Graham and crew, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your OFF GRID episodes. They show that you can go off road without tearing up tracks and breaking vehicles, and just get out there and enjoy what our country has to offer.
Bloody nailed those chips mate. And Blair is the campsite KING. Nobody better to get spots off in NSW - Now everyone go and message him and ask for them.
@firetofork What would you know mate? You reckon you know your way around a camp cook up or something? Next thing you’ll tell me is that you’ve got your own successful UA-cam channel and cookbook. 😏
I loved this episode, so many things to be thankful for. You started with a feed at the Moonan Flat pub. The steak melts in your mouth there, and the surroundings are beautiful. Then you went over the range to Gloucester, but this is where Graeme missed a trick. He drove over the range without noticing that this is one of the few places on earth that have Temperate Rainforest meeting Subtropical rainforest. It’s super rare to see subtropical vines wrapping around alpine conifers. Apparently Kilimanjaro has a similar version, but it’s really rare. It’s good to see the Offgrid crew heading to SEQ. The sand islands are worth at least three episodes on their own…
Hey Graham and Off Grid crew. These are far the best series you have imo. Graham can you share the route you take for this video. NSW to QLD on dirt only. As we are from the West Lake Macquarie era, this is in my backyard and would love to follow the similar trails. Keep up the great episodes. Have a brewski for us. Thanks in advance. Cheers
I think they've used creative editing to make it all dirt... There is a lot of dirt tracks through there, but the bits I know and have tried to explore aren't connected without going back to the sealed roads here and there. If there is a route I'd love to see it, but I'm pretty doubtful.
Nothing beats going away with really good like minded friends. All the better for really fantastic locations. All enjoying the same thing, being relaxed, no stress, no bullshit, the scenery & 4wd & camping. Also enjoying everyone s company.
Lived in Scone for a few years when I first moved over from nz. Started watching 4WD 24/7 bought myself a Ute and never looked back. Barrington tops was always a quick getaway spot for me. Felt a bit nostalgic watching you guys drive up there
I'm very particular about vehicles, but by god I love that dmax, all the trips Graham did in it, it's journey on off grid, it's just an absolute weapon
Hi Grahame, any chance of you sharing the towns or places, directions along the way so we can also enjoy your journey... looked like an awesome trip :)
Its the only down fall about the show he never tells you where he is its all so secretive we would love to do this trip with our kids but we just cant figure out what path he took
Awesome video as always Graham, Steph and Harley. Off Grid never disappoints always some of the most epic and amazing places in Australia. Taking the path less traveled is way better than the black top. Thanks for letting us ride along with y'all on y'all's adventures.
As an American who absolutely loves this UA-cam channel, I still can't get past the fact that Graham is the spitting image of Jake from Rescuers Down Under, I mean that in the most complimentary way, it was my favorite movie as a kid!!
These OFF GRID episodes are what a lot of us here in the States really love. In spite of the hype, most of us 'overlander' types much prefer good scenery over boulder bashing every time. Keep it up guys, but don't let Au Solo go by the wayside, Graham. It's the best work you've ever done (IMO).
Tyler Thompson has loads of videos in this area. No disrespect towards 4wd247 I ❤ watching their videos. Just wanting to mention there is more UA-cam creators & Tyler Thompson is just one of them. Based in Newcastle he has hours of Barrington Tops 4x4 videos.
There was once a time when camping was great in Barrington Tops and accessible to everyone with just a basic 4wd. Now if you want to go to a great river side camp site like Junction Pools it’s only a 24km hike round trip by foot! Best camping is by access through State Forest it’s free. Do what you want just pick up your rubbish and make it great for everyone.
Living and adventure riding on the Mid North Coast, it was good to see many of the spots you mentioned 👍 You missed plenty of amazing places, but you touched on a few on my doorstep. Cheers guys 😎
Love love love Off Grid. Thank you so much for all your episodes. Just wish Off Grid was uploaded more often. You are a natural Graham, love watching you. Keep em comin. Suck the Guts Out Of Life.
It's so good to sink your teeth into a nice long episode of 4WD-24-7 when so many channels are shortening their episodes and hoping it's going to help them. Keep the episodes long always so that we can enjoy your motivating expeditions across Australia (and the USA). Feel free to plan a trip to South Africa sometime and I'm sure you have plenty of fans here.
Guys this series is next level I love 4WD 24/7 and it’s my favourite channel on UA-cam I notice the vans have Dometic DRS systems and I’m in two minds as which sort off DRS I go for powered or non powered I figure you guys would have given them a fair test - have they ever let any dust in on these trips
That little throw back to shauns 80 got me a little emotional 😢 haha, makes want to go back through your catalogue and watch some older stuff, always a treat doing that.
Rain in summer, something we know small about in the UK. We counts the days we don't get it. Love these episodes and Jock n Jesse, just got to find something for Shaun now.
spectacular episode, recently ventured up to Barrington Tops but not enough time to do more than check out the regular spots, next time I certainly need more time! Its spectacular country from Walcha to Gloucester that needs more exploration. Well done, Graham, Harley, Steph & Camera Man for showcasing this wonderful area to all of us whom like to travel off that beaten path!
Hah, way back when you guys we're 4WD action (2016). I drove the dirt trail's with a GIC off road camper trailer on the back that you guys have just done and loved every second of it. There was a ski lodge in the "Tops" way back when.
I was at the start of Barrington, running tip trucks up and down. It was cool seeing you guys come past! I was fan boy-ing a bit lol but no one else on site knew who I was talking about haha I’ll share this with them now though
THIS is the way to travel. Off that bloody M1. Went for a trip a few weeks back and thought let's just get there to meet up with our mates who were already there. I was so miserable on the M1, I had to just gtfo it. As soon as I did, hitting the curvy roads, then reaching that gravel road, I felt whole again. Damn I love driving a good road.
Thank you guy's so much for the best 4x4 action and the best commentary , commrodery and cooking 😂 you guys rock! I'm here in the states and I loved it when you guy's came over here and shares your experiences with us! Priceless!!
How bloody good is it hitting moonan flat pub for a schooner, then heading up the hill to find yahself a nice camp spot. Hope this hasn't ruined a lil gem of a spot with everyone seeing this.
Graham, I love the Off-Grid show, it's much more my pace. Owning a Daihatsu Rocky breaking parts each trip is not really an option because replacement parts don't really exist lol. They do, but not everywhere like Toyoda's. These tracks you've shown this trip, are they do-able in a Subaru Outback? We do the trek Sydney - Goldie each year to see family and would love to go the back way
Another awesome off grid! This episode really got some "want to go do this exact trip" juices flowing! Having been along Thunderbolts Way from Nabiac to Tamworth once on the way back to Qld, I'd love to get back to that area for a camp! That Mary's view! I need to see that for myself!! wow
All you have to do to the isuzu to keep it cool is an aftermarket auto cooler and pop the bonnet to increase air flow. Works wonders while towing on Fraser in soft sand also.
God I love off grid .. we all don’t mind the occasional wheel lift to get the blood pumping .. but touring and getting somewhere special is why I bought a 4wd ..
I tried to reach that falls twice and failed. But on third attempt I made it. It is one of my favourite. We hiked quite a long way (road closure due to heavy rain) in rain and went for swim in pouring rain.
Loved the episode Will give it a crack in March Just unsure what you guys did for fuel...jerry cans maybe !!!! And definitely some mapping would be very appreciated 😊
You 3 are an awesome entertainment trio. Safe travels… and keep sharing your travels and humor. 🙏 Btw Graham, Google grandfather and grandmother rock Koh Samui (one of the idyllic islands of Thailand) … I am certain you’d have your picture snapped there too 😅
Part of me really wants Graham to drop trip maps. The other part of me gets that the whole point is to wander and explore ourselves. Sadly , I don’t think many people have the time to just meander and explore
From an American living in Utah, -17 is dam cold, but for reference in the USA we get temps well below that every year. Peter Sinks in Utah had a record low temperature of -56.28 Celsius. In New Hampshire USA, on Mount Washington they had a record low of -77.77🥶🥶🥶 Love your Off Grid episodes, and sad I missed you when you were here!! I called the Bar in Moab to buy you guy's a round of beers, but liquor laws are weird here and they wouldn't let me! Cheers!
sorry mate kempsey is not the birthplace of the akubra hat. the factory in kempsey was built in 1972 but the akubra has a history back to the early1900, but Kempsey is known now as the "home" of the Akubra hat. Love the show though cant wait for next one cheers
Hire Graham, Stephen Harley. Yeah, avid watcher of your series. I hear you went past the time called Gloucester there. I actually live in Gloucester, UK. This one looks like an epic drive 😊😊
Graham, enjoying your OFFGRID so much more than the other style 4wd 24/7 as all they seem interested in is smashing and busting up their vehicles. You should split and go your own way. Cheers mate.

There is a spot you missed on the tops or even the proper start spot on Barrington tops nowadays the public can not use the track linking back up to mooni flats track but still there closed by gates im shore strings could be pulled to do the track all own by state forestry( alot of old logging machines/pullys throughout the tracks and 1/2 pieces at all camps around when seeing one at frying pan you think of it's use back then and can even connect all other machines and pullys if marked on a map)so do have to watch for log trucks and be on channel.
