Haha yes! I loved listening to his stories! The Party Animals interview will be online in a few weeks from now, still have some other ones to edit / post as well, stay tuned ;-)
@@markloodewijk527 oh wow, thanks for the nice comment! And same, loved listening to his stories! Hope to have the Party Animals interview online in a few weeks!
This track "Rubb It In" is the way techno sounded when I first started DJing in the very early 90's, along with tracks from producers like Prodigy, Bizzare Inc, Moby, etc. Fierce Ruling Diva was a very influential producer back then. I'll never forget the way this underground rave music first sounded, it was glorious. Thanks so much for arranging this interview!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the interview!! Would love to do some interviews with Moby, The Prodigy and Bizzare Inc too one day, but..... not sure if that will ever happen hehe ;-)
Dank je wel! En de Klubbheads staan al een hele tijd op mijn lange wish-list. Tot nu toe helaas nog niet gelukt om wat in te plannen, hopelijk gaat het er ooit nog eens van komen :)
this guy is a great one ! and a people person, i spoke so much on different parties in the late 90s and early 2000s with him... all music related. very nice and cool dude i respect the man and the artist
Yo Twan, thanks for this amazing interview (as always). Being 44 years old, this man is one of the Dutch dance music icons. With the House Party 1 mix cd, I heard "Fierce Ruling Diva - Rubb It In" for the first time and then also on Move the House 3. Of course, what he started with the Party Animals, his influence is massive to the Dutch dance / hardcore scene. Thanks and probs to him doing this interview.
Thanks so much! When people have great stories, it makes it so much easier (and more fun!) to do these interviews. Loved listening to Jeroen's stories! More to come soon! :)
W30 was in die tijd toch wel een krachtige machine. Prodigy heeft daar ook veel op gemaakt. Boys Interface van DJ Rob ook (ok niet de sequencing maar de sampling). Zit ook een cool filter in.
Wow! An hour and some flew by, Flamman is such an interesting man and has wonderful stories to share❤😊 ive always loved FRD, and grown to love their tunes as a Rotterdam person😅 this man, together with Jeff have made such a great contribution and changes to the (Dutch) housescene, and always are ready to light up a party! 🎉❤🔥💃🔥
@@muzikxpress I saw how long it was, and was like, wow! I don't know if that's going to happen... But it flew by, you've got good questions, and Jeroen can talk about all that fascinating history. Amazingly they made their first tracks with such minimal tools and instruments! Maybe that was due to them both being regular musicians first?
Superb again. Here in the UK in 1991, Rubb It In was an anthem in the UK, because of Vicks Vapour Rub. Which is a kind of minty cream you use to rub on your chest when you have a flu. In the XTC days we used to put this cream onto our eye lids, cheeks and top lip :) Hence "Rubb It In" :) [Rub the Vicks into your face] :)
Jeroen, I am one of those fans. I look forward to every new Party Animals release. Atomic my all time favourite. Hope to hear new Party Animals stuff in the future for sure, next to the golden classics!
Throw your hands up in the air! Rave music 1990-1992 was sa good but died very quick, same as New Beat 1988-1990, both genres were kind of connected someway :) I made some last time but wish more people do this style today ;)
Loved this interview... What a great guy and passionate man. Loved how he told his story with a certain level of enthousiasm & nostalgia. Also the "ja toch" that slipped in at 21:10 was quite funny.
Its was actually Euro Rave (92) that party at the Maasvlakte.. Praga Khan and later Rotterdam Termination Source tried to preform there but it was impossible due to the power faillures
So Twan! I LOVE the things You do with the intrviews of imho legends when it comes to edm theese days. One of my greatest questions is based on th fact that most of theese "guys" were schooled in a classical form of music schoole. One was a drummer, another was a guitarist etc. Eventually they all "clashed" with the digital world. And now here is my Q. Also one that id like You to bring up futurewise interwievs if possible. How big of an impact would they say the digital world brought upon them and how do they see in the fact that Ai comming up, and what they think of it. Best regards
Rubb It In made it all the way to Cape Town back in the day; thanx to my bedt gay friend who had heard it when he went clubbing in Ams...I live in NL now and still
'The dutch accent that everybody hates....only in The Netherlands.' Very cool interview brother! Learned a lot here. We went to Mega-rave....it was amazing!
Haha yeah it is funny, whenever I get comments about my Dutch accent in the interviews, I'm pretty sure 99% comes from Dutch people ;-) Glad you enjoyed the interview, thank you! More to come soon!
I would love that, but unfortunately I don’t have a travel budget for these interviews…. So I can only do interviews with people who live nearby (I’m based in the south of the Netherlands), or with people who visit The Netherlands for gigs or so. Muzikxpress is “just” a hobby for me and unfortunately there’s not much advertising revenue if you don’t have millions of views…. Thanks for your understanding!
i wanted to skip this interview, but than i remembered the Flamman & Abraxis duo and watched the whole interview! really entertaining and informative. Prachtig!
He used to live in the USA for a while (as mentioned in the interview), so I guess that's the reason. BTW, working on the edits of my 2nd interview with Jeroen now! (about "Have You Ever Been Mellow" by the Party Animals). So I hope to have that online soon too.
What is your favorite Fierce Ruling Diva track?
Rubb it in (FRD subtopia remix )
Still listening to that song so great
definitely original mix of rubb it in. (butter up mix from whipped kream is also great).

This guy is such a good pal, I met him in person a couple of times and it was a pleasure
Jeroen is great! Was my first time meeting him, such a nice guy!
This guy is a storytelling machine. SO much value in this one - and I didn’t even know the track. I only know him from Party Animals.
