The monsters adapted and stopped shrieking and started talking when Boyd found the talismans. They had to change so they could continue to hunt them, but this time using their ability to lie, seduce or deceive. Boyd himself confirmed this in some episode.
I figured the trees were different for each new arrival because they come from all over (also, that's the reason for the name of the show: "Where the heck did YOU come from?"). Everyone gets a tree localized to where they were when they were chosen.
Not to change the subject but this is a perfect example of a show of why theses actors & writers need to be compensated for their work. Without them we wouldn’t be able to have & enjoy these type of conversations & experiences. Their arts & talents span the damn globe. Can you imagine a world without?
"we having town hall meetings every day. Have you heard some voices today? Let me know. Have you had any visions? Talk about it. Background story? Write it down" 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭💯💯
Having town meeting every day sounds good in theory, but consider this. We (the audience) are privy to a lot more information than all the residents of "FROMVILLE." Nevertheless, We (the audience) collectively still have so many unanswered questions the main one being how do we escape "FROM?" How did the residents mysteriously arrive there when they all came from different parts of the country and were traveling in different directions? Why is it that any attempts to leave "FROM" brings you right back into "FROM?" You mentioned the "have you heard some voices today?" and "have you had any visions?" On face value these appear to be good questions, however, I am not so sure that the residents would believe you if you told them about the "visions" and the "voices?" They might assume you are losing your mind and going crazy (remember in "Pas de Deux" when Boyd was trying to tell Kenny about the worms and then the Ballerina appeared (she ascended from the cellar in the woods). Kenny was dismissive of Boyd and assumed he was starting to exhibit signs of early dementia like his father did. Kenny actually perceived Boyd as a potential threat when he finally saw the worms, and was later attacked in his dream by the cicada that burned his arm. There are other instances that have occurred in "FROM" that I could mention (Sara, Jade, Tabitha, Ethan, Elgin, Victor), but I am not sure that the residents would be prepared to believe them? One more thing, there are 2 entities within "FROM" one is good and one is evil, and both have the ability to communicate with certain people.
Colony house is stupid to start with , a whole bunch of people(some dont even know eachother)living together getting drunk at night , while the slightest slip up could mean the end of your life .
I think Abby had been to the town before, when she was a child, and got out. That's why she remembered the town. She said it was a dream, but I think it was actually a memory.
After watching the season several times, I think it's clear that the town manifests people's subconscious hopes and fears. The food appears like that for Mrs Lieu and the Talismans and livestock appeared for Boyd. On the negative side, we have Abby's fears and Sarah's remembering how her brother was terrified of Cicadas. She gave the evil entity a tool to work from with that negative memory. Maybe Boyd manifested the rope he used to climb up from that well too...
@@EmansReviews i have seen all your videos a couple of times now. I was watching episode three just now and I realized that there's an even FIFTY PEOPLE IN FROMVILLE. At the Choosing Ceremony, we see 46 people- add to that number Kenny's dad, his nurse and the mother and daughter that the Grannie Monster killed in the first episode. Fifty. A nice round number. (Toby didn't count as he was added and killed the same day. When you add in the four Matthews family members and Jade, you get five (bringing things up to 51 briefly) but then we get the Colony House massacre and Father Kathri's death- all of which are replaced exactly by the survivors from the bus. Not the total bus arrivals, but the SURVIVORS. That's some real predestination at work there.
I definitely believe things change, appear, disappear. Victor said the trees were moving. Fast forward to season 3.and there is mention of the motel sign but no motel. Where did the motel move to and how come no one noticed?
11:57 Exactly! You don't have to trust someone like a bestie when you are in this situation. But get the basics through minimal communication. Kevin's actor must hear "Dumb Dumb Kevin" on the daily.
Dying and waking up holds some validity since the end of season two homegirl is pushed out a high light tower presumably dying but waking up in the “real” world
Thank you for saying that‼️They should be talking about everything if they’re having weird dreams they should be talking about it they hear voices they should be talking about if they saw something they should be talking about it. I understand why these people aren’t talking about everything they try to get out of this place. It’s like they don’t wanna go home.
Thank you so much for this retrospective. Your recaps inspire me (and many others) to view the narrative from a fresh angle. Now, I'm boarding the Odin train: - The fallen tree hints at Yggdrasil the world tree connecting the nine realms. The fact that it fell might indicate an impending apocalypse and allude to his sacrifice in the name of wisdom. - Once he gained said wisdom, he could cure the sick (Boyd in a sense), calm storms (Lighthouse?), turn weapons against his attackers (Boyd weaponizing the worms against Smiley). - Odin was also a shapeshifter, adopting the form of another person or an animal. He could travel as a bird (ravens) or an animal (dog/s), a fish (Mr. Fish&Loaf?) or a snake (which hasn't popped up on the show yet, right?). - He was accused of "unmanly behavior" when he beat the drum (Jade playing the violin) and practiced prophecy (Elgin, Jade and Tabitha's visions). - The wolf (several appearances of the dog/s) and the raven are dedicated to him. - His magical horse, Sleipnir, had eight legs - just like spiders. - Odin was the great magician among the gods and associated with runes (talismans). - This one's a stretch tying him to Martin: He was a tall, old man, with flowing beard [and only one eye, which obviously doesn't apply]. - He was also a poet god (Ethan, Victor, Tom?). So, is he trying to breathe aspects / personality slivers of himself into different people? Does he intend to warn the world if impending doom, regain his godly powers through global worship or simply escape this realm that seems to be infested with Eldritch abominations (ballerina)? Edit: Boyd seems to be positioned as Odin's avatar due to his incessant curiosity. His special status would discount town being populated by nothing but morons. Maybe only he is meant to see and find sustenance and protection in the woods. Not sure whether my notbook's bugging out but at one point it looked as though Ellis had only one eye (the other one being swollen shut). With Boyd's blood transfusion saving him, it might be Ellis who's being groomed as the next Odin.
And how hi up was this? Assuming it was in a bedroom with carpet or a rug the baby could have been seriously injured, but I doubt he would have died.....
Can see your point. What happened to Abby will provide clues. Boyd went into full problem solver for the town. Weird how sometimes we help everyone but don't see the ones closest to us crying out for help. Hoping we see this part of the story.
Okay I have a Theorie, that I haven't seen anywhere else. Now I think everything IS a dream, but not for the villagers. Has anyone recognized, that there is so much pointing on children storys? Like the title of one episode being once upon a time..., the music box is a kids one, the nursery ryme etc. etc. I think those "ghost"-children are in a coma in the hospital tabitha woke up at. All the storys that are told to them, read to them, the songs that are sung to them etc. Manifest in their dreamworld but kind of cursed and twisted because they are afraid, not knowing what is going on. The logo of the hospital kind of reminds me of the symbol, that jade is seeing all the time, but as if someone is recreating it wothout remembering properly, so the curves aren't 100% right. And all these villagers and people that get drawn into that dreamworld of those children have a connection to those children. The boy in white could be some kind of combined subconsciousness of those children, which tries to help the villagers to see through the twisted half remembering creepy mess those scared "ghost"-children created. How and why i don't know, probably it is really some kind of experiment gone wrong by doctors or some Nightmare is feeding of those girls or whatever, that's something where clues are still missing.
Dogs in the spiritual realm are like guardians they also warn you of danger close by … throwing that out there I also think the dog is Eloise 😭😭😭💕 but I’m sleepy. Byeeeee
@8:15 Im pretty sure Donna said "17" people died in Colony House. If I was mistaken and she said "14" then that defeats the entire theory that the town has a population quota. 22 dead and 25 came on the bus.
Regardless of what's happening to the residents of this weird town, they seem to have some kind of connection that draws them in. I think either these people are connected somehow by their past or ancestors or this town, if that is even what it really is, is pulling in people who have recently experienced some kind of life changing event or maybe have experienced strong emotion. Granted we don't know every single person's story, but we know Boyd and his family were experiencing joy. Boyd was retiring and his wife had just bought him a boat. Jim and Tabitha lost a child and were on the brink of a divorce, Kenny and his mom found the dad wandering around by himself because of his dementia. Kenny was distraught and Tian Chen was angry about it. Jade was celebrating selling his company, Father Khatri was contemplating suicide, Sarah seemed to be fleeing an abusive relationship, etc. There seems to be a pattern among the main characters.
20:04 The fact that people wait until the last two episodes of the season to discuss their findings is what convinced me to not watch future seasons. The writers intentionally make the characters stupid. I’m not dumping on anyone’s fandom but I can’t do it!😂
I don't know if it is stupid. I just think if i am teleported in such a world where everything is agressive against me and wants me to die and how agressive even the people are acting (i am for example extremely mad about how they treat victor, even jim who could think 'how would eathen develop if he grows up here for 20-30 years and we were killed in that timespan') i dont think i'd be sitting there, discussing with them my deepest thoughts and dreams, especially not my visions since how fast they are with mocking your sanety and telling to have an eye on you since you are loosing it. Also may I remind you what happened with Randel after Jim discussed his theory with him? One Randel nearly killing Jim, Boyd and Dana would be enough, now think how 10 Randels would be after the meetings.
lol so you can wrap your head around magic monsters and a town that you drive through over and over and can’t leave but people acting dumb is too unrealistic? Lmao it’s called suspension of disbelief. I hate the the way the main parents act and behave I don’t let it ruin the whole show for me lol
I did notice when They did Boyd's flash back there were times it appeared the were driving a lot faster just before they came to the fallen tree. They were also carrying a load so their speed didn't really seem proper for the load they were carrying
What if those talismans aren’t literally magical but instead they’re just new rules to the game the monsters play, like when kids play a game where they have so many rules for any reason 😂
It is interesting too that the Forrest has often provided for the group while people stick to the routine of hiding at night but now that they're digging so much those provisions are in question and the dynamic between them and the evil changes the more they push. Like is that a warning to stop or does it mean they're onto something so it's getting more defensive? Hard to know
Boyd brought back the talismans, but he didn't know how they worked. There must have been a period of trial and error before they understood the rules.
Abby. Was. Right. I think this is one of those cases and we've seen this in numerous shows/movies/etc where the people that seem crazy or delusional, are the ones thats probably the most sane because they are sensing things that others aren't. From the beginning when are introduced to Abby, she always seemed more defensive than anyone else.
I kind of agree with you because I had a changing table with my daughter and there was a seatbelt on that damn changing tables so if you needed to walk away. You could buckle that baby up. I’m not sure why she didn’t buckle that baby up… also walking away from a baby on a changing table to answer a phone is crazy. When I say walk away, I mean to grab the wipes off of the bed or something not into another room.
Father Kathri was killed because whatever it is in the forest dont want him to join Boyd in the quest to find an answer. Father Kathri is a church man and maybe the evil entity dont want him there in the forest.
Before Kathri was killed, Boyd and him had this conversation about Sara being the key to getting out of Fromville, also he suggested that he and Sara go with Boyd to find answers. Also, the way he was killed was like he was targeted because that monster just appeared out of nowhere and remember that the monster dont just kill right away, they like to play around their victim.
I thought myself they just wanted to kill hope. Like Abbey said in season 2. Maybe she wasn't necessarily lying but bending the truth. What way of losing hope/faith than killing a priest. I feel this was a writing decision from the start and not done accidentally. He had also served his purpose in allocating roles to people. He guides boyd a lot. Maybe boyd wouldn't be sheriff or even really care if it wasn't for khatris influences. He was their literal and spiritual guide as they entered the town. Now that boyd is ready to get these people home... perhaps his purpose was reached. I think if he had survived til season 3 we might have got a bit sick of the whole "gods plan" palaver. Place and a time and all that. I think he served his purpose. That role he had may shift. Maybe rotate between Catholic and protestant. Like they say in GoT ..a stark must always be in winterfell. Perhaps roles like that exist here? Even the monsters have roles so to speak. Milkman and nurse etc.
@@darinbhoy Since Abbey died she has appeared to Boyd several times: 1. In the forest covered by spiderwebs. 2. In the RV when Boyd, Donna, Jim and Randall were trapped in the RV. 3. In the Dungeon when he was about to destroy the music box. First and foremost, I do not believe that is Abbey, but instead the evil entity attempting to prevent Boyd from saving the residence of "FROM." Each time she attempts to prevent him from progressing and basically tells him to give up the people are going to die anyway.
Abbey was dealing with the weight of the situation. Part of her couldn't process the reality of the occurrences in the town, and she snapped. If we knew about Abbey's dream, it might answer the question. At this point, the only way the dream would be revealed is from the Abbey apparations.
What if the trees being uprooted prevents you from leaving? Faraway trees allow you to travel, so I guess dead trees prevent you from leaving. Could be something there.
People get stuck on different roads in different places of the country, different states, different weather, etc, that's why the trees are different. Simple as that.
EMan I think you’re 💯% right about paying attention to Boyd and his “boat song”. In the cave paintings there is a depiction of a river with people in boats 🛶 possibly entering Fromland, maybe not, but either way the water I believe is a big clue of some sort. I thinks thats why we have a light house but for sone reason we haven’t seen any bodies of water.(except for the brundles) Anyways back to the point I think Boyd is going to need a “boat” and find the river or sone kind of body of water to find a way out of Fromville…. What you think?
@@RockyDaTherapist That’s right I completely forgot about that… Word on the street, the writers are gonna merge the 2 shows… Lost is in a different “pocket universe” where our Sheriff Boyd’s name is Michael… Walt is Michaels son as Ellis is Boyd son. Both stuck in a nightmarish situation, only one is from Lostville and the other is Fromville. How’s that for a theory?? Dam I think I may need therapy due to this show…
Do you think the structure with the talismans was actually meant to trap something within that was released when removed, like an evil consciousness? And if so, could its release be connected with why the creatures changed behavior?
As I said under another comment, it is actually an understandable and good thing, that there are no town meetings: I don't know if it is stupid. Sarah killed Jade's friend Tobey in cold blood by stabbing a knife through his head then cutting him open! Thats a lot more than, "did some bad things"! The only redemption is if people she killed go back home.
Eman its not odd at all for a son to be upset about his father killing his mother even to save his life! Its complicated. Im 100% sure Ellis would trade the Talismans to have his mom back.
Do you think the fish and loaf reference is supposed to imply Boyd is a JC figure? He constantly sacrifices himself and saves people….devil tempts him…makes me think of either savior complex or even job being tested.
Also remember while Boyd was out in the woods he was hallucinating and hearing all kinds of voices like his wife tempting him to do wrong or bad or stupid decisions like when Jesus went through his forty days in the desert and the Devil tempted him.
Here's the thing about Colony House vs. the town. They are both in this together. They both need to eat. They both have to worry about the monsters. None of them were born there. No one has a claim on the place. Ain't nobody got a job. It's all one town. Donna and Boyd are the natural leaders. Donna was right, everyone should share the found resources. Whatever the Matthews had in their RV should be considered their's. So whatever you drive in with is yours. Trudy went a little beyond what that should've covered. But everyone should chill tf out and get on the sharing train. You best believe I'd pull out my angry mom card. When my kids fight, I lose my shit on all of them. What that does is put them back in an allied position. I make myself the biggest enemy they have to worry about. They start buddying back up again because with an enemy like me, they need each other, periodt.
Why didnt Donna back up the father by saying she heard the voice on the radio? What if Fatima made the talismans? Boyd son, did he ever have a girlfriend before the trip?
The monsters adapted and stopped shrieking and started talking when Boyd found the talismans. They had to change so they could continue to hunt them, but this time using their ability to lie, seduce or deceive. Boyd himself confirmed this in some episode.

You are the best!! Thank-you for making me laugh at such an insane show! I would totally vote you as the Sheriff!!
I'd be down for a prequel show. Like a year before they had the talismans. Maybe even decades before in the 70s. Just one season.
Father K's death was not good. Waste. But that did knock sense into Sarah. But you're right about her just not following orders!
That was definitely a Walking Dead move. Killing off a vital, likeable and original character just for shock value.
I think a big part pf any chance at going home has to do with forgiveness. Not just each other but of self.
Father Kathri was killed because whatever it is in the forest dont want him to join Boyd in the quest to find an answer. Father Kathri is a church man and maybe the evil entity dont want him there in the forest.
Not really. It wasn’t like he was specifically targeted. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
He should've been a season 2 death. I thought his character was killed off way too early.
@@darinbhoy Since Abbey died she has appeared to Boyd several times:
Thank you. Need this for every single episode. I’m so confused. Finished season 2
Abbey was dealing with the weight of the situation. Part of her couldn't process the reality of the occurrences in the town, and she snapped. If we knew about Abbey's dream, it might answer the question. At this point, the only way the dream would be revealed is from the Abbey apparations.
Anything Victor AND Ellis has drawn in paper.
What if the trees being uprooted prevents you from leaving? Faraway trees allow you to travel, so I guess dead trees prevent you from leaving. Could be something there.
And Victor said to Ethan the trees moved 4 inches closer.
People get stuck on different roads in different places of the country, different states, different weather, etc, that's why the trees are different. Simple as that.
The tree that fell in the road had a talisman stuck to it . U can see it good in the first episode
Yasss beeen waiting 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
please we want the complete series
EMan I think you’re 💯% right about paying attention to Boyd and his “boat song”. In the cave paintings there is a depiction of a river with people in boats 🛶 possibly entering Fromland, maybe not, but either way the water I believe is a big clue of some sort. I thinks thats why we have a light house but for sone reason we haven’t seen any bodies of water.(except for the brundles) Anyways back to the point I think Boyd is going to need a “boat” and find the river or sone kind of body of water to find a way out of Fromville…. What you think?
Interesting! 🤔
That’s how his character on Lost left the island 🤔
@@RockyDaTherapist That’s right I completely forgot about that… Word on the street, the writers are gonna merge the 2 shows… Lost is in a different “pocket universe” where our Sheriff Boyd’s name is Michael… Walt is Michaels son as Ellis is Boyd son. Both stuck in a nightmarish situation, only one is from Lostville and the other is Fromville. How’s that for a theory?? Dam I think I may need therapy due to this show…
@@MrJaeBoogie My mind would probably explode 🤯
@@RockyDaTherapistWaaaaalt!!!!
Do you think the structure with the talismans was actually meant to trap something within that was released when removed, like an evil consciousness? And if so, could its release be connected with why the creatures changed behavior?
Yeah the baby rolling off the table had me in a moment of judgement and trying to understand. I have 2 children and ... yea...
What if they chopped up the tree and moved it? Would they follow the road out?
As I said under another comment, it is actually an understandable and good thing, that there are no town meetings:
Omg omg Abby’s dream might be the same one that in season 3 episode 6 Tabitha was talking about , cause she was also a little girl
Sarah killed Jade's friend Tobey in cold blood by stabbing a knife through his head then cutting him open! Thats a lot more than, "did some bad things"! The only redemption is if people she killed go back home.
Elgin rewritten = Ingle
Ingle = fire/fireplace in old English! I wonder what the importance of fire/ elemental influences mean to the story?
Are these reup loads?
15 ppl including father K and 7 days without a kill before the colony purge
Eman its not odd at all for a son to be upset about his father killing his mother even to save his life! Its complicated. Im 100% sure Ellis would trade the Talismans to have his mom back.
Donna will go on about not giving people hope blah blah and shut down the town meeting.
I definitely feel like there’s a quota for the town
Do you think the fish and loaf reference is supposed to imply Boyd is a JC figure? He constantly sacrifices himself and saves people….devil tempts him…makes me think of either savior complex or even job being tested.
Also remember while Boyd was out in the woods he was hallucinating and hearing all kinds of voices like his wife tempting him to do wrong or bad or stupid decisions like when Jesus went through his forty days in the desert and the Devil tempted him.
I think the fallen trees are different just because they're in different locations. Remember, no two cares are coming from the same place.
They start buddying back up again because with an enemy like me, they need each other, periodt.
maybe the reason he didn't need a door in the cave is because there were multiple talismans there
This title 😂🥹
Wait, is this a repost?
No. I didn't finish covering season 1. So I've got two more to do.
@@EmansReviews got it. I took the From challenge. Now I’m hooked. My girl is binge watching season 1 so we can watch season 2 together.
Why didnt Donna back up the father by saying she heard the voice on the radio? What if Fatima made the talismans? Boyd son, did he ever have a girlfriend before the trip?
Good question 🤔
The dog is a spirit guide
It belongs to the boy in white
Svp la série complète sans vous commentaires
❤
Not saying Donna's a witch but do we have confirmation she doesn't float in water?
🧐🤔
