Jaeger-LeCoultre, H. Moser & Cie, Hermès: My 3 Goto Watch Companies
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 тра 2023
- I like watch companies who have 3 characteristics: 1) Hi quality entry level watches; 2) Outstanding top horology and award-winning watches and 3) 'Hidden Treasures'-these are watches no longer produced-not vintage- but with good discounted prices and interesting features.
JLC has soo many incredible hidden gems. My personal favorites are the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Art Deco Salmon (beautiful hand engraved skeletonized movement, one of the best designed dials I've ever seen, perfect size, LE of 200) and the Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometre a Quantieme Lunaire Enamel (unique and beautiful movement, enamel dial)
The JLC Duometre is amazing horology Wangang... not a skeletonized fan, though. Take care, Bill
The H Moser HMC800 perpetual calendar is also an incredibly impressive movement created back in 2006 by Andreas Strehler. By far my favorite and easiest perpetual calendar to use! Additionally, Hermes is releasing later in 2023 new versions of the H08 including a mono pusher chronograph.
Thank you Michael! I knew the perpetual calendar by HMC was before Meylan took over, but I wasn't sure when, and what a surprise to hear it was by Andres Strehler! Take care, Bill
At the centre of the dial, a small security zone indicator shows red between the hours of 20:00 and 04:00 to warn the user not to adjust the time or calendar indications. Information found on the site of lecoultre
Hey Vincent, thanks man! Take care, Bill
G'morning Bill ☕☕ . Thanks for the heads up on the Hermes Dressage', I'll put that on my bucket list & look into one 🤔 . Right now I'm enjoying my Seiko 7002-700a w/ a 7020 handset & I like it a lot 🤠 .
Hi Idle Time, Seiko is too practical for a dandy like me! You're way too responsible! Take care, Bill
The red security zone on the JLC reminds you to not adjust the watch between 20:00 and 04:00, if you do, you will damage te movement! 😢
Thanks O Bud! Take care, Bill
Great finding (H. Moser Mayu)!, The name comes from Moser's wife first name. It was offered in rose and white gold plus platinum and white, black, brown and brown fume dials. NOTE: Some Mayus produced prior to 2012 may have dual hairsprings as Moser used this feature as a way to show the technology not just in the Henry.
Thanks Wiz-E-Wig! I did not know that! Take care, Bill
Great video Bill, and great timing for me. I've been researching the Hermes Dressage (date and center second) with a eye towards buying one. Since seeing this video I'm interested in the Hermes Dressage (small seconds) also.
The hunt continues!
Best regards, Brian
Good hunting, Brian. As always, negotiate the price! Take care, Bill
Very nice suggestions Doc. For JLC, my heart palpitates for the newly released Reverso Chronograph. Moser, I like the Arctic Blue Pioneer Center Seconds or the Heritage Center Seconds. I was considering the H08, and then it hit me that I can get an older gen Tonda with better finishings and the Hermès strap for the same price.
The new Chronograph is gorgeous!!! Could not agree more!
So many choices Truman! Take care, Bill
The Chrono looked amazing. It's pretty rare to get to look inside a Reverso, so that's a nice plus.
I really want to add a Moser in the next couple of years, definitely JLC is one of my favourites as well.
That Geophysic world-timer from JLC is exactly my cup of tea, Abdul. Take care, Bill
JLC and GO are my favourite watch makers. I would love to have a Moser, but I'm afraid that they are too expensive for me. Those time only watches aren't that bad, but I do like complications.
I can see why you like JLC. Excellent watches. Take care, Bill
Red security zone is a small dial in the center that turns red at 9pm-3am so you don't adjust the date from the crown. For reasons I don't know, it's during these hours that changing the date can break the watch.
Thanks of that information Daniel! Take care, Bill
10:54 - love the design
I agree Harry-the H08's a great mix of sophistication and rough & ready sport. Take care, Bill
Love JLC , own the Black Dial Doumetre , and the Gyrotourbillon. Excellent watches for the price .
It's good to have an undervalued brand that the rest of us can afford, Fern. Take care, Bill
I have two mosers, the streamliner and the Pioneer, both a lot of fun, but I wish the streamliner had a microadjustment
Hi Max! Love those Streamliners. What kind of micro adjustment? Take care, Bill
Excellent choices from these brands Dr.!
Which one are you getting Javi?🤔 Take care, Bill
good one bill! dont need them for me but great choices
I could use one of the JLC Geophysic World timers, Tim 😉 Take care, Bill
Hello Neighbor,
I hope you’re ready for Holiday weekend. Great video, it is mind boggling why JLC is underrated,,Company with such history, I wish they bring Geospheric line back… One more thing where do you find all these deals on Hermes Dresage line? I see they start $2,900 and up…. Take care!!!!
Hi Neighbor! I was just rummaging around for a Dressage and used what popped up on the Internet. You're right ... under $3,000 not $2,000 (www.ebay.com/itm/266233538849?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20201210111314%26meid%3Ddae22901ffb746798ae38a57b52e2ead%26pid%3D101195%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D124571644599%26itm%3D266233538849%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSimplAMLv11WebTrimmedV3MskuWithLambda85KnnRecallV1V4V6ItemNrtInQueryAndCassiniVisualRankerAndBertRecall%26brand%3DHERM%C8S&_trksid=p2047675.c101195.m1851&amdata=cksum%3A266233538849dae22901ffb746798ae38a57b52e2ead%7Cenc%3AAQAIAAABUA2rugFlOq3qu1cLac%252F%252Fk6Vp0Oa0HaJIqoXKeIiOR%252BTUgsSvHaeyPxKYu6UqHqq7GaGyKVqHQnjeiiXcQpMGw2t3aB%252BssGfjtIWOBj8wExc7oYYP7xGMyQCrHDyDaSaWjB1CueI3A94n0yxXX5dx5gB7R0DgF1QHcEI0TkL7zli64rB%252Bw0gkgEii%252Bm6h0FdZ4EUqpP%252B6%252Fljd%252FJnGKRGmmSL75DJtRGbaGSAasXl4lkjAFtTEWP7ZW%252FY1VjRXTUfqzX8l3T0L32YQqGjUqWlw%252FCHZE%252BGz%252BRc4Uo7AMmWmJjf16WWm%252FLXbIBEyCit0Tftcm%252B5Z7WGvExDPL%252FnIaDnDwSJNwtIkMxLy6fvcoasDFsbuAQTUw%252FRFm8TBsVJc3dvCCbf8H3o2UKYUFK3kLnvPOJIHWbhjdd9091Q1%252BWUUemiV%252FbcgEuKMqu3gHGwaVNqzJw%253D%253D%7Campid%3APL_CLK%7Cclp%3A2047675) Take care, Bill
Thanks Bill 🙏
My pleasure JJ! Take care, Bill
Hi Bill. Two thousand seems excellent money for the Hermes Dressage.
Hey Tuna ... it'd be a great watch for the Office or even a little dressy. Take care, Bill
Hi bill, when you talked abt h moser pioneer, you said you preferred 3 hz, may I ask why? Thx
This video explain AQ: ua-cam.com/video/NX9vQRC_hh4/v-deo.html Take care, Bill
Hermes is great probably when i make the money is my new watch
JLC one of the Best! Thanks Bill 😊
Yes they Frampton ... that Geophysic World Timer is on my list! Take care, Bill
Good video
Hey Frank, thanks man!! Take care, Bill
H Moser vs Parmigianni, which would you spend
Hi 9Mare for Parmigiani I'd choose one of the Toric Qualite Fleurier or Minute Rattrapante and for H. Moser one of the Heritage and one of the Streamline. Which do your like? Take care, Bill
Great choices! If my 3230 craps out I’ll dump the Rolex for that very JLC Polaris.
If your 3230 craps out, jerry-rig it to work long enough to sell it and use the money for a Polais. Take care, Bill
❤❤❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Glad you liked it Google K! Take care, Bill
My i ask where you look for preowned watches i only find the Hermès Dressage for around ±€4.000,-?
I don't O. I do look for good value, and sometimes the only ones I can afford or find are pre-owned. Take care, Bill
@@watchartsci so how do you know you can buy one for $2000,-?
@@o.3825 Simple; they're listed for sale at around that price. Have you ever looked at eBay or Chrono24? Or even in 1stDibs?
@@watchartsci thanks for youre response but dont find them for those prices. maybe it has to do that i live in EU
@@o.3825 Will have a video on Friday with more places to look.
H. Moser 👍
But of course Seaweed...Take care, Bill
thx for your slow english
You are welcome, Инструмент. Take care, Bill
Do you think the Polaris is as good as a Rolex?
Casey, as a general watch company, Jaeger-LeCoultre is far superior. Rolex excels at tool watches and marketing.😉 Take care, Bill
My Polaris gets much more wrist time compared to the one and only rolex I own. And its super comfortable with the rubber strap.
@@watchartsci thank you. I was watching a video recently where they were completely trashing the Polaris, placing it in the same category as more mass produced brands, and raving about how a submariner is way way better.
@@caseyjonesbklyn5796 I never listen to 'Herd Talk...' lots of noise with very little depth or knowledge.
Hermes entry-level watches are a quarter of the price of their entry-level women's handbags LOL Just saying...
I offered to get my wife a Hermès Kelly bag (...out of guilt), but she wasn't interested, and they can easily top the price of most watches. Take care, Bill
@@watchartsci because she wanted Birkin. Those are the IT bags to have from hermes. Women are not like us where if we want a tourbillon from a brand, we'll settle for their three hander. Women want what they want, period lol
@@almeladze 😅
Not enough contrast on the last Dressage
Find one with better contrast Anthony and send the link. Thanks! Take care, Bill
How come every youtube watch channel speaks about Hermes this week. It feels like Hermes paid sponsorship... at the same time i know that you usually picking watches that others don't comment.
Hi Maximus! That is strange. Did any of the other Chanels mention the Agenhor AGH-111-RS module module used in the Slim d'Hermès Quantieme Perpetuel? Or did everyone? Take care, Bill
@WatchArtSci hi Bill, no no you are always ahead of many other channels. but that's an interesting coïncidence.. just today at least 2.other channels. KR
