Would love a video on agents/agencies especially how to know whether they’re good and most importantly tips on getting one. Also websites that you would recommend for auditions without an agent :) thank you! ❤️

I feel like one for when you don’t have an agent is more needed cause I’d be willing to bet most of us don’t have agents. If you have an agent, they’re going to tell you most of this stuff 😂

Great video Georgie! I can see the hard work you put in to making content for us. Also, I would love to see a video all about Spotlight. I'm currently on the MA Musical Theatre course at the Royal Academy of Music and any advice about the industry is greatly appreciated :) keep it up!

i'm pretty new in the whole biz, but how does the process of getting to show without any experience look like? I mean i get that you need to be in Equity to e.g get some bigger West End shows but you need to start with something without having Equity, right? Do you have to look for open audition for non-equity or just have some acting classes/graduated university and it's enough to get the show

As with many jobs they never respond! So frustrating! But honestly if they like you enough to put you through all the way to a final audition they should have the decency to let you know one way or the other.

They are someone who submits you for auditions and negotiate your contracts for you and then take a percentage of your pay check (usually 10 percent) when you get the job.

0:13 OF COURSE, I'm With You On The November Christmas Jumper!🎄
    🎃It's Not Even Halloween Yet👻,
I'm Already In The Festive Mood!! I'm From South Wales, UK, Do All Britons Get In The Festive Season?🎄
🍁Let's Get Autumn/Fall🍂 And Halloween Over And Bring On The Festive Season!
(❄️Hopefully Snow, After 2020-2021 Covid We Need Snow,❄️ ☃️Let It Snow!! Let It Snow!! Let It Snow!!🌨️)
I Mean, This May Seem SUPER UNNATURAL But!....Heheh Let's Say....Your In For A Treat! (Halloween Pun, Non-Intended Lol..)
Here's A Lil' Insight To My Life When My Nan Is In The FESTIVE Mood!
So, We All Normally Get In The Christmas Mood, Sometime In November, Early December
    *Title: 🎁THE CRAZY CHRISTMAS LADY!🎅* (A.K.A My Nan!, I'm Not Discriminating/Bullying Her..The Title's A Joke, Everyone!!)
🎄1. She Sings Songs That Are Normally Sung At Christmas....12 Months A Year!! (E.g Beginning To Look A Lot Like Xmas)🎄
I'm 14 Soon! And As LONG As I Can Remember She's Sung Christmas Songs, About 12 Years Of My Life, All Year!!
Aparrently So I'm Told By Her, She's Been Singing Them All Year, Since She Was A Kid,
From the 1st Of January - 31 December..
    2. She, Looks For Christmas Decorations From About.....The 2nd Of January,
Until The Last Week Of December Like The 22nd...CRAZY I Know!
    3. She Has One Of Them Christmas Countdowns With The Cubes You Turn To Countdown,
With Different Numbers On All Sides And Each Cube Has Different Ones And There's 3,
So Cube 1. On The Left Has 1-4, Cube 2. In The Middle Has 4-8, Etc, She Keeps It Up, ALL Year!!.
    3. This Is The LAST One, Saved The Most Craziest For Last!! This Year I've Been So Sick,
I've Been In And Out Of Hospital, So Currently I Haven't Been Up There Since Late March,
This Year, It's Sad I Can't Cos She
Wouldn't Know What To Do If I Needed Hospital So I Stay Home Permenantly Unless I Have Appointments,
    But, Since About 2015-2020,
She Put Up Her Tree In.. SEPTEMBER!! Yes, You Heard Correctly,
    NOT December!!
SEPTEMBER Her Whole House Was Decked Out For Christmas With,
Lights, 2 Trees, A Wall Covered In Lights In Her Living Room,
A Red & Green Lasers In Her Living Room On Her Ceiling,
She Has A Projector In Her Garden Because She Has A Plug Socket With A Cap/Cover On It That Flips Down,
So It Won't Blow Up And Electrocute Her Cats, Or Her In The Snow, Rain, Thunder.
So, Please Tell Me If She's Over The Top,
My Mum Is COMPLETE Opposite, She Puts Her's Up First Saturday Of December And Takes It Down 26th Of December,
And It Goes In The Attic Cos It's Artifical,
We Don't Have Tinsel And Real Trees,
Only A Few Lights She Never Goes All Out,
    And Since I Can't Stay Up Nan's,
I Haven't Been Up There Since March, Her's Still Isn't Up, Neither Is Ours! *Sigh*
I Won't Get That Kinda Christmas Spirit Maybe,
I'll Never Be Able To Go Up There Which Means,
I Won't Get That Until I Go All Out When I Have My Own House In 10-11 Years.
    #ComeOnChristmasWeNeedYouAfterCovid19LastYearAndThisYear🎄

Would love to see a video of what songs are appropriate for different auditions and shows. Also I would love to see an agent video. I’m in drama school at the moment and would love to know as much as possibly to get prepared for when I leave x

Annika Wheble normally your agent will submit you to spotlight, I don't think you can join spotlight without an agent

You can join spotlight without an agent but it is difficult. Usually they will want you to have either been involved in at least four professional (but not necessarily paid productions) or have taken a full-time performance based qualification excluding GCSEs and A-levels. You no longer need to have attended A accredited school, like you Once did. In all fairness your best hope is to try and get an agent and build up from there.

Im used to the industry in New York where there are a lot of open calls and you can get away with not having an agent, is it similar in the West End? do they hold open auditions for all of the shows, or are most just agent submitted auditions?

    • @GeorgieAshford
      @GeorgieAshford  4 роки тому

Honestly there aren’t that many for musicals sadly! They should do more!!

    • @vemovasnena
      @vemovasnena 4 роки тому

@@GeorgieAshford huh, good to know. Thats interesting, because of actors equity, most broadway shows are required to hold chorus calls every 6 months, I would have thought it would be similar in the UK. Thanks for the info :)
