Glad I could help! Atm I'm using a DJI OSMO Action 4 with a DJI Mic 2 and it wirelessly records audio straight into the camera. No need for syncing audio or anything!

Rode wireless go to your phone might be a better option than having the lav mic, just for cable freedom, but then that’s another device that’ll require a battery. Zoom h1’s can be picked up for pretty cheap which also does good audio recording. Nice video legend.

Nice one bro! Good tips. I just finished recording my first video 😂🤘🏻and I took my Sony a6400 with a Rode VideoMicro and the Joby Gorilla Tripod out to Centennial Park 🤦🏻♂️ Not the most minimal setup. I’ve ordered a Lav Mic from a Brand called Boya that I saw a few reviews about and thinking about plugging that into my phone 👍🏻
Congrats man, looking forward to watching it:) not the most minimal setup but the footage should look great 👍 yeah boya are good should work well I’ve used their stuff before:) lav mic will make the setup more minimal but you will have to sync audio in the edit. Pretty easy with fcpx and most programs but it’s an extra step ✌️

Love it! What about the video recording? He mounts his GoPro 7 with Horizon Leveling and Protune colour settings on his helmet and colour grades it afterwards?
I use a GoPro hero 10 on a mouth mount. I film with the 'natural' colour setting and only need to do minor corrections afterwards:) Thanks for commenting, your lost skiier vid was great, super creative

Chris check this video in the link below of a review for the Rode
Wireless GO II with the Lavalier lapel mic - you can actual record the
audio to the Transmitter without it being hooked up to camera. I have
the rig but did not realise you could record internally to the
transmitter and the camera or just to the transmitter without the camera
- so it does what you are suggesting just much more compact. Here is

fanatstic setup. You have to buy the Lavalier mics separate - I bought
two one for each transmitter. You could actually do it without the
Lavalier mics as both transmitters have mics built in. Because there are
two transmitters you could wear one and Jon or Boxy or one of your

how do you align the audio recorded on a separate device to the Gopro footage?
It can be auto synced on desktop editing programs like Final cut, however I'm not sure if it can be done on a mobile device easily.
