It's quite amazing how whistles even in the same key sound so distinct - they have individual character. I have a Killarney and a Wild both in D. Wonderful things they are and so very portable, unlike my piano! 😆
I just received my D Wild Irish whistle and loving it…I am inspired by your playing and this particular whistle to play and improve my playing. Thanks for your video! Annie in California USA
I have the D and the A and love them. I love the weight of them and the clear tome. I hope in time (and by that I mean soon!) that a low D will be coming Jim in Maryland USA
Brian, you would make any whistle sound good and I love your style. However, I totally agree with you about the quality and tone of these whistles. I currently have just two but hoping to add to the collection with one of those C keys. I currently have the Bflat and D. I think the Bflat stands out from the crowd and the tone and quality is amazing. Thanks for sharing your talent for us mere mortals and hopefully I will get to hear you on the pipes someday. All The best from Sligo.
John O'Brien has a great Irish Tin Whistle Course online with McNeela Instruments. You'd get a great immersion into all those whistle playing techniques: whistlelessons.mcneelamusic.com/order-form1608029340084
What whistle, would you say, can't perform the staccato or the fast playing. I always assumed that when you are as skilled as you obviously are, that any whistle sounds great in your hands🙂
Hi Duke, when you go into C whistles and other lower keys some whistles lose the responsiveness for faster staccato playing. I don't want to mention any particular brands but it's a common issue in those lower keys. Anyway, luckily the Wild Whistle doesn't have these issues. Hope that helps!
Karen here, forgot to add this, my husband continues to enjoy playing his tin whistle in the key of D and, while I'm a little biased, I believe he is sounding better and better.

Wow! Thanks so much for sharing Mr. Brian. Absolutely lovely.
Thanks for listening, glad you enjoyed it, Karen and keep encouraging the husband!

Great to hear it, Annie
I am just beginning to learn the tin whistle. I love hearing it played. I'm hoping some day to make the tin whistle sing the way you do.

A low D would be a great addition to the range, James. I'm sure McNeela Music must be looking into that.
Love it...gets my toes 'a' tapping 🤩
Glad you liked it!!
