ⭐ video you and Hunter make a fabulous Father & son team God bless y'all from South Carolina viewer
It is great to see business and the owner who cares about his customers. Good job of knowing what needs to be "altered" to make it look like the customer wants for his needs.
Nice video and you find a solution to make it work so great work... About John deer they need too know this problem, so they have a chance to improve forward... not knowing a problem it’s hard to fix it... you need to help them too get better... father and son you are great together...
It is getting tiresome of listening to manufacturing companies using COVID as an excuse for manufacturing errors, delayed shipments, supply chain issues. When are they going to realize that the transition from reason to excuse is a very short step. The quality control in factories needs to do a better job also, it’s one thing to be late , but no excuse for late and wrong both. The unfortunate part of this whole thing is the service companies are left holding the bag and taking the heat for the “ COVID” excuse. Ok, enough ranting, nice job C&C, as usual. Hunter is going to be a good man around the shop. Thanks for the vid.
When lining up the winch to that mounting frame make up a set of bolts with no heads on them and put a slot on the top of the bolt so you can remove them with a screwdriver. The bolts then make it easy to line up the two parts, you do not need a bolt for every hole just some to get it lined up. You could even make a set out of longer rods for when you put the whole unit on the back of the cat.
Good job you done well since your mishap with Dirt perfect. Actually im glad because i now watch your channel and see first hand how professional you really are. A rear coencedent that a employee would actually do something crazy to hurt your business.
We definitely like prakly ever thing you guys install or build , it's pleasure watching experience at work. I just lost my youngest brother to Liver cancer, 68 years old, he experience like you folks, he do just about anything, wood work he was an artist, Mechanic work he loved rebuilding several td 6 crawlers, he would completely tear them down and make them look like the day were built. He did Harvester, just talented guy. It's shame when a person dies they take all that talent and knowledge with them.
On the issue of having to rework the tabs that were too high, please do file the case report; if they don't know they've got an inspection miss, it'll just be more of the same. As an add, if they allow comments, tell JD to add a "go-no go" check gauge to the final inspection checklist and it won't happen again. JD is at least "ISO 9000" certified so you can tell them if you don't hear back, you will be filing the report to their Qualifying Body (easy to find on the Internet). Otherwise, great video and GREAT JOB Hunter !!! Have your Dad's back when he forgets to put primer over the grinding and Locktite on all bolts ;) Happy Holidays ... what an enjoyable video guys !!! What a TEAM !!!
... and do add a pic of the "Baby Shit Orange" paint ... I'd have somebody's arse in the Paint Shop for something like that ... it's not like there is EVER color variation in and "All Yellow" Paint Shop !!! Holy Crap !!! I am so sad to see these little things ... 4 decades in Aerospace QA, it drives me nuts !!! But bet you a dollar to a donut that those brackets got "out sourced" and somebody dropped the ball at JD and didn't give the Sub the correct paint chip or mix formula. COVID SUCKS !!!
Great video and thanks for not adding stupid music when fast-forwarding. I spent a lot of years completing various installations on Military vehicles for 27 years. The only two suggestions I would offer is to use a torque wrench on all those nuts and the very least is a hand ratchet. The other thing is to at least prime the exposed areas which you cut out for your modifications so they don't rust so quickly. It would be nicer to apply the final coat with matching color.
It appears the old addage of "good enough" is still alive and being sent out for the customer to make it work. Sad like you say all have that problem at one time or another. luckily you have the knowledge and are passing it along to you Son.
me acabo de suscribir y te felicito por los trabajos que haces estan muy bien explicados y que tu hijo aprenda porque nadie se lo arrebatara ni quitara y le serviran en el futuro saludos desde saltillo mexico
It seems like the end user is in charge of quality control and research and development, sure you can return the deflective parts but there is no guarantee of the return of correct parts yet in a timely manner. nice job guys!
great job you and hunter did installing the winch, quality aside. You have a top shelf shop and it shows in the quality of your work. Keep up the great videos. A painting video would be awesome as some of your viewers mentioned.
I suspect they didn't have the washers as specified and used others. Someone subbed. And it made you remember and work more. Maybe washers on the bottom not top !
Anytime I have to line up something like that l always make some line up pins. Basically long bolt with the head cut off in the holes. You made it look easy though
Sorry to say if you ever had a cut off wheel break and fly off you would never take the shield off it really doesn’t get in the way be safe your family needs you thank you
Looks like you have installed at least one of these before... hahaha... Nice work, and nice that you have an apprentice there to learn the trade. Great video, Thank you sir.
Clinton when you go round an auction can. You buy a cheap piece of poop and do an auction buy series something out of the ordinary I watch all your videos I admire you as a person dad and boss good luck
Workers don't seem to care in any field. Worse is the companies don't seem to either. Inferior parts and service should be met with lower pricing. Instead we get crapier products that they want more money for.
Thank you greatly for the video. I'm planning to install a winch on my Case 1150M early next year so this video was helpful. John Deere should do a better job with their parts or deduct for your time.
Awesome job gentlemen...hunter is like your second hand...what happen to the grave digging project...those huge tiers where to much attention to keep ..l bet ..would love to watch you and your team (mad monster minds) make something totally mad monster truck...any way keep watching ...
Yes it’s fine, you’re luck that washer was the only problem. For me you could sit the camera on a tripod maybe 6’ back giving you 2 hand to work with. Some guys talk about what they are doing while looking at the camera instead of turning the camera on what they are talking about. You do good showing us what your hands are doing but we don’t need 24/7 closeup. I mean I know what putting bolts in a hole is, maybe some people don’t. Stay safe
I have likewise had issues with tractor parts, truck parts and generator parts taking weeks to get. I even had GM deny sending a part to a dealer because other dealers were in line first and had to go with an after market part. It’s time to get this country back to work
That sort of thing pisses me off. You didn't negotiate a second hand rate, you purchased a new product. Cheers from NZ. By the way, DP got me onto ur channel.
The entire issue of Covid -19 and destruction of the economy should be placed in the lap of our BROKEN GOVERNMENT. Term limits would be a good starting point and the government needs to develop a balanced budget Legislation. The present party wants Socialized Medication and eliminate private business. God Bless you guys and be careful working with all the heavy parts.
Awesome job and video, keep them coming. Must have been the welders first day and put the wrong thickness spacer on it. Probably trained by the guy who picked the wrong color of yellow.
Looking at the bench full of parts, I thought, where's the instructions??? Then Clint says, "there isn't any instructions with these things???? Experience, experience, experience!!
Bad part is that all those companies sub out body panels and brackets to other manufacturing companies that their employees aren't as concerned about quality because they aren't payed that much. I know because that was my first couple welding jobs
Nice job! You need to send Deere a back charge bill for the time you spent fixing their issue. Yes it's a pain and no you probably won't get any $$ BUT! If we just find a work around and don't push back we are accepting shoddy work. Would your customers accept shoddy work? Bet not!

Great video, Clint. So true about poor quality workmanship. Does seem to be industry wise. Personally, don't think workers care anymore.
