Hey Tyler got a 2017 D23. Just got to 110,000 kms. Quite a few big trips. Absolutely not a single issue. Very under rated vehicle.

Great video Tyler. I love your style of presentation. Easy to watch, not like a 6 year old who has just drunk a gallon of red cordial, trying to hype up huge excitement. Informative. I had a STX Navara 05 dual cab and loved it. Had it for about 10 years and apart from the usual consumables, never gave me an ounce of trouble....and it never saw sand or off road. Today, I've got a 2020 LTZ, done 2500 km and THIS one is going to do it ALL..lol
So many people are pro "catch Can". I asked the dealer about this and his answer was "you don't need that on this car, all you have to do is take it for a really good run to clean it out"..I'm not convinced. I'm still plugging away at your videos and haven't seen one yet that I didn't enjoy. Love the out takes, as do a lot of your followers.
    Cheers

You have done very well setting up your vehicle. I think you have made sensible decisions. If you go for a tray and canopy, maybe you can keep the tub and then transfer the tray and canopy onto the next vehicle and reinstall the tub onto this one ?? I installed a big 240Ah AGM battery into my Hilux in early 2012. It's over 8 and a half years old and still going strong. Not bad for an AGM. I'll be very surprised if a lithium battery will last 20 years, but just the same, I will go for Lithium next time, because of the big weight saving. Have a nice day Tyler. You have an excellent UA-cam channel.

Re fuel consumption, have you thought about putting your stuff on the rack into the tub, at least for highway travel? It'd make a huge difference, particularly at highway speeds, and keep your centre of gravity down a bit when off-road.

@@TylerThompson90 +25mm offset/5 inch backspacing for 16x7 steel wheels then👍😄👍 .75 inches less backspace then a stock 16x7 wheel. If you could fit a 255/85r16 Toyo Open Country MT🤗= 33.5x10.2r16 the tallest widest tyre of that size. With tyres of equal diameter the wider tyre will rub the front and rear of the fender well when the tyre is turned and articulated, so mabye these slightly taller tyres have a chance of fitting.

Hello Tyler. I am very glad I found your channel. My wife and I are in the planning stages of a trip to Australia to do a Lap. We are from the US and I want to have a vehicle built locally that we will use for our trip. The vehicle I want to build is the Navara. I own a Frontier in the US which is essentially the same vehicle depending on model year. For my US Frontier I have done a full Titan swap (Differential, Axles, Control Arms, Tie Rods) with 4.10s and ARB. I have a great many questions I would love to seek your advice on. My desire is to ship the US sourced Titan parts to Aus and have a local shop complete the build. I know there are more restrictions on vehicle modifications there so local knowledge on what can be done would be very valuable to us. We would probably begin from Sydney and do a counter clockwise Lap so we would want to work with a shop in the Sydney area for the build (Fulcrum? Superior?).
For the base vehicle, I would like a crew cab (4 door). I believe there were model years that had a V6 diesel (I assume turbo'd or twin turbo'd)?
    Any help is much appreciated.

Not sure if your still checking old comments, but nissan are knocking back Warranties on Navaras with Catch can setups.. I've run them previously, but as these are notorious for rear main leaks, it worries me about fitting a Catch can.

Running 33 muddies/steelies, 2" EFS lift, long range fuel tank, Aeroklas canopy, single rear drawer, fridge, roof racks, awning, front/rear/side TJM protection and winch has added alot of weight to my Ranger and the brake upgrade has mad a MASSIVE difference!!! 33's will trick you car computer and show the economy worse than it is because the tyre circumference is bigger, meaning a revolution of the wheel sends the car further than the odometer says it does. 20,000 kms on your odometer is probably more like 23,000 kms in actual distance. The computer uses the litres to travel the kilometres and the odometer is registering lower kilometres therefore it thinks the car is using more litres per kilometre. Fuel economy will be worse anyway because the tyres are heavier and all the bar work etc, but a good proportion of the apparent increase in fuel consumption is due to the fact that the kilometres you are appearing to travel is no longer accurate. That's good for trade in time because the car will appear to have less kilometres.

Here's a cheap protection upgrade you can do, I just grabbed one last week and got another 10 bucks off for signing up to the news letter.
It turned up 2 days after ordering.

Also if you want to be able to use the diff lock at any time and not just in 4wd low at low speed you can grab a wiring harness from racewires you can find them on Facebook.
