No disrespect to any other 4x4s out there, I respect all builds big and small! This is just about my experience with the Ute! Would love to hear what you guys own and how it has treated you! 🙂
2013 3.2 Ranger...bought it last December. By June 2020, new turbo, alternator, clutch and full gearbox rebuild. Every two months the passengers head light burns out ( every time it’s replaced it has to be plugged in to turn it back on). So far, I love it!
Totally agree with all your comments here. Especially the comparison recently done on another 4wd show, very Biased. I have had mine for 3 years and love it!
Man I just brought one and love it. Paid 47 for a 2019, has everything on it lift, bullbar etc etc etc etc. price was definitely a massive factor for me. The equivalent with a dmax, hilus etc was 20-25k plus!! And coming from a D40, you can truly and really see how far the nav brand has come
Hey mate - I got an 2018 ST Np300 - your comments are spot on! love mine. My only negatives being the SatNav (always the most inconvenient directions and no apple carplay on Series 3) Very capable 4WD, even with stock 255 wheels. never been bogged in it either!
I 100% agree when it comes to certain reviews just bagging the shit out of the NP300 ... I sit there and wonder are they purposely bashing it because a certain mob is sponsoring the video ... I’ve got a NP300 and it’s amazing!!! It’s highly easy to mod also!! Don’t listen to those bias reviews actually ask someone who owns a NP300 because I guarantee all will say they are amazing ...
Great review and a good personal insight on the np300. For someone looking to buy a new 4x4 ute (aka me!) its handy to hear a real honest review. Keep the DIY mod videos coming on the nav 👍
Mate I never listen to those 4wd action reviews or any of those. They are so biased towards Toyota, ford and VW it’s laughable. Whoever pays the most money I guess?! The Navara is the most underrated D/Cab 4x4. I love mine, in over 3 years has never missed a beat or been bogged. I’m seeing alot more people buying the Nav lately, they’re starting to catch on. Nissan is one of the most experienced 4x4 makers in the world, more than most of the others, speaks volumes.
It's a great utes in Europe this is the Renault Alaskin by far the best durable utes out there long jeverti low engine wear.Mercedes utes also use the renault 2.3 litre twin turbo motor of the navara best on the market some alaskin have done 400 plus thousand kilometers overseas.
Couldn't agree more ive got a 2017 stx , never missed a beat and extremely capable off road and its only got 31s and a 2 inch lift and i follow my m8 around on his 35s and twin locked , luv my vara 👍🍻
Thanks for the informative video. We get quite a few trucks in the one-ton category in Chile, some of them Chinese - which seem to be doing alright. But, having looked at many different options, I'm starting to gravitate towards the NP300 for price and fuel economy, plus all you mention. Additionally, diesel is around 25% cheaper than petrol here. So there.
Thanks for your advice.. instant sub.. I've had mines since 2017.. 6speed manual.. and I must say.. NEVER had any issues.. and I've been a Mitsubishi guy my whole life..
I took my nav np300 to an off road park here in the UK. I only had cooper ATs on, no lift no other mods it sailed over everything I pointed it at. It managed routes that a ranger had to have 4 runs at and a range rover discovery 2 gave up on. They were both better prepared than my truck with muds and lifts. Don't believe the press.
21,000 km in two years?! Jeez, I do that in 6 months lol. Had my nav for about a year now and agree with a lot of what you’re saying. Not sure I’d recomend going to 6” right away though, mine sits at 2” and I drive it offroad almost daily with very little issue and the cost difference is massive. I’d personally say do a 2” lift, wheels and get a front locker and you’ll be able to go almost anywhere. Add underbody protection, a bull bar, winch and a snorkel and you’re set, the rest is fluff.
Oh I completely agree with you! I was just meaning I wish I went 6” straight away cause I have changed setups a few times and costs money! A winch is on the list to do soon! These utes are very capable as they sit, yours sounds tuff as!! 👌
Very great video 👍 I was looking at buying a Ute but I wasn’t sure what brand to buy so I was was looking at all the other brands until I found that I went with the Nissan Np300 SL It was a series 2 demo and only pay $34,990 It was a 2018 model it was automatic as well it only had 90km on it and I had mine for a year now it’s a great car great on fuel economy This is the first time I actually owned a big car and a Ute but I started doing some upgrades on it I put a new bull bar on it and Rims and tires on it 👍I have never took it off road yet I might do it one-day
Mate that’s a steal for a auto! I’m a sucker for a bargain hey and it sounds like you got one!! Definitely go have a wheel somewhere I’m sure you will love it, who knows it might become your new hobby!
I think everything you said for the Np300 goes for the D40 too. If anyone is looking for a cheap 10-25k 4x4 dual cab get a D40. If you got a deeper pockets, get the Np300
Couldn’t be more right about the whole 4wd action thing and how far the navara’s have come. People who are still crap talking them obviously haven’t driven one or done their research. Renault engine has been in their vans for years we get them coming into work with 400,000km’s+ been completely flogged as a work van and are still going strong. Value for money can’t beat the nav 👍
I own 2019 SE in South Africa (ST there Down Under) 4X2 which mainly runs tar roads to work and back and the odd dirt roads. WHY IS IT that so many people knock the Navara on all fronts? People in SA are very brand conscious, hence Ranger and Hilux being only talked about and purchased brands. Here, they do not sell well, however it is a superior vehicle. Ive heard of timing chain failure etc. I do not know of any of that crap. The D40 sold very well here and D23 only has dual cab (double cab) models here being the high end ones. The Hilux and Ranger outsell anything on our market and since the D23 only came in 2017 June over here, the gap created since run out of D40 in 2015, pushed the customers towards the other brands. Great video. Thanx for the confidence!! I LUUUUVE Mine. I chose the cheaper one and threw nice beefy wheels and tyres on. Looks mean.
you have done a excellent work on both your truck and your videos mate, i would do the same to my Navara but only if i was handy enough😭 loving your videos, thanks for sharing and all the best mate
Thank you so much mate! I really appreciate the comment 👌! I’m making these videos to try and get people to have a go at some cheap mods! You should have a crack at something small and see how you enjoy it, it’s very rewarding! 😊
I bought mine from Nissan 10 months old. Have now had it for about two years. I am only starting to mod it now. It has 20 inch alloys with road tyres on it at the moment. Good to know what mod to start with being suspension. The thing is I don’t know how much weight I’m going to load onto it in the near future. Might got with a 4 inch lift off the bat since watching this.
Bought a 2017 NP300 new. Only warranty job has been a dodgy intercooler hose between it and turbo. Nissan fixed it 3 weeks out of warranty. Not that big of a deal I guess. 52,000 clicks and going strong. ECU remap woke it up heaps. Looking for some 4.11 or lower gears to run 35's in the next round of mods........
Thanks for the awesome videos I'm looking for a dualy with tray at the moment and seriosukt considering the Nav. What front bar are you running? Cheers
Nice video! I also drive a Nissan Navara D23 2019! Greetings from Belgium! Great utes they are, however Nissan plans on stopping Navara sales in Europe... I did a video in my channel reacting to this development. I has mixed feelings.
If they had the customer support of any other company, such as Mitsubishi, it would be a different story. Value for money would be an LDV, Mahindra etc because of the identical quality now days
I'm currently looking to this np300 or triton for my budget. I'm not going to do heavy towing or heavy load just day to day driving and occasionally srive to the bush. Im leaning toward the nav more now for comfortable drive..after your video but haven't decided yet and still waiting for my finace minister approval as she can be bit hard when it comes to a car budget approval😂😂
I’m a fan, but I think the reasons they are so cheap is due to the running ware and motor. And a couple tacky things inside. I’d prefer myself to go out and spend a extra 10k and get something more reliable. Each to there own
Well the Renault motor has been renowned for its reliability over seas, they have them in vans and they get some really high kms on them! Mercedes isn’t a stupid company and they took on the nav, I understand the stigma around the nav and I understand cheap is always good but in this case I think these navs are great! I’ve been apart of the Facebook group with 20k members now for 2 years and I’ve only seen two motors blow, one from bad fuel and other from sand in motor!
Funny i purchased same model for the same reasons, 2018 sl in White Auto for 34500 on the road in june 2019. put an ironman front bar and rearbar/towbar incorporated and an ironman canopy, upgrade the dash to a digoptions satnav unit. i actually put the carpet into the front. couldnt compare anything else for the money as there wasnt anything comparable.
I bought my 2019 SL for 44k, with 18” rims, general grabber tyres, sports bar and tonneau. Tub liner. Tow bar. Bull bar. Mats. Tinting. Weather shields. Personally think 4wd action got the np300 all wrong ....
Also wanted a vinyl floor because 4wd, kids, and I’m a floor layer. I’ve had my nav since November last year. We went to fraser in December and the Prado, the 79 cruiser and the landcruiser troop we went with. All got stuck going through Indian head. I have an auto and I was in 5th gear low and we just ate it. Just cruuuuiiiised the whole time. I got stuck once in that trip because out the front of the orchid beach shop I jumped back in the Ute and forgot to turn traction off and I had to move out of the way of a patrol and went into the soft sand. Forgot I even had diff locks 😂 put them on and got myself out. So yanno. I really do think 4wd action is very wrong. My brother who is a mechanic also watched their review after we went to fraser and he’s like they must be smoking crack if they don’t think they’re capable.
Definitely not a Navara fan (actually own an old Hilux), but love the work you do to your car! And the honest review and opinion about it all! Keep it up 👌🏽
Great review mate - thanks for sharing. In all sincerity, I'm currently in a td42 gu. How do you find the power/torque delivery of the nav? Is a 2.3 really enough to hull 2T of ute + a decent load?
Tbh mate I don’t know but it does have a lot of power! I carry tools and the tray/canopy with a ski and I can go up a pretty Streep hill in 6th and barley increase the throttle! But I havnt carried much more than that!!
The 4wd action video was very bias, obviously for izusu since they supply them with a whole car. Ofc the suspicion that mitsi paid them. I agree, they really just dogged it, didn't show how amazing the coil rear end is and blew the lag out of proportion, as every other reviewer has stated that hiluxs and tritons felt a bit gutless, while the navs always felt decent
I like the look of the Navara. but it has a Renault engine that was originally a 2 litre dualis engine that has been bored out to give it 2.3litres this engine originally was unreliable . only long term will see if they have improved on previous failures all the best.
Yeah mate unfortunately no modern day engine is as reliable as they used to Be! The engines get smaller with more sensors and higher boost, less servicing etc! It’s just crazy how things are going! But plenty of people going over 200,000kms with no issues now!
Yeah all cars have their perks and quirks! I do servicing for all the car yards on the coast and the guys at Isuzu did say they are reliable! I don’t really like putting down any car but my Ute has been great and it was definitely the price and the coils that won it for me!
krump 7 no way. J70. 79 series. Neighbours 4jj had insane DPF issues that ended up costing him 6k. Also an engine doesn’t make a car. If the dmax was the most reliable engine I still wouldn’t buy it. One very very ugly car. And the cv angle... rip
Nice Vid mate. I got my SL for 30k down here in Vic 😂. Mines done 50k only issue was a bent rack end ( someone put a log in a bog hole). Should come down and I'll show you around the high country when this is all over. Keep up the good content 👍 - Big H
Wow mate, that is bloody cheap!! Can’t beat that value for money there!! I’d love to come see the high country! We do plan on doing some big trips when all this is over 😊!
Awesome review man i just got me a 2015 mp300 dualcab st nav 7spd auto had it for about 4 months also now and loving it fully kitted out by arb 👌🏽👌🏽 and cannot fault it by far love it Also do u service your truck every 20,000ks? And do u get your local nissan dealer to service it for u?? Cheer man
Thanks man hey do u service your rig every 20,000ks? I got told by my local nissan dealer thats what happens with the mp300s? Wasnt to sure if its true or not as all my utes been service every 10,000ks its all new to me
Mate my mum's kia minivan will walk up tracks that thing will struggle on because I'm not afraid of smashing it up. You put nice headlights, grills etc and the you don't want to break it
Hey bro %100 back you on what you said I have one my self and can’t fault it I was bit silly bought stx spent extra coin but your 100% right with navara being good love your videos if you ever come to Victoria hit me up for a 4x4 sesh
Man you got the nav for a good price. Did you buy that brand new? Atm I can’t find one for less than 45k in aus. Do you think they’ll go back down to 35k post COVID? Cheers mate great video!!
I can see behind okay, i did message clearview to see if they could do me a deal on some mirrors but I never heard back from them!! Would love a set tho!
What year and model is this? Also really novice question are all Navs NP300s or is it a different model? New to the Navs thing props on the build looks beast.
Hey brother, just bought me a 2020 np300 st, your vids along with others are a big inspiration why haha just wanted to know how you get about with your dpf delete knowing that it’s illegal ?does it void your insurance ?Cops ?I want to go the same route but just scared to haha
How did you get it for $35000? I can’t see many below that price second hand.. am I missing something? This is a good review, appreciate you taking the time to make it!
What series and engine is this mate ? Awesome rig so sexy looking at getting a new car really considering this now ! Sounds sick, and is this the twin turbo ?
Didnt even consider the Nav ( and im not anti Nav ) , my D Max is two years old and 65k at easter . The coil rear wasn't practical for the loads i carry , im at gcm max alot and im running the heaviest spring pack available as it is , my biggest thing is long term ownership as my previous D max was 10 years old and 240k , i worry about long term Nav ownership , i know the new ones arent too bad but the previous gen Nav put me off the new one . I dont knock guys for buying one though .
I love this comment cause it’s exaclty how car guys should be! Each Ute suits different needs!! I have never loaded the back of my Ute up and have never carried much gear! I love the dmax just as much! If I could swap your motor into mine I blooody would!! Love the comment mate! Thanks for sharing 😃
I know this comment was posted over a year ago but Dad had a MY11 D40 never missed a beat and it was 50/50 offroad and normal.Had nothing fitted onto it except tyres and the stock D40 had no difflock on them either. Just recently took delivery of his new 2021 ST and the D40 had 170,000km on the clock , serviced every 5000 kms
@@RoamLyfe Hey mate Might be a stupid question I have the same Model same year as yours, How do you activate the Diff lock ? Does it turn on once you turn off traction control? Cheers and love the channel
Great vid, I just bought a 2020 manual nav last weekend, still waiting on the call to come pick it up... So keen. Anyway I have a question for you, what brand and size tires are you running?
2 years, 20k km....wow.... I did 60k km in 1 year on my mazda 6. I would burn a tank of fuel in a day just driving and sight seeing. to me that takes effort to have such little km on a daily.
what about air bags going off when your 4wding ? is there any ways around that ? or has nissan thought about that and turned off air bags when your in 4wd with diff lock on 🤯
No disrespect to any other 4x4s out there, I respect all builds big and small! This is just about my experience with the Ute! Would love to hear what you guys own and how it has treated you! 🙂
Can you do a 60,000km review when you get there.
2013 3.2 Ranger...bought it last December. By June 2020, new turbo, alternator, clutch and full gearbox rebuild. Every two months the passengers head light burns out ( every time it’s replaced it has to be plugged in to turn it back on). So far, I love it!
Any problems with the rear main seal?
thoughts on the d40?
We love our Navara as well. One main reason is the 7 gear ATM: So smooth and so efficient. Six litres diesel per 100 km.
Totally agree with all your comments here.
Especially the comparison recently done on another 4wd show, very Biased. I have had mine for 3 years and love it!
Great info, much prefer an owner over time doing a review rather than some posh dude doing a paid or sponsor review.
Have had my np300 for about a year now and i am also stoked with it and agree..great value for money.
I’m all about that value for money!! Of course you can get better vehicles but value for $ it’s amazing!

100 percent agree with you! We love our rig! And the vinyl floor is amazing hey
Heya RoamLyfe, what exhaust system are you running? Obvs a dpfdelete
Sounds great! Cheers mate love ya rig
Definitely not a Navara fan (actually own an old Hilux), but love the work you do to your car! And the honest review and opinion about it all! Keep it up 👌🏽
Thanks a lot mate! I love old lux’s they are bloody good rigs!! I’ve been thinking about getting a solid axle one for a bush basher!!
@@RoamLyfe Ive got ifs for now, not sure if I can justify a SAS for the driving I do 😬 would you SAS the nav?
Yeah 100 percent I would, but you can’t get it engineered in Queensland as far as I know!
Twin turbo
I was towing 3t dumper on 800kg trailer. Towing sweet.
Buying a new car early next year and really Considering on getting a Navara 🤔
Isuzu dmax 3.0L 4jj1 is the most reliable ute engine on the market today.
Keep up the good content 👍
- Big H
Wow mate, that is bloody cheap!! Can’t beat that value for money there!! I’d love to come see the high country! We do plan on doing some big trips when all this is over 😊!
@@RoamLyfe Feel free to hit me up if you venture to Vic.
Are you following the Instagram? If you ever see me planning a trip down there give me a hoy!!
@@RoamLyfe Na mate. I'm a bit old school. No social media accept UA-cam.
Awesome review man i just got me a 2015 mp300 dualcab st nav 7spd auto had it for about 4 months also now and loving it fully kitted out by arb 👌🏽👌🏽 and cannot fault it by far love it
Also do u service your truck every 20,000ks? And do u get your local nissan dealer to service it for u?? Cheer man
Great news Dane! Bloody love it
Thanks man hey do u service your rig every 20,000ks? I got told by my local nissan dealer thats what happens with the mp300s? Wasnt to sure if its true or not as all my utes been service every 10,000ks its all new to me
Mate my mum's kia minivan will walk up tracks that thing will struggle on because I'm not afraid of smashing it up. You put nice headlights, grills etc and the you don't want to break it
Good review where did you get it for35
Nice to see a local makin a name for himself on youtube shoutout to sunnycoast
youve sold me bro im up in arms about what to get between the triton and the nav triton 10 year warranty is pretty good tho haha
Hey bro %100 back you on what you said I have one my self and can’t fault it I was bit silly bought stx spent extra coin but your 100% right with navara being good love your videos if you ever come to Victoria hit me up for a 4x4 sesh
I LOVE the Nav.
I LOVE your car.
WELL done.
Has this car only done 21K ????? Is that correct?
Did you change the grill ?
Thank You.
Regards.
Hey mate! Such an awesome rig! What offset with rims did you go to fit a 33 tyres? Cheers mate
16x8 with 0 offset! They do poke a bit so just be careful! You can fit 33s on no lift but it’s much better on a 2” lift!
Roam Lyfe thanks alot! Keep up the awesome work on your channel! Cheers!
Man you got the nav for a good price. Did you buy that brand new? Atm I can’t find one for less than 45k in aus. Do you think they’ll go back down to 35k post COVID? Cheers mate great video!!
Really cool build mate, I want something similar. Do you need to have extended mirrors with that canopy or can you see behind you OK?
Thank you! It’s come so far latley and I’m having a blast with it!
I can see behind okay, i did message clearview to see if they could do me a deal on some mirrors but I never heard back from them!! Would love a set tho!
@@RoamLyfe maybe hit up MSA too?
Ooo I should do!!
What year and model is this? Also really novice question are all Navs NP300s or is it a different model? New to the Navs thing props on the build looks beast.
How do you get the nice jet engine spool when driving? what makes it do that as i love that sound everytime i hear it lol
Snorkel right near the window
Hey brother, just bought me a 2020 np300 st, your vids along with others are a big inspiration why haha just wanted to know how you get about with your dpf delete knowing that it’s illegal ?does it void your insurance ?Cops ?I want to go the same route but just scared to haha
NO WAY! THIS IS WHERE I LIVE
Hahaha 🙌
How did you get it for $35000? I can’t see many below that price second hand.. am I missing something? This is a good review, appreciate you taking the time to make it!
i want one just because of the compass in the mirror :P
Haha it’s handy when you’re lost 😂😂
What exhaust are you running ? Sounds sick
Great straight talking review guys.
Thanks Ross!
Yoooo Caloundra, I think I've seen your rig, love it
That’ll be me!!
What do you drive?
Gday mate what pipe were u running. Dose it have a res or muffler cheers.
What series and engine is this mate ? Awesome rig so sexy looking at getting a new car really considering this now ! Sounds sick, and is this the twin turbo ?
Hey mate it’s a series 3 with a 2.3tt! Yes twin turbo and highly reccomend for the price!!
Hi! Just want to ask, what suspension are you using?
When’s the big rig jw99 making it into a video 🤩🤣
Keeeeeeen
Need to do a nav meet up after iso is over
Had any hassle for the dpf delete? Has it impacted your warranty?
Cool video enjoyed watching 😎
Thanks George!!
Hey mate what are your opinions on the Sl or what model would you stay away from when buying a nav
Wondered which ute you would have bought if price was not part of the equation
Have you done a DPF delete ... and a tune?
Did yours come with an actual rear diff lock or is it an open centre rear diff using an active brake limited slip diff technology. (Traction control)
It’s an actual rear diff lock, has a pin system that locks it in place! Mine stayed on once and was chirping in the car parks haha!
@@RoamLyfe Hey mate Might be a stupid question I have the same Model same year as yours, How do you activate the Diff lock ? Does it turn on once you turn off traction control? Cheers and love the channel
What turbo upgrade or engine upgrade did you make
#navlife 😈
Hoping to go from my D22 to a D23 next year 🙏🏻
Yeww can’t wait to see it!
Would like to know if it possible to modified engine / exhaust sound mimicking v8 sound? Thanks in advance
Don’t think so mate! These little motors just run really high boost so most of the noise is it screaming haha
Sweet rig mate
What exhaust are you running?
Crg dpf delete with a standard cut down exhaust
Great vid, I just bought a 2020 manual nav last weekend, still waiting on the call to come pick it up... So keen. Anyway I have a question for you, what brand and size tires are you running?
Awesome man I bet you’re keen to get it! I am running max trex 33”!
@@RoamLyfe Ahh very nice, did you end up with any fitment issues such as rubbing?
Hey mate, what would you say about the auto transmission?
2 years, 20k km....wow.... I did 60k km in 1 year on my mazda 6. I would burn a tank of fuel in a day just driving and sight seeing. to me that takes effort to have such little km on a daily.
Mate i saw your car parked 2 houses away from me and your nav sounds really loud
Agree. i didn't think much of that review ether.
Yeah Up The Fkn Nav ! 🍻
Hey dude I love the sound when you take off what do I need to do to mine is the snorkel and the 3” exhaust?
Just a dpf delete and a exhaust
Thanks dude
what about air bags going off when your 4wding ? is there any ways around that ? or has nissan thought about that and turned off air bags when your in 4wd with diff lock on 🤯
Did you buy it new or used?
Is the diff-Lock manual or Positraction?
Where are the headlights from
Single or twin turbo your Navara?
i literally live in aura
Oh sick dude! Very close!!
should probably do all weighty things first before suspension. just a hint
Yeah that’s a very good point thanks for sharing!!
Is your nav engineered on those tyres and lift?
Mate how much was your tray and where did u get it from
Hey mate! Have you tuned it after getting a exhaust system that doesn’t have a PDF?
Hey mate, it’s not tuned! CRG delete pipes don’t need a tune! Call the guys there and have a chat!
Roam Lyfe thanks mate!
