Sorry for the slow reply, for updating maps you have to plug it into a computer and use Garmin connect so I imagine you need to do the same for uploading a new map like Europe to the 830.
Is the battery of Garmin Edge 830 replaceable? If so, then from where should I buy the battery, what should be the specification of the replacement battery and how do I replace the existing battery ?

Thank you. Exciting, you’re correct you can set it up using a smartphone. The quickest and easiest way is to download the strava routes connect iq app onto the garmin, you can do this on the Garmin connect app on your phone, into more, connect iq store, download and install on your garmin. Then you’ll be able to access your strava routes straight from the garmin. Hope that explains it, ask me you need anymore help. Enjoy your new edge
I personally did but then my 510 touchscreen was dodgy so was become very annoying to use. Even with a functional touchscreen I probably still would have upgraded, much nicer screen and interface, plus having proper maps is great for routes. Let me know if you have any questions about it
I recently purchased a Garmin Edge 830 - first purchase of a Garmin product. My display seems blur, in particular the the large text/characters in the main menu with white background. Annoying, a bit uncomfortable but not dramatic. I don't know if this is a defect or if I am used to better screen in general (i.e. iPhone). Are you experiencing the same?
I mean you're right, it's no where near the quality of a smartphone screen but I don't find mine to be blurred or uncomfortable to read. Is there anyone you know who has one to compare it to or a shop?
How does the account name and personnel data work? Can the Account name be edited to suit, or does it work of Google account when you down load the app? Also, Is personnel data at risk of being displayed? Maybe I'm looking for a more detailed video for account set-up?

I'm not able to make my edge830 give me a sound warning when I follow a selected course and I have to get into another street. I think he does make a sound but is too silent. He's connected to samsung A50 cellphone and when I go to audio in garmin connect and to the warning volume ans push the button , it just starts turning when I think it should get blue colour. Can You please help?
I’m had a Garmin 530 but sold it to try Wahoo Elemnt Bolt, I prefer Garmin and going to switch back again was looking at another 530 but this looks a lot better, how’s it performing still and is there any touchscreen issues with gloves on and screen scrolling on the fly. Thanks . Great video .
It really depends on if you want a touchscreen, sounds like you've been using bike computers without one so you could go back to a 530 and save yourself some money. Personally though I prefer touchscreens and luckily this one is far better than previous Garmin ones, no issues so far. Slightly more difficult to use with gloves or in the rain but I think that's to be expected, still works just fine. Hope that helps
Just purchased an 830 and connected to iPhone as well. Just curious if you have noticed that phone notifications that show on the device all work, except for text messages. They do not show up on the 830. If you know of any fix for this, I would be interested. I've tried everything, unpairing, repairing, etc. Both the device and my phone are updated and current on software versions. Thanks!
Here's Garmin's guide on setting up notifications: support.garmin.com/en-IE/?faq=9eQTyZMCJ91qPgPCVKhiW6 I personally only have text notifications, but have seen people say they have issues even with selected apps turned on. Apparently switching the toggle on and off a few times kicks the system into working. Hope this helps, let me know if it doesn't.

Trailforks in my area is missing quite a bit and a little unreliable. I have my entire trail network mapped in gpx. Can I upload my entire trail system to the 830 and use that?
I personally don’t know, I don’t use the trailforks integration, so I’m afraid I can’t really help you with this one. If any does hopefully they will comment to help your answer.
Just to let you know there was an update from 3.50 to 4.10. Showed up when I restarted it, so just double check yours when you set one up.
yes i am up grading from a 510 to a 830, i like the touchscreen but its the battery life thats the big thing to me!

When updating the maps on it does it need the Garmin express to do so. Meaning does need to connect to pc via usb cable to update maps .
Yes you need to connect it to a computer to update the maps, only found this out recently 😅

There is no setting page for it. Garmin say you need to connect to your phone or GPS and it will grab the time and date from there

How do you setup so that old ride history is synced ?
When your phone is connected it should sync, otherwise through wifi or when you plug it into a computer with Garmin connect

Have you checked the tone settings on the Garmin itself?
