I completely agree, if you want it done right, you have to do it yourself. I installed a similar unit in my Alfa 155, the boot release works both via the remote and button in the cubby (glove box) which for reference is the exact same switch unit that you have. I can send you the 155 wiring diagrams, I'd say they're the same, fuse box looks the same, same console etc etc...
