Lol, all of the ik multimedia hardware I’ve bought over the years , including the blueboard have turned into garbage in the long run, I’ll never by any more hardware from them.
total crap support - following their firmware upgrade toasted my blueboard - buy kit from companies that support their hardware and understand customer service - sh!t attitude
My BlueBoard works in OnSong, JamUp and BIAS FX2
It's a shame that IK Multimedia does not update the app. I used to use the Blueboard for years and it was always working great.
Does it still work with the latest iPads?
I just solved my BlueBoard from not being recognized in AmpliTube. This is on my my iPad, I opened the BlueBoard ap and went into search for the pedal, then turned the pedal power on right after and it showed up. Clicked on it and worked right away again in AmpliTube.
Hi, just to let you know my BlueBoard works fine with Bias fx2 on my iPad Pro and iPhone, I think it’s a problem with fx2 as it won’t read the Bluetooth signal after fx2 has been closed even though it remembers all the settings, so you have to re assign them (hopefully they can fix that) the original Bias fx works fine and remembers everything, cheers
IK Is crappy anyway. Bought the AXE I/O with Amplitube MAXX and all the fixings. Less than 6 months later they come out with Amplitube 5, which, suprisingly is a full price upgrade for all previous amplitube 4 users! Had I known, I would have waited.
The iRig Blue Turn page turner manufactured by IK Multimedia is pitched
as a quality unit sold at a premium price. It is therefore extremely
disappointing that my unit failed at the outset. Straight out the box,
the unit's blue status led failed to light and other than an initial
flicker from the foot switches, the device was completely inoperative.
Following a number of unsuccessful exchanges with the manufacturer's
representative Ariel C, the matter remains unresolved. I would advise
that potential buyers choose a device from a supplier who has a
reputation for reliable products and good customer care.
Solution: go to garage band > settings > advance > Bluetooth midi device and connect it. Now that you’re connected you can pair it with any app. The issue is that Apple doesn’t let you connect midi devices directly with its normal Bluetooth but you can connect it through an app and that lets you use it in other apps.
Except Quantiloop.
?? My GarageBand doesn't even have "Bluetooth Midi Device" under advanced...is this Mac or iOS?
Is it possible to connect several BlueBoards to one iPad and use each one to control a different app?
Only good people apologize, sometimes for things they didn't do, that's your case
It does work in current iOS, but You don’t need the Blueboard app anyway. Boot it while pressing „C“ and connect with MIDI BLE driver. It will send cc controllers then and also allow press / release control. The rest should be operable in the apps you actually want to control.
this explains why Im having issues 😡😡😡 I didnt buy it from your recommendation so no worries
I was able to get mine working again I explain it in the video called “The iRig BlueBoard Is Working Thanks To Y'all's Comments!”
I had the same problem, couldn't update ....... then tried it on a old windows 8 laptop it worked (the updated firmware) looks like win 10 and MacOS never made it to the update table.
Hi Joel I do have the blueboard and mine updated 2 days ago by apple... I have it working with Bias FX2 Mobile but only changing patches... the bank change doesnt work... Dont be too sad bud, I like your videos and dont stop doing them
Hello Richie !!! How do I update it through Apple ? My Blueboard is only six months old and does not have a USB port for updates.
@@mishmael1 Hey the blueboard is from ikmultimedia and you have install the app from them or on the app store
Positive Grid released an update 4 days ago and it is now completely fine. No need to find a new midi controller!
really?
@@AndreasJMuller Yeah I didn’t need to do anything in program change mode, it just worked, even bank changing. My expression pedal also now works but you do need to use midi learn for that because you pedals did number changes with the bank you’re in. I know that control change works because before the update I was using it to change the preset but I had to use midi learn.
i use ipad mini 2. with the new update on ios 12.4.8 i had the same problem. it doesnt work on ibassist, partialy work on funk drummer. i never tried it with dream foot. so i dont know if it works in there.
Recommendation, don’t post a video if you are not completely sure of it’s veracity, Blueboard works fine as of august 2022, cheers! 😊
not for me how did you get it to work with Macbook?
@@lydialundgren8379 not working on my ipad either
Hi Joel,
I am on iPadOS 14 Beta 3 and the iRig BlueBoard does work perfectly with Overloud THU!
I was not able to make it work with Bias FX 2. Even not when using AUM and routing the MIDI to Bias FX 2. And when I start Bias FX 1 it immediately crashes - the only program that behaves that way 🤬 So, Positive Grid seems to be the problem here (again) ...
No, the issue’s IK not creating updates compatible with iPads newer than yours AND current iOS. Case in point: the BlueBoard worked fine w/my iPad Air (gen 1), but once I updated to a 4th-gen Air all the connectivity issues he mentions here became a sad reality for me. Unfortunately IK Multimedia’s notorious for creating hardware they suddenly stop updating/making firmware updates for over time like their Stealth pedal & StealthPlug, in favor of investing time in their latest gear releases.
I’m having problems with Bias FX2 and the BlueBoard too. Tried playing around with it last night. I press the pads, and it’s like a gamble. Sometimes the patch/bank changes. Sometimes it does nothing. Completely unreliable.
Have you tried the BlueBoard with Bias FX 1? Mine is still working there...for now 🙄
Mine was working with Bias 1 at first, then it just stopped working completely a little while after.
Don’t trip bro .. it’s all good..at least we all know ..
thank you
Chaz 🎸🎷🎶
You might have a look at the Harley Benton MP-100 or MP-500 as well.
Joel, don’t beat yourself up over this. You have been incredibly helpful with the content you provide. IK can have quality control issues ( I have.....and will be getting rid of the irig I stomp) but the iOS update stuff seems to affect all types of devices. As good as it sounds, iOS can be fickle, but it’s so much fun. This is what I will be doing. Buy the apogee jam + (per you recommendation), forgo any controller that might hiccup due to an update, use my boss gt1 for all effects ( wah, pitch shifting, volume, vibe, etc.) that work prior to the bias fx 2 mobile, put the iPad on a stand and scroll through banks, patches, and scenes with my finger. The Boss GT 1’s weaknesses are bias fx2 strengths. Boss gt1/ Zoom g1x four, both can be battery powered. So if you wanted to just bring one of those units to a gig where power is an issue, your set. Leave the iPad at home. I’m not saying the Boss sounds like a helix, it does not. But , it is small and highly functional.
Thanks man, That sounds like a great set up!
wish i saw this 2 days ago. just got mine today
Mine works on the newest version of iOS , with fix 2 mobile
I got mine working too, actually have a video about getting mine to work again... should probably take this one down lol
Ok, so does it not work with the latest iPads or the latest version of Amplitube? I'm thinking of buyting one.
Yes the BlueBoard works with iPads and iPhone. But I don’t think you could use multiple BlueBoards. I would recommend looking at the midi commander, or what I’ve been using the xtone pro. I think both of those devices will give you a better experience.
I’d check out another manufacturer’s Bluetooth controller before investing money & time with this IK bomb, this won’t work right with latest iPads/iPhones far as connectivity since they quit creating firmware updates a few years ago.
@@JoelDodge do midi commander and xtone need different software from amplitude or does it use it as well? Thanks
Does it work with Mac Big Sur?
I actually got it to work with my iPad now, I think it works with Big Sur but I haven’t tried it
Joel, why don’t use the “AUM” app? I use Bias with extern effects (nembrini, eventide, etc) on AUM. I use midi control in AUM perfectly...
I just haven’t wanted to spend time figuring it out... lol But I’ve been hearing so many good things about it I need to try it soon!
