    I started with the pallet knife, and it has been/still is the most difficult tool to learn. When I tried a brush (fan) for some more distant mountains, I was really pleased with how they came out, since they appear softer further away. Looks like an angled shader brush or two is in my future. Great tips, as always, Wild!

      Dude - Angle Shaders and Dagger Brushes are OP for so many things. I wish I used them early.... I have a few videos coming up that show me using them more ( a little tease he he he )

    Yay! Talk about coincidences. I just bought the only dagger brush I've ever seen at Michael's earlier today.

      Ha ha ha - Perfect timing.
      Let me know how you like that brush when you get a chance to paint with it

    Really great idea! No matter how hard I try with a pallet knife I cannot make mountains, I always end up with way too much paint and a huge mess when I try to scrape it off. Brushes are so much easier, especially angled brushes.

      Angle Shaders and Daggers are so OP for new artist.
      They have so many uses and people barley talk about them or show them in use. I wanted to fix that.

      I wish I knew about this brush way sooner.
      It would have saved my a lot of struggles with so many elements in a painting 💪

    will you consider more intermediate/harder paintings in the future? Such as more detailed mountains using only a brush.

    • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  2 роки тому +1

      100%
      There are already tons of awesome artist on YT that do harder paintings BUT no one was doing simple.... So I figure I would start there, build new artist confidence up. Then we can move onto Intermediate then to hard.
      At least that is my plan

    Why does Bob use a knife to make his mountains? Cant they be made without a knife?

    • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  Рік тому

      He was pressed for time. A palette knife covers a larger area so he can make a landscape quicker.
      There are a bunch where he just uses a brush. check out the video below to see one: ua-cam.com/video/3tUCq-WyC8w/v-deo.html

    Hello there ! A little help, please. When I use the pallet knife for painting the mountains, the paint below is erased up to the canvas. It's very frustrating. Can you explain to me why is that happening ?

    • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  2 роки тому

      What do you mean by "Erased Up?" Are you talking about getting your paint to stick on? If so check out this video below:

      @@WildCreates no. Bob Ross is pushing the pallet knife. He's scraching the canvas.When I do this, the paint (the sky or the water) dislocates off the canvas. Also, the clouds are a total mess. No blending. My english is not very good. I hope you understood.

    • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  2 роки тому

      That is OK that they dislocate or get removed or pushed around. Sine the canvas is wet you can blend it all in and layer as you go.
      If you are struggling with layering and clouds be sure to take a look at this video. I am sure it will help you out a lot:
