The original Bioshock had a lot of chilling scenes. Meeting Andrew Ryan, Sander Cohen, the 'light side' ending, finding out why you're there. The ending of Bioshock Infinite is just an expansion on that mythos.

That whole game gave me chills, the first time you see rapture, the first time you see a big daddy, "would you kindly?" That game was so amazing.
And the ends of both, the girls around him in bed before he dies and the daughters drowning him at the end of the second.

You'd have to realize that whatculture is a very mediocre website with mediocre articles and thus this channel. Their atrociously over designed websites and fancy logos show that they only have one showy group of designers while content writers sleep their way through to the end of the day and only wake up to find some obscure article online that they can rip off of.
MGS is fucking amazing. Same goes for ME. They're great games with moments that are impactful unlike most games today. They have brilliant plots and cutscenes nailing the chills feel.

Ohhh yes. That was so freakin awesomely awful.... I wish so badly that I could relive it. But it's just not doable. I mean I can replay the game... but knowing... you're just not going to get that back... the experience of that transition from before you knew to after.... EVERYTHING changes. After that, it's a different game.
Bioshock is my all time favorite game series, infinite had a lot of potential but it was still ok. But the first and second games really have a lot of replay value imo.

Honestly.. Most of the game gave me chills, the beautiful world but yet it was all destroyed by the cordecyps fungus, walking through empty towns, finding diaries, notes etc, walking through empty neighborhoods, looking through empty houses knowing people once lived here.. Most of the game gave me chills as it just hit home as an American exploring through post apocalyptic USA..

Yes! The only time i actually had watering eyes the second time I'd watched a video game scene. The ending of The Last of Us is also one of the greatest moments in a video game.

The beggining of the Last of Us. Personally, I didn't look anything up on the game when I first got it on its release. All I knew was it was about a girl and a man. I began to think that his daughter was that girl, until she was killed in cold bold.

And what about the ending when Joel lies to Ellie or when Joel find Ellie beating the shit out of Davids face with his own machete and he hugs her the sound turns to music and the scene cuts off to the machete still in Davids face. Very powerful
The dlc was pretty amazing too
That was pretty chilling, Brendan. It was scary to see how she hacked David to pieces. The guy was a piece of shit, and got what he deserved. However, the way she continued to unleash on him after he was already dead, stressed how all the misery she suffered during the journey and through her whole life was taking a toll on her psychological health. It took Joel to finally bring under control. It was his paternal instincts kicking in that saved Ellie from herself. A powerful scene indeed.

One of the most horrific and devastating scenes in Videogame history. The realization that you're responsible for the agonizing deaths of so many civilians when you're mission is to protect them and rescue survivors. Extremely powerful and gut-wrenching scene. One of the most under appreciated and underrated games of last gen.

Exiting Vault 101 into the wasteland in Fallout 3. The light of the sun blinds you, and slowly, your vision comes to, revealing a vast, dead wasteland before you. Beautiful.
What about halo 3 right when spark decides to attack Johnson and so you kill spark to save Johnson and chief says I'm gonna get you out of here and he says no you're not, and then says send me out with a bang and then dies like a tragic hero
What about basically all of Halo 3?
The whole final fight with Spark was awesome. Especially the dialogue with Chief and Spark right after Spark shoots Johnson

That line gives me chills.
The best moment in Halo that really gave me chills was in Reach when Jorge sacrificed himself to blow up the cruiser, only to have hundreds more jump out of hyperspace a moments after. The feeling of victory immediately went away, we thought we won, but it was only the beginning. The other best moment was the introduction of the Flood in Combat Evolved, you knew there was something wrong when you started the level, you just didn't know what, then you find the massacred bodies and the video footage, that was pretty terrifying the first time I came across it.

When Ryan used those words to force you to kill him, chills become outright horror. I had no control, but it fit perfectly. I had conditioned myself to follow along to each goal, and then I could not stop because why would I? Even after he was dead, I thought it was over and the Atlas/Fontaine used me once more...and what could I do to stop it?
Also the third bio shock when your throwing apples at the black chick

For me it was the b light ending in The Force Awakens. When he sacrifices himself against the emperor to save the others. That music, the slow walking, that scream, it gave me chills.

All that happens in that scene if you find out how powerful Songbird is, and then you have a weird dream where Elizabeth is talking about the debt and you don't want to give her up. More importantly, YOU DIDN'T PICK THE ENDING?! That ending was so damn good I had it spoiled for me and it still hit me like a freight train!
Two moments from the MGS series that gave me chills. Then entire scene of Psycho Mantis from MGS 1 and Big Boss's return in MGS 4
The part that gave me chills in MGS4 was when you entered the Shadow Moses base. You know, the part when that masterpiece of a song started playing and you got extreme nostalgia followed by Snake having flashbacks...
White Phosphorous scene in Spec Ops: The Line?
Yes, that scene was the hardest thing I've ever had to see in a game. The mother and child have been literally burned into my memory. The best part about it is that it makes you feel guilty for doing something you supposedly had no choice in, when you did have a choice, you could stop playing the game. That moment is probably the single best moment I've had in gaming.
Agreed, i'd just like to add that the game made you walk through the chaos you have wrought... really hammered home the 'you did this' aspect of the scene.

So many mentions of this in the comments section. Just shows how underrated and overlooked this game was on release. What starts off as a regular by-the-numbers shooter, becomes something far more cerebral as it progresses. I really can't fault the game in any way.

assassins creed revelations when yusuf died and the mission that followed. you feel sad for the death of yusuf, ezio gives a powerfull speech that makes you want revenge. the mission that follows is pure chaos and revenge. gave me chills

There is forever a black spot on my life thanks to that scene, I don't think there was ever a game that I hated to see 2 characters die more than Ghost and Roach being betrayed but I would not say that is my number 1.

The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
First and any time you look at the landscape in that game.
The music, leaving the sewers and just finding yourself standing was fantastic.
+wedlock94 that moment for me was amazing because i didnt really know what the elder scrolls was or what it was famous for. Whenever i left those sewers it dawned on me that i could literally go and do whatever i want.
TES:Skryim, first time you look out over everything from that giant ass mountain on the way to the monks to learn to yell at things. Hell, DA:I, when you come over the mountain and there's Skyhold, this giant f'in castle everyone just forgot.
I haven't played any of these games, but the Chillest moment i remember was the first time i stepped into Ravenholm in Half Life 2.
Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core ending cutscene. Just the feels... the feels man.
Either the giraffe scene from last of us or the scene where you're running for your life with Ellie in your arms. I truly had goosebumps playing because I had never been attached to two characters so much.

Blowing up Megaton in Fallout 3 is stupid beyond all reason. The game doesn't explain the motivations for the characters involved to be doing it in absolutely any way whatsoever, it's literally a scene they scripted in because "explosions are cool". It completely banalizes nuclear weapons which elsewhere throughout this series always carry some actual weight and meaningfulness on their appearances.
Wasn't the only motivation that Tenpenny thought it was an eyesore from the view of his tower and thought it should be destroyed because he's a dickhead?

I always liked the Bioshock endings, but the cutscene with Andrew Ryan before the games final stretch was incredible.
Two games gave me the chills first time I played them years ago. Halo CE: Combat Evolved when you stumble upon the Flood for the first time while looking for Captain Keyes and the second was FFVII when you escape from your prison cell in the Shinra building and see the guards that were guarding you a few minutes ago all dead and the ominous music plays.
Two events in video games I'll never forget.
Death of Crono in Chrono Trigger. First time a game ever gave me chills or just made me feel any real emotion at all. It was so sudden and unexpected, you just didn't see characters in games at the time, let alone the main character, die like that.
And his ressurection on the death peak, i even have a t-shirt with that momment on it ´xD

I agree, the video itself is very ok (but doesn't include most of my top picks) I think, but the comment is just delivered too fast. It feels odd to bring forth this critique because this is seldomly a problem.

The sad thing is this video is about game moments that gave you the chill but the fast speaking of his virtually makes it impossible to deliver any feelings whatsoever which kinda ruins this (apart from that) really good and interesting video.
MGS3 was my favorite and mann was that final battle ending hard to hold the emotion XD Greatest game ever played. On MGS 4 I had that nostalgic hyped up feeling while fighting liquid in the end, going through all of the different themes and HUD changes as you fought. When it got to the MGS 3 part, that's when I started kicking Liquids ass with the Snake Eater theme. (My favorite one) One hell of an end MGS 4 had especially when playing on one of the harder difficulties. Absolutely Legendary...
One of my favorite moment in a game is when you at the end of the game Trespasser (Jurassic Park) are klimbing to the top of the mountain to be rescued. You suddenly get an amazing wiew with a nice soundtrack.

Gears of War is the best game franchise hands down. The creator of this video is heavily biased towards MGS (which is a load of tripe in comparison to Gears of War)

one of my biggest chill moments came in Skyrim, shortly after the first mission, seeing the beautiful world of Skyrim for the first time. nightfall came and the stars came out and it was astonishing. Good scenery in gaming always gives me chills.
Chopper's death in Ace Combat 5 hit me hard and your emotional high while finishing the mission was terrific.

Omfg yes I'll be honest I just stared at my screen for like 10 minutes just saying what the fuck over and over like what did I just do then I ended up pushing through the campaign especially after loan dies T-T
I felt like shit for a week after playing that game realising i had just killed hundreds of civilians in a terrible, agonizing, and slow death. This as well as the alternate ending to the game.
Honestly this entire list was filled with the least chilling moments in gaming. A chilling moment to me has to be shocking, capable of being terrifying, or at least have terrifying implications, possibly anger inducing, and most of all it has to leave you motionless and speechless, with the words, "what the fuck" playing over and over in your head.

I've played all up to 4. They are just like any other fps except it took them about 4 game to figure out how to sprint and aim down the sight when not using a sniper. $60 for an average game isn't worth it when they will milk you out of more money for REQ points anyway. For $60 I could buy enough bleach to fill a bath tub, bath in it, then drink myself to death and still have change for the cost of the ambulance fee of picking me up.
