crazy to thinks they spent their first 15 years ,struggling financially to make a decent living of their music mostly living with their concerts and now i'm glad they got the recognition they deserve
This song.... this song is one of the most espiritual - heavy songs out there. That outro.. total goosebumps. Joe with those really really low notes. It’s pure throat ability. Amazing.

These guys are straight up amazing. Their music hits sweet spots ranging from spiritual journey to total obliteration, often inside the same song... I can't even express how unique and vital they are in my playlist these days.

Gojira - Blow Me Away You - Niverse live 2004 (the link), do it, NOW! Seriously, you guys have no clue how much you're missing out. I'm one of the people who's seen all your Gojira videos and suggested many of the earlier gojira stuff, trust me, you'll jam to this for days.
The version they played at Hellfest 2019 to me was EVEN BETTER. While the version that you mentioned had their young ferocity, the version from 2 years ago was their more mature sound.

Best band in the world
I remember seeing this live during the NA tour in Montréal in 2008 when the album came out, they played the outro much longer than on the album and it was mesmerizing with the video in the background. Then at the end when the show was over Mario and Jean-Michel stayed a while longer and jumped off stage to talk to the fans, we were maybe 200-300 people who attended. Best show I've ever been to in my life.

Hello from New England..Just when you thought Mario has topped himself they come along with a song like this.. Joe's live vocals have a depth and emotional impact that the records don't truly capture... Simply crushing riffage ✌️🤘👍

Personally my favorite song, and also, this live performance in Garorock is also one of their best imo, same with their Flesh Alive DVD.
2009 ,Joe is in his prime here he had that raspyness in his voice that he lost a bit because of aging and the time ( from his own words ,his vocal tone has changed through the years because he's getting older he has to adapt himself ) of course he still sounds great today ,but those days were savage , From the sky from the same concert is great too :)
His voice changed the most between TWOAF and L'Enfant Sauvage. It became less aggressive but it actually followed quite well their musical evolution. I wouldn't say that 2008/2009 was when he had his best voice though, for example his current way of singing goes really well with Fortitude's style.
@@bousculade1035 yeah .. i wonder what happened though .aging might be a reason like he said .but maybe too much tour .;or he pushed too much on his voice during 2009 /2010..but it doesn't matter i just love his voice in general , but in 2009 his voice was more raw which i like ,the live at the eurockeennes is a good example
The high note he holds while screaming "FROM THE SKYYYYYYY" at this concert is... I don't know of any similar sound (maybe a whale)

Man I want to see them live so bad, missed them last year due to a friend who had the tickets relapsing with heroin (he's fine now) and this year due to covid. Doesn't look like they will come to the Netherlands again soon but third times the charm i hope..

Regarding blocks by WMG, I heard another reactor mention that only songs that have been released as a single are blocked within a few minutes after uploading. The other songs on their new album however, seem to be less prone to blocks. So you might want to start with “Hold On”. If it doesn’t get blocked, just work your way down through the rest of the album.
I saw them and Meshuggah live in 2012! The Soundwave Metal festival in Perth. Devin Townsend joined Gojira on stage to sing a song he co wrote with them and Frederik Thordenhal the guitarist from Meshuggah was also on stage with Gojira to play with them live for one very special song played live for the very first time. I recorded that and it is on my YT channel but the audio sucks plus I was far away from the stage...
This is Gojira man, simply Gojira. Don’t forget, this was 12 years ago or so, and Joe’s voice has a hard time keeping up, as he said hemself in a recent interview. I think they’re past their prime in terms of live performances. It’s still is incredible and above the rest imo, but don’t expect it to be like their old shows. Yama’s Messenger from the same album / Indians Live at Vieilles Charrues / embrace the world Link Alive / Love live at Rio are all great tracks

yeah ..it's a bit a pity that they don't have a good feeling about "the link" anymore ,joe have a hard time listening some songs ,he doesn't like them anymore , Mario and jean michel ..even though they still like the songs in it they don't picture themself playing these songs live again .;because it reminds them not a very good period of their lives ..and they judge it ,too ambitious experimental..,and it doesn't fit what they want to hear from gojira ,something like that
My favorite song by them! Finally you reacted to it! The live version from Bordeaux is better than the one you watched in my opinion though. But this one is good too.
Great reaction as usual! Now that you're familiar with the live version, make sure you try the studio version too, the production of this album is insane and there's a lot of details there that you can only hear clearly in the original. Also, can we talk about the fact that Joe actually does the tibetan throat singing part? How awesome is that??? This band is ridiculous.
About the new songs and the copyright thing: that is definitely true for the singles, but I've seen a couple other channels post reactions to the other songs a couple weeks ago and the videos are still there. Maybe you could try one of those? This new album has some true Gojira gems that are not singles (as usual). My suggestion would be Hold On, in my opinion it encapsulates the spirit and overall message of the album, but I sure hope you guys can do the entire thing eventually lol
If the copyright thing remain a problem and you guys feel like trying another older live performance I suggest The Axe live at Brixton Academy (the same show of the Gift of Gilt video you reacted too), that's definitely a face-melting one.
