Rare Catch at Springfield Union Station

- Hello, Railfans! Mr. Conductor from Shining Time Station Railfan here welcoming all back to my YT Channel. In this video, I’m at Springfield Union Station. I saw the RAREST catch of Amtrak. 2 Metroliner Cab Cars were coupled up each other, just like the old days ever since Pennsylvania Railroad and Penn Central for test runs, and Penn Central and Amtrak for Revenue Run until 1980s. It was actually a double Hartford trains were coupled up each other. And for Lake Shore Limited, I saw the first 4 cars were uncoupled from Albany while the rest of the consist were heading back to New York Penn Station. Speaking of Lake Shore Limited, I saw 3 P42DC’s were leading, but 77 wasn’t powered up, because it got a shattered windows and was thrown by rocks from a trespasser. Before the Lake Shore Limited came, I just saw a dead hawk on Track 7 after the train hitted. That’s all I have to say. Thank you for watching, and I hope you enjoy it.

The 2 Metroliner cabs coupled facing says it all about why the diaphragms should never have been removed and the cab ends plated over.
Thank you SO MUCH for using timestamps! It makes it soooo much easier to view & find what I'm looking for. So few of us (railfans) use them, or even know what they are. So it's nice to see someone who does. Bravo.
At your service! Glad it was helpful!
very interesting
Glad you think so!
Super good Video! Thumbs Up! LIKE

Oh. How didn’t I realize it. Thanks 🙏, but still 😞 about that
Also, nice job of including the "original" (as in when they were EMUs) numbers of the Metroliner Cab Cars.
Thank you 😊
Brilliant video! Finally I have my new iPhone 14 Pro Max
Congratulations
Wow that is nice, 0:27
Thanks 🙏
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome catch! Do you know if passengers can still walk in between the metroliner cabs when they're coupled like that, or are the vestibules blocked off?
Unfortunately, Only one set that they can climb aboard.
Why is the door on the right side of the Metroliner cab car removed?
For safety for drivers
Have the new Chargers been spotted in Springfield yet?
Not yet.
Is 77 being transported for repairs, or are they simply using it as power while keeping it from leading?
Oh nvm saw description
Onion Station
Hi is there any csx or ns going through here? Great video
I hadn’t seen, I stayed for just an hour
i thought P40s were replaced by Chargers
Some Long Distance Routes like Lake Shore, Sunset Limited, Texas Eagle, Southwest Chief were still remain with Genesis P42DC, and soon in the next few months or years, they’ll soon receive ALC-42 Chargers, as well as soon for Auto Train
Palmetto was the first Intercity Route for ALC-42 Chargers
@@mr.conductorfromsts4204 kk
as of right now, the Hartford Line has P42DC's
@@HartfordLine6707 You got that right.
