The Abrams tanks are the M1A2 SEP V2 TUSK II version. TUSK stands for Tank Urban Survival Kit. In other words, additional equipment for fighting in an urban environment. This is necessary because urban environments pose special challenges, such as fighting tanks from the roofs of buildings. This requires better armoring of the turret. Also, the gun cannot be rotated 360 degrees in narrow streets. In the Leopard 2 PSO, the cannon has therefore been shortened and an automatic weapon station mounted on the turret.
The leopard 2pso and the Abrams 1a2 both use the same gun

The US doesn’t need drone protection. If you have air superiority there’s no need. The military doesn’t send units into battle spaces without it

Fair point, you’re absolutely correct. The DoD is actually working on the M1E3 variant right now because we’ve maxed the weight on the tank, it can’t be transported by trucks anymore without disassembly.
How? It’s not crudely made to have a rotating turret be limited to a fixed superstructure, ours can still rotate the turret around

This is an extraordinary tank. i saw this tank at the moscow field exhibition, a few weeks ago.
U saw an outdated M1A1, not an M1A2 that is the best tank rn for the US.

@@HumanPhilosopherPatriot End of the day it doesn’t matter. A tank with a cannon of 105mm or higher with the right munitions is capable of destroying another main battle tank. Abrams tanks were always going to be lost, that was never in question. If we sent an M1A2 SEPv4 package it would still see loses.
@@SodaThunderrr an M1A2 SEPv4 would still die to the main gun of a T90/A/M. The Depleted Ukrainian Armor was to give it additional resistance against lighter Anti Tank Munitions, but a high velocity sabot round from a main gun would still penetrate. We don’t lose many because we’ve not been going up against too many large forces with modern weaponry. The Gulf War did not see any Abrams losses because the Bradley’s did most of the tank killing and our tanks had faster turret rotation and better optics systems. Faster target acquisition and higher accuracy, but the technology has caught up a bit from other conventional forces.

these tanks can handle this.. it isnt ww2 with underpowered engines... but this is the same principle the ww2 german tanks did at the last few years with side skirt armor
The Abrams engine is literally a jet turbine, and the only reason it’s survived in its current state is due to just how powerful that engine is. It does have an impact, but it’s been manageable until the tank got too heavy to transport on trucks.

They’re working on the M1E3 right now because the M1A2 SEPv4 is too heavy to transport on trucks anymore. They’ve maxed out the platform, so they’re working on consolidating the chassis

in the us they cant do that, too cheap for the military industrial complex 😆
It's impractical, it was used in the Philippines because they were in a severe need for protection against RPG rounds as they were fighting separate groups of isis fighters and others that constantly used Rpg's on their low armored tanks, which can be lit on fire and break very easily, there's also the fact that it degrades and chips especially in certain weather climates, so yes I'd want *REAL* armor that can withstand not only rpg rounds but the elements with an extremely low deterioration rate, it also mitigates the explosion of rockets to the tank unlike wood which can be highly unpredictable, if you can afford the best you can get the best.

Хватит уже некрофилом быть, уже новое время. Абрамс бережет экипаж, а русское железо - это жестянка смертников с улетом башни в стратосферу.
Амеры еще не начинали, дали два десятка танков и всё, и то старых, которые не жалко. Все они видят и они со своим бюджетом всё сделаеют и переделают.
Вот немцы передали Гепарды с дистанционно управляемыми кассетными пулями и гераням (шахедам) конец, не долетают уже, если Гепард их видит.
Что амеры помогали выиграть ВОВ, то это не знать нужно быть дураком, даже сталин благодарил США, видео есть и он сказал, что если бы не помощь, то была бы печаль. ВИДЕО есть и документы благодарности.
Да, Абрамс тоже подбить можно, но люди будут живы, техника бережет людей, а железо на войне - это расходник. Но для русских - люди это расходник.

Почему то русские в упор думают, что амеры или немцы умеют делать авто и самолеты, то не умеют делать танки ... Мотор дизель В-2 танка Т34 - это коза ворованная у немцев, разработка завода BMW. И прикол, что этот же мотор немного улучшенный стоит сейчас на Т-72, это даже сами русские говорят обозреватели и это видно. Старье короче тюнингованное, не новое, а по сути москвич чипованный старый, потому как новое лучше никто не может сделать.

I would not be tapping on that box with my foot too hard now ! I noticed many of them were not using torque wrenches. That means all of the screws/bolts are at different tensile strengths of tightness and that , over time, leads to wear and tear and maybe failure. Cool vid ! :O) I used to watch tank maneuvers down by Oceanside Ca, at the beach. Awesome stuff. :O)

The tensile strength of identical bolts will be identical. Tightening to different torques will result in different tensile stresses.

there should be extendable and retractable mesh cages with origami système to keep the explosion of fpv drones at a distance of 2 meters, it could be very light and retractable so as not to hinder maneuvering🎉

Absolutely does. Requires more engine power to maintain standard speeds. There’s a new variant in the works, M1E3, to rectify this problem.

@@sameemas1723 It has no impact on accuracy. That’s entirely determined by the operating system of the gun, barrel harmonics, the type of ammunition, and heat.

@@user-iw5vi8rx3g The Rus/Ukr conflict has proved that in the modern battlefield tanks OF BOTH SIDES are nothing more that easy, high value, sitting duck targets for drones that cost a TINY fraction of the cost of the tanks. Note that the Ukrainians have recently withdrawn their US M1A1s from combat due to losses. Also, look up "Russian turtle tank" being used as a crude countermeasure. The USMC was very wise to get rid of its tanks and the side armor they are upgrading in the video is not where the new threat comes from. It comes from above.

The base plating is rated for RPG-7 sideshots, the TUSK package gives near 1000mm RHA worth of cehmical protection and 40mm of kinetic, despite not even being a kinetic penetrator ERA package. You people use any argument you can find, no matter how stupid it is.

The copium is strong in this one, notice how there's effectively no difference with Russian tanks, to the point they have to add sheds on their tanks, essentally making them useless for combat other than being a glorified self-propelled gun. Drones in itself are making tanks obsolete and are making soldiers resort to trench warfare, which is why we should have outlawed them under the geneva convention in the first place.
I don't like the fact that the Abrams is that it sounds like an RC car! It doesn't have that tough diesel sound that most tanks have, I guess due to it being gas turbine powered! I would assume that it not sounding like other tanks would increase its ability to be steath on the battlefield, though! I wonder if the sound changes based on what type of fuel its running off at the time? I know it can run on different types of fuel, so, yeah!

Roof armor is made of unknown composite stuff, DU or titanium, whateverm which certainly adds to the protection, but I'm still betting on adding the same ERA they added to the sides to the top, and 38.1mm thick HHA on the UFP and LFP for frontal hull protection for Christ's sake, either than or 65mm of composite sheets, like they did with the side armor.

M1X-Abrams X will be the last one, lighter, faster at over 90km/h, binary diesel electric power plant and with a 30mm autocannon.
I thought the Abrams-X was merely to show what we can make utilizing the tech and resources we have and wasnt actually the next upcoming tank.

So i am not a tank expert and after watching this video now i am wondering, the Russians that captured a Abrams tank and were showing them off in a video were saying the Ukrainians forgot to take of the rubber pads from the tracks because they were in such a rush to use them. So are these rubber pads necessary also in rought terrains or only a protection to ashpalt roads? Are they trying to make the Ukrainians look dumb in front of their own media or whats the case.

That soldier was hauling way too hard on that socket wrench. That's why some equipment ends up failing. Over tightening a bolt. Overstressed bolt eventually fails, taking out the one next to it. Then the track. Just from someone not knowing how to operate a socket wrench.
