    While the game does look good and I would love to have a game like this, I know myself and a lot of others are a little fatigued by the announcement of tactical shooters that promise the world and fall short on what they promised.
    I hope the dev team the best, but I know I won’t be getting excited until we can get an actual playable proof of concept and see how the actual gameplay is.

      Thank you.. I understand it, there are a lot of tactical shooters these days. Anyway this game is different, we had to develop a lot of tech for this game by ourselves.. its not just unreal… also we are working with special operators, with museums experts, we make our research about guns, ballistic, pmc..

      This is exactly what my intuition tells me about this game. The amount of resources spent on just the looks in the trailer gives off the feeling that the actual game mechanisms will be 'just another game with a twist not heard before'. In fact the only mechanism shown on the game is literally a copy-paste from Tarkov! However, I sure would like to be wrong about this and be amazed of the game, but personally won't buy the hype - at least not for now.

    Ironically, the issue that ultimately ends up killing extraction shooters is the PvP aspect of them. Realism is thrown out the door as the only thing most people do is to hunt other players down and in order to grief them and take all of their gear, even when you can get better gear "in the wild" off NPCs. In DMZ you can get the best gear around from NPCs and stashes in-game without ever engaging players or buy them for money earned from completing missions/tasks. It just devolved into geared teams hunting other non-geared teams down and ultimately, like Tarkov, the hackers come in and ruin what's left. The most popular version of Tarkov is actually its single-player MOD/overhaul that allows you to mod Tarkov to whatever you want it to be and gets rid of the other players. PvEvP games always end up falling flat on their face in the end because the PvP aspect of it is vastly out of whack with the PvE parts and it just devolves into a grief fest which kills the game. People get tired of getting attacked by assholes constantly because after a certain point, there's little to no risk for one group versus another. It just devolves into an African Warlord simulator where the more geared players bully the newer players just to screw with the newer/slower players. PvP centric games like Squad are better designed around this because there's no gear progression that'll give players an advantage. Everyone starts at the same time at the beginning of a round and on equal footing. It truly is skill based at that point.
    In the tactical shooter space, it's interestingly the large-scale PvE games that dominate the space. The Arma series holds consistently strong and when setup for PvP, is similar to Squad in that there's no "super loot" that'll make you vastly more powerful than anyone else that allows you to run about with reckless abandon murdering everything. What's really taken a huge hit on Tarkov was the massive influx of cheaters. We had been told for years that cheating was impossible in Tarkov and then a UA-camr shows one off and the curtains are pulled back for everyone to see. Even the Ghost Recon series holds up well and only sees player drop-off as people complete the campaigns. The most fun I have in shooters are actually the Co-Op PvE games that do not generally cater to a PvP aspect. The Arma missions can be extremely fun trying to tackle a campaign with a group of friends against the A.I. army. When I do want to play a PvP shooter, I want it a dedicated PvP shooter. Tarkov for me fell flat on its face as the cheaters got ridiculous or players geared to the gills had vastly different times to kill versus myself to where it got absurd. Those with no life who can dedicate inordinate amounts of time to play a game could become several tiers and away overpowered compared to those who don't have time to commit to the game as they do.

      I've heard from some of the devs on thier discord that thier will be more of a focus in pve, but pvp is still something you probably run into. However I do understand where your coming from, I personally am enjoying stalker gamma over stalker way more because it is single player with the elements from tarkov I like.

      Yeah people project their low attention span CoD playstyle onto any pvp shooter to have a power trip. Everybody talks about loss of gear and how punishing it is but over time certain groups of people have so much money in games like EFT they can just play carelessly and others try to play the same to keep up / have a better chance of success.
      The issue is really that if the quests / missions are not the primary focus and the pve is only "meh" the community will just start playing it like a team deathmatch shooter on a giant map, same reason most people in battle royale games don't use proper tactics but rush into the next coinflip fight to keep the action and dopamine going.

    The blood meter + coma mention is making me think of an ARMA/ACE Medical-type thing where if you lose too much blood, you'll pass out, and your buddies will either have to get more blood into your, or drag your sorry ass to the extraction point. could be an interesting way to encourage team play. Or just imagine - going it solo, getting into a bunch of scrapes. Losing a lot of blood. not quite being able to stop the bleeding. Passing out. And then waking back up at base, minus some cash but whole otherwise. (I hope you will be able to "loot" passed-out players like you can dead ones).

If DICE had made Firestorm f2p and monetized that INSTEAD of BFV’s multiplayer, I think the last half-decade of Battlefield would have been a whole lot different.

I miss that old style of game play, and if Grey Zone can give the feeling of "every bullet fired at me can impact me for the rest of my current mission", then I am 100% on board with this. There's no logical merging or collaboration. Like these two mod teams are on opposite sides of a galaxy unknown to each other. And neither side wants to make contact cause they're too proud with their project or they think that team is copying them. I honestly look at this game here and think "Did we not want to help out with Ground Branch?". I hope I explained that well and no offense intended.

    Soooo... do they have an angle on combating hacks yet?
    Guess what nags in my mind every time I think about trying tarkov again.

    To many game studios putting out half assed crap as a filler, making the players pay to do the devs work for them. It’s all a filthy money grab. Gaming companies have lost their way , and are now all about the money and not about making good quality games.

    So… how is this game different than ARMA? Open, persistent world, multi-faction PvEvP, in-depth medical system (makes me think of some popular ARMA mods for health/stamina)… see what I am getting at?

      @p4nnus Рік тому

      Probably has way less depth in ballistics, physics, no destruction etc. Done with UE assets.

    A "Wait and see." Title for me. Plenty of interesting ideas, and I also immediately thought of MAG, but the ideas and game have to be fully fleshed out and well executed before I bother. Especially when the only thing the developers are known for are crappy mobile games and the entire genre has been saturated with garbage and scams for the last few years. Not their fault, they're just going to have to prove themselves.

    "Tarkov esthetics" needs to be a thing. Lots of games aren't like tarkov in any way besides the esthetics.

    If it’s something more accessible than Tarkov I’d like to check it out. I tried so hard to get into that and it is a cool game but Jesus Christ it’s like punishing to the point that it’s not even fun, just an insane grindfest that demands all of your free time or you’re just immediately behind everyone else until the next wipe. Doesn’t help with all the hackers and exfil camping trolls.

    • @p4nnus
      @p4nnus Рік тому

      The grind that matters lasts only until youre like lvl 35, then you have unlocked anything that you actually need to compete with others. Even if you come to that point a little late from others, its not that bad. People like you love to exaggerate this part of EFT, but once youve done one wipe to full rep traders you understand that in the end its not that difficult to reach. Sure, it takes commitment to learn the game while doing that, but all the quests have been made easier and easier during the years (great example being Punisher PT6) and the grind isnt as bad as it has been at some points. Hideout makes things a lot easier too, as it allows for income without playing.

      @@p4nnus brother I have a full time job and a toddler to take care of, I’m about as casual of a player as you can get. I get maybe 2 or 3 hours of free time a week to play video games, and I’d rather not spend them having to sweat and grind as much as Tarkov requires. You can minimize it all you like, but Tarkov is a very grindy game. My point is just that the game’s not for me and I’d prefer a game with that style of gameplay that doesn’t require such a commitment.
