this is gas, I always issues syncing my one flash. To be fair it is a cheap flash (TT600 with a X2T). What flash trigger do you use? any tips for making the flash syncs up well ? Have the ad 600 or 200 ever given you issues ?
only tip i would give is to have ur model or client move up like 3 feet and get a lil space between them and the backdrop and lower the strobe hight just a a lil bit ...but other wise good content sir
This is an excellent video overall and super helpful for many people. One suggestion is to bring the lights down a little lower when you are dealing with any players wearing hats. This helps you to avoid aggressive shadows on the face you can notice in some shots. It additionally helps limit the silhouette shadow you can see on the backdrop paper. Luckily, with the editing in the post, you can get rid of those pretty easily, regardless
Good stuff! One tip for baseball is to set your key at chest level, so you can fill in the shadow under the player's hat and have their face lit. It'll save you a lot of time in editing ;)
If you mentioned these somewhere in the video and I missed it, I apologize. What aperture do you shoot at for this type of shoot? How far from the backdrop do you place the subject and lights? What camera white balance setting do you use?
White balance I usually keep on Auto, F-stop is kept at 2.8 unless I'm shooting multiple subjects, and I dont have a set distance for how far the lights should be. Just know the farther they are, the more light drop off you'll have. So distance is based on the look you are going for.
Amazing video! Question about the backdrop, how do you manage to keep it clean with athletes stepping on it, and does it tear easily? Would a white vinyl backdrop be a more durable option? Thanks!
I just hit my 1 year mark since jumping into photography/videography! I wish I found this video sooner! Great content! Out of curiosity why you use backdrop paper over cloth?
i bought a 2 set of 300W, same brand. and ill be doing outside, but im planning doing inside aswell to get some extra money with other teams. you think I can get that same level of quality using a "weaker flash stand"?
also make sure when using C stands the big long leg is pointing in towards ur client ...they should not be facing outward and also put some weights on them to keep them safe for ppl
Just recently picked up the ad200 can’t quite afford the ad600 😅 but do you think the ad200 is enough to get quality media day pictures and if so what would you recommend I do?
You can also get another Ad200 and there is an adapter from Godox where you can put them together and turn them into a 400 watts strobe. Works wonders.

Use the native trigger to your camera brand. That way there will be no issues.
@@DTVprods. thanks bro i’ll try that !
Consistent dtv??!🤔🤔
This is the video i have been looking for thank you!!

I appreciate it! I'll try these tips in my next shoot.
How much do you typically charge per team session?

Looks amazing! Just a quick question as I'm looking for some compact alternatives. Would a AD200 Pro in combination with a V1 work as well? Thank you!

Have you ever done this but outdoors? like players in motion possibly?
I haven’t done any outdoor media days. A school hasn’t requested that from me yet.

How do I keep the people from looking orange using lights? Is there something in camera I should adjust?

Thank you for the tips, you're a good teacher.

Great video. Great explanation. You've gained a new subcriber.

Hey man what computer do you use to edit? And which version of Lightroom?
I had a PC built for my specific needs. Nothing too crazy. Regular Lightroom, not CC

100% the ad200 is enough
Just go to a deep shadowed look on 1 side of the subject's face. Perfect concepts for 1 light media days

Width on the backdrop paper?
This was great thank you 🙏🏼
So simple and great teaching.
how long does editing take
Was the gym light bright enough to help with the background? It looks nice and level! No extra lights lighting the background?
Hello, quick question, during media day you shoot RAW or Jpeg?
Raw
When you use the generative fill, isn't it limited to 1024 pixels by 1024 pixels? so if you use it for the whole image you'll run into jpeg artefacts?
I have 0 idea what you mean😂 I don’t know too much about generative fill, I just know how to use it for the work I do.
What are the dimensions on your paper
Have you done a green screen media day? A club have approached me about media days. I've never done one before 😮
Do you buy or use your own presets ?
I use my presets
@@DTVprods. do you have w a video on how you make presets ?
How do I make my own photography website for free
Bro I love this video
I learned a lot
