I subscribe to roughly a gazillion yachting channels, give or take a few. So I don’t know why I only stumbled on yours yesterday. Now I’m happily binge-watching it and getting a big charge out of getting to know your beautiful family and, especially, your remarkable offspring. I love their enthusiasm and their fearlessness and the cheerful way they pitch in to help with the sailing and the boat work. They make a great crew.
Good afternoon, one of many Malcolm's family followers here, welcome to my country, I enjoyed the tour Malcolm published today and wish you the very best, remember Costa Rica will be here if you ever need us. Malcolm and his family have earned our love and so have you.
Can’t wait to see all your adventures in your new boat. It’s great how you’re instilling work ethic in your kids at such an early age. Great kids, great family. Thank you for sharing!

Hi from northern Ontario, Canada. Great video! I'm a new subscriber and I've watched a few of your videos and I liked all of them. You are living the dream of many people!!! But I wonder, you must be very rich to be able to do this. I am in my sixties and retired. When I was your age I was the father of a family of five. I can assure you that I know how difficult it is to provide for your family when you are the only bread winner. There is NO way I would have been able to afford to do anything remotely close what you are living! In fact my wife and I had to wait to our 30th wedding anniversary to take our first real trip, which was a seven day cruise. I truly envy (in a good way) you being able to spend so much time with your kids! I wish I could have too, but I was too busy working to support my family. That is why I believe you really need to be very rich to be able to live your lifestyle. I am truly glad for you that you can. By the way ALL your kids are SO adorable!
@@alexjohnson896 I cannot relate to a $400k house! Only rich people can afford such an expensive house. To place my perception into context, I paid $57k for my house in 1985. Even today I wouldn’t be able to afford a $400k house.
Thank you for your kind words Daniel. We are still working to bring in an income and keep food in the bellies. We have made choices as we’ve gone which have led to us being able to even consider this lifestyle. We also realise we are in a a very privileged position and we are grateful every day. I’m so glad you have been able to provide for your family and to take you wife on a special 30th wedding anniversary cruise - congratulations on making 30 years! All the best 😊
@@sailingwithsix Thank you for your reply!!! My wife and I celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary this year. We took a second vacation, which was a 12 day transatlantic cruise in early March 2020. We had planned an 18 day, three country tour of Europe. Unfortunately we had been in Paris less than 2 days when the prime minister of Canada recalled all travelers because of COVID. Our travel agent had to scramble to get us last minute airplane tickets back to Canada. So we never got to have our one-in-a-lifetime European vacation. But it was God's will, and we have to submit to His will, and hope that one day we still have the health and money, and the opportunity to return to Europe. In the meantime I will live vicariously through your adventures. Thank you for your channel and your videos!!!
Enjoyed the episode. A stark looking environment is Penasco. Loved all the the different colourful places you slept. Well done team. A trail that triumphed in the end . ❤️👌🙏🏻
We love it! We look at other boats and visit friends boats but always come back to Happy Days grateful for the boat we get to call home. Yes, air conditioning works but when we're on anchor with a sea breeze we hardly need it.
Great Video, I'm glad you finally were able to close and get into your new boat, even if it was on the hard. I'm looking forward to seeing all your adventures. Cheers from Texas...
We love watching you guys continuing your amazing adventures. Thankyou for sharing and allowing us to enjoy it with you. Paul and Leonie "Spirit Chaser" DownUnder Go East Rally 2019
Hi Chris and Shona, Yes we are still sailing amid Covid problems. We have Spirit Chaser at Mooloolaba. However since leaving the Banks Islands in Vanuatu we have been costal sailing only. Last year we only got as far as Lady Musgrave Island but that was an experience in itself - a 20 hectare island 40 NM off shore surrounded by a very large lagoon full of turtles will still lots of fun. We look forward to each instalment of your adventures and admire what you are doing and what you have achieved so far. Watching Bella, Finn Archie and Pippa growing and becoming more adventurous is just a delight. We are confirmed viewers. Leonie and Paul.
A most enjoyable sailing adventure, (on land this time). A new, used boat. Let's do this. P.S., a great family to following on and off the water. Stay groovy and stay safe.
I hope to get a sailboat someday. But, I didn't know it could be such a hassle. Hope you got a great deal on your boat and get many years of service out of it.
Add me as a new subscriber, nice to see any family enjoy the Beauty and nature of this world, this Earth school. 2022 should be a very interesting year.
Came across your channel recently and have been rewatching all your videos, your adventures seem very fun :) What camera do ye use for underwater videoing?
Hi!!! I want to know wich papers you need or proccess you have to do in order to sail internationally? I want to do something similar with some friends.
It usually depends which country you start in. But most countries require boat information like country of registration, make, model etc. The boat gets a ‘visa’ of its own much like the people. Some countries are more strict with biosecurity measures and then normal ‘people paperwork’ you would usually do when coming in to an airport - passports checked by immigration, customs etc.
Why hasn't it been updated yet? I look forward to sharing your happy and interesting life. . . Speed up your update frequency. Waiting. . . . A great blessing to you!
@@sailingwithsix Thank you for your reply. Maintain your own speed. Enjoy your life. I will patiently wait for your video update. God bless you. Happy New Year. 😀
so i have a question, i’m 16 and my dream is to own a catamaran and sail with friends and family. my biggest question that’s always on my mind is what job i should have? do i work online? how do i sail and see the world and still get money to live
That’s amazing that at 16 you already have such an incredible dream! If you can do a job where you can work online then you could travel and work (there’s loads of ideas out there) even better if it’s your own business! You can also work and save until you feel you have enough to buy the boat and live sustainably for a number of years before returning to a ‘land job’ again. Or by the boat and work odd jobs along the way. There is no set way to do it but keep pursuing your dream 😍
Hey great question! We use a group work approach for all subjects except maths. So we teach them together with different expectations on each child depending what level they are at. Currently using Gather ‘Round homeschool curriculum. Then each child has individual maths books based on their age and ability. We also supplement with different online activities when we have decent internet 😊
We arranged an independent survey and sea trial while still in Fiji which made us much more comfortable to commit to the vessel and start the journey to get to the boat.
I love watching your channel, and I mean no disrespect. But I wish you would cut your boys hair so I can tell them from the girls, it's so confusing to an old fool like me.......BTW you have a beautiful family! ! ! ! !
What I don’t understand is if you can afford to buy a cat you should be able to pay your way round the world Really it wouldn’t mater what you buy mono or a cat there more Ausies getting on the patron pay roll I don’t know why you don’t sign up for the dole
Did you forget hair brushes.? Looks like the abused children I’ve cared for over my lifetime. They either have heads shaved or look like your kids. Doesn’t look good on film that we all are watching. Ugh!
