Funny thing: Never played a Fire Emblem game. But good LORD, I'm way more overpowered than I'd expected.
It was a pleasure getting to hear my voice in a VS matchup! I hope to do so again in the future!

I love how this fight opened up with Rosalina and Robin talking about how they're happy to meet each other, and how they could have been good friends if it wasn't for this tournament. Most of these battle scenarios I've seen involve some kind of aggressive misunderstanding or petty argument. Just seeing these 2 magic users casually interact like this before their battle was such a breath of Fresh Air, especially since both have an interest in books.
They are probably part of the few to know they're in a tournament
Does Rosalina also know we live in a simulation from the Hexagon on Saturn or just me (Ness)
Thank you so much for this passion project. I will say it an infinite amount of times, the fact that you put so much effort into Robin of all characters, someone who most people ignore, makes me as a Robin main so happy. This episode is my favorite so far and I am looking forward to what you guys have in store. I'm really excited for the future of this channel and I know you guys will change the VS community in one way or another.

That's really something I like about this series. They aren't trying to crank out fights at high speed, so they actually do a good job breaking down the characters and figuring out who they are and how the function.

Really like the beginning of the fight. It's sensible and, in a way, sad that the two would only fight if forced to, both sharing respect and reservations over the matter, wishing they could have instead met on friendlier terms.
This even shows later when Robin lets Grima out briefly. He doesn't want to kill all the lumas, but knows it is his best chance in order to win. He's pragmatic but not heartless.

I absolutely loved this! Not going to lie and say I liked that Robin ended up winning, but the thought and dedication you put into analyzing both characters' abilities and feats is nothing short of astounding. Bonus points to the fact that Rosalina was not, in fact, killed at the end of the battle, and for the music track!
When I heard “Time to tip the scales…!” I knew it was over. That scene was done so well it gave me goosebumps!
You can tell this was made with a lot of love, thank you to the entire team for such a great video!
My favorite part was when Robin said it’s Robbin time and Robbed all over the place.

As a huge fan of Fire Emblem, I'm kind of surprised (and happy) that Robin won. The research team did an amazing job, and the animation was a banger.

What a terrific fight and wow was I not expecting that ending (no spoilers ofc). So proud of the team on this one, it was visually very impressive, and I enjoyed the storytime elements of the stat breakdown. Overall just an epic video as expected from the Smash Bracket. Absolutely loved this. Story Time with ink and the smash bracket team is just wonderful. Grima the dragon apparently is so big brain, and yet started off at the size of a certain blonde headed red coated alchemist we know from anime. *Feels the intensity of Edward elric from the multiverse, pint size anger intensifies LOL*
The fight was voiced well, looked great, and was not what I expected but still incredible. Kind of funny how Star bits are actually based off an actual Japanese candy that I'm sure is actually tasty. Very colorful too. You guys did a wonderful job as usual. Excited for the next fight, and God bless.
Having never played a Fire Emblem game, I'll admit I wasn't expecting much from this. But man, have you surpassed my expectations. I can see how much fun you had with this from the jokes, to the story presentation and, of course, to that beautifully animated fight at the end.
This was such a spectacular video. The way you presented each character through a storybook was clever. The music track was wonderful to listen to. Rosalina combining her powerups from 3D World was neat. And The fact that Robin and Rosalina both apologized to each other during the fight showed that they did want to be good friends with each other.
As for the victory, I kind of knew Rosalina wouldn't win because of how she doesn't do much combat in her games. She may be presented as a space guardian, but she isn't exactly an all powerful goddess. Even if Robin is the least popular of the 2, I'm proud of how he showed his strength and how he's more than just some anime swordsman who barely anyone has heard of before.
Congratulations! You're one of the few people who knew Robin was gonna win.
This may very well be my favorite episode yet, and I'm so happy that my boy managed a win. The animation was beautiful, and the voice actors hit it out of the park. So excited for the next episode

Robin and Rosalina are both *way* more powerful than I could have ever imagined them too be.... which is honestly terrifying. The animation, voice acting and music were all done amazingly well.
I have to admit I did cringe quite a bit at the beginning when I was exposed to a christmas themed episode right before Halloween, but i'll get over it Haha.

Missed this one last night cause I was asleep, but I'm extremely happy with how it's turned out now that I'm seeing it. Absolutely fantastic work; Genowhirl and Ultraman went HARD on that animation, the VAs both did fantastic jobs, especially Flip, and Skye absolutely killed it on the track once again. Not gonna lie, super happy with that result, too. Glad to see Fire Emblem getting the respect it deserves even if it was MUCH higher than what I expected lol.

@@ravionjohnson8852I mean if you wanna talk in game, he is considered one of the most overpowered characters in all of Fire Emblem. Madlad can basically solo the entire game, and is basically necessary on the higher difficulties. In terms of lore… He is alright. No slouch in actual combat, but his main skill set is definitely stated to be in his work ethic and tactical genius.

Am I the only one who thinks he handled Rosalina powers very badly? She doesn't need Mario power-ups to be powerful. Where is the teleportation, telepathy, light and beam attacks from the wand, Galactic energy attacks, Star summoning, Gravitational pull and gravity manipulation? Have you seen her hyperstrike in Mario Strikers or the cutscenes in Mario Golf World tour? Just a few days ago we saw she can seamlessly open portals with her wand and strike powerful light-based attacks in Mario + Rabbids. Lumas are also very badly handled being reduced to mere projectiles while they are insanely powerful beings as shown in Smash and Mario Galaxy where they close a fucking BLACK HOLE.
Sadly Sparks of hope wasn't anywhere close to releasing when this episode was in development. Ironically it came out the same day this vid was released. She'll definitely get those new abilities in losers round. (I do agree there were some things they could've handled better though)
the black hole thing was addressed in Rosalina's analysis. essentually they found it impossible to really properly scale beyond just calcing what it sucked up and going from there. hence where they got Rosalina's power and durability from.

I definitely think either Joker, Shulk, Pyra/Mythra or Robin will end up winning. Joker, Shulk, and the Aegis are three of the canonically strongest characters in Smash, and Robin has some really good hax and intelligence though I think he's farrrrrrr outclassed by the other three. Oh and also honorable mention to the Luminary who is also up there as one of the canonically strongest and has a ton of really good hax and abilities. Any of these could win imo

Alright! This was awesome. Presentation of this being a christmas story was funny, making sense of their vague feats was fairly clear and hey even the 3d fight was quite good, not free of jank but its clear you all are improving. Fantastic episode.

What an amazing fight, This is the best 3d animation you’ve made so far! I love the dynamic and amount of Abilities used for both characters, This generally might be my favourite smash bracket episode, So much time and effort put into this passion project it’s amazing!

Rosalina controlls a fucking Space Station that can travel faster than Light when it is fueled with enough Power Stars, how can she lose? 😅
Robin is a literal reincarnation of the dark dragon grima from what I know, essentially the apocalypse which destroyed Lucina’s timeline, also, he even is capable of killing grima (at the cost of his own life in awakening) there’s a quite good chance he’s capable of winning.

Anyways, in spite of being one of the fights I was least invested in it this had to be y'all's best animation yet. It's also fun seeing the occasional upset victory for characters that get slept on. Nothing against Rosalina as a character, but having her around in a vs debate series against fighters with much less ambiguous feats and arsenals feels kind of wrong. Robin on the other hand, I'm looking forward to seeing his matchups going forward. The salt from the chat was delicious.

I think the issue some people have is it that it feels like they lowballed Rosalina but highballed Robin. But even if for some reason the opposite was true i feel like Robin would still win regardless. His hacks basically make Rosalina's feats (if they were highballed) be rendered useless. Though i gotta admit including Grima was a bit overkill imo.

Excellent work! I thought the black hole reset would do the trick but you bring up great points, and now I definitely agree Robin takes the match. Also, I love the editing in this video. As for the animation, still wish it was 2d animation, but the 3d animation in this video is definitely good!

Haha I have put almost our entire 2d animation team onto Red vs Ness for a couple months, that one requires a lot of work since there are so many different pokemon! Luckily we will be returning to more shortly

Now this is good entertainment. the previews stirred the hype pot and the finished product was worth the wait. The way how Fire Emblem on this series and Rosalina's feats was handled shows how much of a passion project this is. This only makes me uber hyped for Byleth's eventual episode. It's going to be so sick, since however they're handled will have more creativity than the moves they have in smash.
Also i'm gonna throw in a FE mu that deserves recognition . That being Rean Schwarzer vs Byleth. Two of gaming's prestigious professors who had to teach their students for war during a war.

Tho I wanted to ask something, since the einherjar cards are being used and in the game they all can learn skills like miracle and lethality, will that affect somehow an upcoming fight? like Robin summons some of them and they just activate lethality and kill the foe, could that be possible?

It’s hard to say until we are in a situation where we have to make that call. We normally spend a long time debating stuff like that as a team. That said, general if something works in the games it will work here.

I believe the christmas stuff was because it was suppose to be released christmas of last year.

Glad you spared Rosalina of actually being killed off, that would've been a bummer. It feels like you're going more for whether it'd be in-character for them to be killed rather than a 'every fight has to end in death' hard-set rule.

That's a really bad way to judge a matchup. Like I disagree with the fight because I disagree with how the stats where handled for both Robin and Rosalina. But There are some... REALLY BROKEN "medieval dudes" in fiction who would beat Rosalina.

Even though Rosalina is my favorite Mario Universe character and Best Princess 👸 I understand what kind of fight she's in after understanding the story of Fire Emblem: where Rosalina has power and magnitude with the Lunas playing the numbers game with speed; Robin has specialize strategy, combat experience, & Variety of unique skills timed properly. Robin's tactical advantage can counter everything that she can throw at them from find a way around her defenses to turn her offense against her; overall I do really appreciate the in character interactions the brought an impact to this Duel. It is an interesting duel between power versus strategy for outmaneuvering or outthinking your opponent can bypass their Superior stats and strength, thank you for this unique battle 🤩💙💜
Okay my usual pun aside, this episode was great. Good analysis to both sides, aleast for someone with only a little knowledge of both, but was informative and entertaining all the same. The animation was great as well with cool use of the abilities and some cool shots. 9/10 episode

DANG WHAT A FIGHT! I loved how Robin always seemed one step ahead (as canonically he should) and I gotta say "your friends make me stronger too" was such a badass line"
Spoilers for the outcome:
This.... seems weird? Were Lumas turning into comets and galaxies in cutscene not counted as viable feats for some reason? Or Lumas and power-stars traveling between galaxies in ~20 seconds, also in cutscene, not counted either? Idk, the guardian of the cosmos being hilariously outmatched by some half-dragon tactician just seems kinda weird to me,
but I loved this fight regardless, visuals and choreography were amazing, loved the voice acting, SkyeGM made a banger track, as expected probably competing with Lucario vs Ryu for my second favorite SB episode
But what does turning into galaxies do in a fight?
@@GooberGlumbus the energy output of a miniature singularity like a Luma exploding (yeah, they explode In cutscene) into an entire galaxy would be some incredibly large number, likely way more than enough to overcome Robin’s durability. Sure he can survive 3 attacks, but 500?

-Game mechanics in FE are obnoxious because if Robin gets lethality, so too could Lyssa. Now IDK if you guys wanna say Lyssa beats Rosalina but I would have to rule out gameplay mechanics since they aren't canon. Robin never says "Oh I beat that guy because of my lethality skill." Never happens. Also Lethality doesn't work on bosses.

How is Lethality a game mechanic because Robin never mentions it? And how does Lissa having it make Robin having it bunk? Also, FE Heroes is considered a mainline game by IntSys, and appears in FE Engage with Emblem Veronica and the Alfonse, Sharena and Anna Bond Rings.
@@jaxonjaxon9901 Lethality is not something Robin canonically has. This is how we scale game characters, we take canon feats of skill and power not things they have that only affect gameplay with no bearing on narrative. Mario has powerups because he actually possesses and uses those. Robin does not have Lethality because he never canonically uses it and if he did the conflict with Grima would be a lot easier.
The point I make about Lyssa getting Lethality is basically saying since any character in Awakening can get Lethality (and therefore be able to oneshot any other character 20% of the time) then either they all get it or no one gets it. It's like how in Three Houses the entire roster can dodge the beams of light Seiros' constructs throw. Which means that since every character has a chance to be able to move lightspeed we either give them all an extremely inconsistent speed boost despite never canonically possessing this or we don't give it to any of them since they never canonically use it. In this scenario Robin does not get Lethality because it is a game mechanic, not canon ability and Byleth does not get lightspeed movement because it is a game mechanic, not canon ability.

A little late but if Rosalina can turn into her fire flower form without the actual flower can't she just turn indestructible with the super star and summon it all the time? ( idk if this is dumb or not)
