Great 3 from 3! Amazing what Tissot can put out - really taking the battle to Seiko in the entry-level. Nomos I struggle with for their design. Great movements, but the Modernist/Bauhaus influence just isn't for me. One thing worth mentioning is that their use of very (very!) long lugs makes their smaller watches pretty large. 36 plays a solid 39mm! Can you even buy a retail H Moser anymore? Market daftness aside, lovely watches, still a bit big for my taste and I could never commit to a hand-wound Perpetual!
Hi James, for years, H. Moser watches were under-appreciated because they didn't look like divers, but they've always had outstanding quality in every aspect. I was able to get my two before they've been re-discovered. Take care, Bill.
Bill, this is seriously the only watch channel one needs to watch. What are your thoughts on early Roger Dubuis? Also, will you return to the series on German independent watches?
Hi CJ, ok you're keeping me busy! I have 2 Roger Dubuis watches with RD 14 movements from the early 2000s. Both Geneva Seal, and wonderful watches. The early Easy Divers and Sympathies are gems. The current batch of RD watches, all with skeletonized dials are a mess with great movements. Take care, Bill
Great video Bill…love the H M & C lineup you put together and the Tissot PRX is a nice watch for the money … keep up the good work with the videos and livestreams..thanks
Hi Bill. I have stated it before, but on a budget, Tissot offers such an amazing choice of mechanical time pieces. On the cheaper end of the market, I really think that the likes of Seiko and Citizen should be worried. I have a pre-Powermatic PRS 516. It just works so well as an everyday watch. Of course, you get what you pay for in this world. In this respect, Moser has some beautiful offerings.
I remember that Tuna, you did indeed point out the value offered by Tissot. You don't always get what you pay for... Tissot offers more I think, as you've noted.😉 Take care, Bill
Love these watches. You're making me a Moser fan. Now I have to decide between Moser and another of your recommended pieces...Lang and Heyne. Thanks Bill.
Hi Bill, beautiful review! 👍 Tissot LeLocle line of products are always of higher quality (material chosen, hair springs, power reserve, finish, etc.) , always worthwhile 👌, a chronometer version of this watch is also available(didn’t have time to see if it’s a high beat) The open heart was opened up to see the hair spring & the most working parts of the heart of the movement ! Tissot do not touch the ETA 2892, it’s left to Longines, yet they have done a watch in the past with the Peseux, try to figure that one out ? 😵💫 The others are 👌❤️👍but not for my wallet 😵💫😢 but admire the quality of them 🥰 Take care, John
Hey John, my favorite Tissot is still the Heritage Petite Seconde...with the Unitas/ETA 6498-1 movement; running at 2.5 Hz (18,000 so/hr)-that's the same frequency as the $100,000 H. Moser Perpetual Calendar. Take care, Bill
Great video Bill, I couldn't have summed it better. I really think these 3 represent the best in their respective categories. I love Nomos, and will definitely try to own a Moser in the near future, aftr we finish up with our own watch :D Have a great weekend Bill :) Cheers, Abdul
Thanks Abdul! Speaking of 'special watches' ... lots of news for Sunday! Getting all of my ducks in a row for the final piece of the puzzle! Take care, Bill.
Joyce I just ordered a Nomos Tetra based entirely on what I’ve learned from you! I would have preferred one of their other movements from a more advanced horological standpoint and the fact that I really like their minimal GMT design, but the Tetra 27 suits my slightly under 6 inch wrist much better. Besides, I really like the square design (a bit of pizzazz) 3 Hz, excellent build and accuracy aspects, quality at a reasonable price +. Surprised they say allow 6 months for delivery !!!
@@watchartsci I’m Joyce Wangerin. Snorkelsnot an embarrassing nickname so I identified myself as my real self. I’ve been drawn into your videos more and more - not a collector (yet anyway) but born out of appreciation for “the art and science” as you say after inheriting a few good old watches.
Hi Bill As usual great stuff from you. Love the breakdown of the watches from different price range. The Moser is just magnificent I am waiting for the arrival of the Pioneer Perpetual MD.
My Grand Seiko AD sells Nomos and I find their various watches intriguing value propositions. While I have not yet popped for one, the 38 mm Club with the orange California dial and the hand wound Alpha movement looks as if it would be a great informal timepiece.
Hey Howard! That orange Nomos Club has a smooth combination of the California dial, orange & cream that works on many levels for me ... it's got fun written all over it.😃 Take care, Bill
I love my NOMOS Club Datum hand wind 38.5mm Mine has the cream dial with black and orange hands and display back. Interestingly enough the date has no quick set.
Hi Bill ! Great watch choices as always, I have the Le Loche with a black dial and the Nomos Ludwig 38mm. And I've grown to love the long lugs, I think the design emphasis is on just the watch itself. And I have "dreams of H Moser & Cie " 👌 Thanks for the review ❤️
Do you have any data on the magnetic resistant of watches of different antimagnetic methods (ie, ferrous hairspring enclosed in soft iron cage vs niobium based vs silicon).
I agree Seaweed, and while they only make a couple thousand a year, they sell some 50,000 plus hairsprings ... titanium & niobium non-magnetic gems. Take care, Bill
Thank you very much Bill for the reply. Wow, the double hairspring does wonder. That is excellent accuracy. My Pioneer Centre Second runs +6 sec per day. I don’t think it is double hairspring, however. Congratulations on the Endeavour, it’s a beautiful piece. Cheers,
@@hunterphan5506 Your watch is a real gem. I was browsing a few, and all of them are priced over MSRP. The HMC200 is an automatic and my Endeavour and Henry are hand-wound watches. I don't know if that would make a difference or not. Take care, Bill
Hi Bill, long time. Bought myself a Nomos 4 months back. Within a month from the 1st one, I bought another one then another one and then another one! Now I have two hand wound & two automatic Nomos. I find the bauhaus design very unique and interesting. Or is it the after effect of Covid-19 getting into my head?😅 H. Moser & Cie is still a dream to be realised.
Thanks Mad Steve! The music was created for me at Abbey Road Studios in London, and the video in The Netherlands. Very fortunate to run into the right people who were creative. Take care, Bill.
How would you like to loan your brother a few bucks to pick up that blue Moser Heritage watch? I can pay you back at $100 per month. All kidding aside, nice presentation Bill. I’m starting to like the Tissot watches more and more. Maybe I’ll pick one of those up and start saving up for a Moser.
Steve, don't overlook the Tissot Heritage Petite Seconde... Unitas/ETA 6498-1 movement with a high class 18,000 mph.(Great prices on the secondary market... check out Jomashop 😉Take care Bro...
I have a sweet spot for Nomos. Inexpensive, independent and fully in-house. You can't get that packaging with any other brand. Edit: I forgot to say. For Tissot, the LeLocle is and was the best seller. A lot of people seem to love that design.
@@watchartsci thanks 😁. You are very genuine in your presentation and the love for watches truly shines. This video is a prime example, showcasing watches from 550 to 90k.
