Thanks for sharing some information about your audition. I always remember the saying that opportunities always come to those who are prepared. Because you are good enough to have the chance to come to China and we can see your wonderful performance! Thank you for performing and making it so memorable for us.👏💙
I could see you singing Bathing Beauties. So pleased for you, When I was younger and still performing I ended up with loads of parts I wasn't the first choice for. They give you the best memories. I loved hearing Your Christine, which you posted during a lesson last year I think it was.
Did you ever find out why they called to see you again after not hearing anything the first time? Had they hired an alternate who dropped out? sorry if this is too nosy! Love having you back on UA-cam.
Olivia Holland Rose was the alternate Christine when the tour opened but left around January(?) and then they had a bit of a break in between stops. Olivia ended up covering a couple roles in Phantom in London after, so I don’t know if her contract ended in January/Feb or if she knew she’d be rejoining Phantom and so she couldn’t continue in LND. Since they needed to fill the alternate spot quickly they probably decided reach out to people who had already auditioned so they weren’t starting completely from scratch again. :)
One thing that irks me, is the way casting directors don't seem to respect that talent and time of the performers. As a performer, you are just expected to jump through so many hoops and do audition after audition. Then in one moment you go from not having a job and waiting for weeks, to bam, drop everything in your life and go on tour. There is no reason that these people can't be more communicative and efficient with their audition process. It just seems that they literally don't respect performers because they view them as replaceable.
Hope you are on an upward trajectory xx
