LOL, a taiwan professor just made an video that one of his 2024 prediction "Indonesia will join BRICS" was wrong... well it is off by 2 week i guess, it would be a very different video if he just waited 2 day... xD it make sense i guess, the new president is just in office last year and the administration probably don't want to pigeon hole him into an arrangement before he weight the decision himself... still it is rather random to announce this before the next meeting, i am guessing it is to avoid Trump's presidency much in the same way that China launch a bunch of military equipment so it won't "excite" Trump when he is in office. it seem everyone is trying to get their stuff in to avoid unneccessary conflict with US during Trump presidency.

@QuantumChrist China only exports 18 or 19% of its industrial output. And. Indonesia still can't produce enough to fulfill its domestic needs. If anything the enormous Indonesian population will immensely benefit from more commerce with China and the rest of BRICS. As for American technology in Indonesia, it will have to compete with Chinese, Russian, Indian and Brazilian technologies. Plus Indonesia will be developing its own and proceed without ever being subjected to American sanctions.

I hope Both Mongolia and Hong Kong SAR will be admitted soon to RCEP and become member dialogue countries with ASEAN. If a real peace treaty between North and South Korea can be achieved . The Trans Euroasia railway network can reach to the Korean Peninsula.
