I’d say definitely keep showing picking up plastic and trash, only would offend people that are putting it there to begin with. You both are so much fun to watch, entertaining and keeping it real.
Yeah I vote to keep as much as your comfortable in these vlogs. Picking up trash may only be a snippet but it raises awareness and hopefully others who don’t, will start too. I think content wise, I’ve seen a lot of UA-camrs struggle overtime because they think they have to keep topping content and providing more of what they think people want to see. But I think people lose sight of the fact that you guys simply become the content people come for. Not in a pressured creepy way. Yes sailing, (or whatever core channel theme a channel has) but lifestyle in general covers a lot. People love to chill and watch cool people doing cool shit. It makes me happy seeing guys living this way. Seeing you guys live your life the way you do is interesting to those of us stuck in ‘traditional’ lifestyles. It’s an escape. But as us viewers get to you know you through what you and other channels share, there’s an appreciation for just virtually chilling with ya! Whatever that entails. YEEEEW!
Yeah Mike, we second that! From our own experiences watching YT and other vlogging platforms, we find ourselves returning to the channels that we feel connected too ~ through their personalities, the relationship with the people they're sailing with and the value they provide. We hope to create the same environment here, with subs who feel like mates! Super grateful for your comment, Aaron. Thanks for dropping by
Some nice learning experiences there 👍, far better to touch bottom the day before haul out than the day after you go back in the water. I hope you can blaze through the haul out and be back in the water soon 🤞 (hardstand time is $$$)
We agree! It was comforting to us knowing that we were hauling out the next day. We've learned many valuable lessons along the way, many more to come we're sure. Thanks for the comment!
Well that was certainly exciting. Your fist grounding. I haven't skipped ahead to see how long you're on the hard. Fingers crossed. Proud parents indeed. 🙂
Hey kids, welcome to the gc and shallow bank's and stink boats throwing huge wakes! A handy tip when you hit bottom is to push your boom out and hang off it or sit on it, making the boat heel and motor off, also you'll need a shipload of bushman's at steinglitz! Try and source your materials at coomera as it's cheaper, horizon shores tav does great meals, cheers thanks for sharing
Hey Ben, bloody oath all great recommendations and things we've figured out from our time there. Next time (and god forbid) we're on a bank, I'll be experimenting with your suggestion. Cheers
Hello again, yes include it, the world needs to see and know. I did the same as you at each place picked up what was visible. And in some places many boaters got together for a general clean up followed by a beach gathering together. Love you videos very much. Enjoy your adventure...
One of the cardinal rules of travel, camping, or boating. Leave the places you've been or stayed at cleaner than when you found it. So good on you both.
You guys are funny. Nice work on the garbage content. Not nearly as boring as drone footage or snorkelling montages, and the comedy bits are good value. I heaps love a cruiser and some tomatoes on a beach but I’d never leave my trash. Next time you hit a sand bar remember that you can reduce your draft by heeling the boat. There are many ways to get off, all very specific to the individual conditions, but you should be able to get yourselves off without paying for it, of sandbars. Kedging with a halyard lifting up your anchor line is a good one for some pulling and heeling action at the same time. Thank you for the quality videos and good luck on your adventures!
Hi interbloom, great to see another good sailing channel from Oz. 🤘🇳🇿🌈 how great is Our Country. Keep it Real, raw and natural. So nice love u too mum. Im suprised they didn't lift her when u got the survey.
Cheers, our friend! When we bought her, it was rightttt at the beginning of all the covid restrictions with crossing borders. The boat was slipped for the survey report...we just couldn't get up there to see it. So it was very exciting for us to see it in the flesh!
Really cool how the tender folds up. And interesting to learn there is a rescue service that can help with things like getting stuck on a sand bar. These are the things about living and sailing a large boat that are interesting to learn. It would be great if you can include that sort of stuff in your videos (I mentioned this on your first vid). Extremely sad that people cannot clean up after themselves. Great that you highlighted the problem. If everybody ignores it, then it continues (and is likely to get worse).
Unreal, can tell you both excelled in creative writing. All good and well being able to film and edit, but putting together a completely compelling and exciting narrative from said footage is so hard. Incredible. Can't wait for the next one!
Sleeper you mad man, we’re so happy to have you here. Your comments and presence is so appreciated! By some chance, Phoebe got the English award at graduation (while having the lowest attendance level in her grade). Josh also excelled, but mostly due to his mum completing his assignments for him. He learned more from her than he did from school because he had to sit with her as she wrote it 😂
Wow, what a cleaver underwater clip of paddling the tender. Glad you called for help and got clear of the bottom. Hope all goes to plan in the dry dock. Looking forward to the next sailing. Grow Sonia!
No surf pics from tos. Good to see Sonia growing up. No poos on the dashboard mat anymore lol. So good to see you showing everyone fxxks up on sand bars. Can't wait to watch the next video
Josh scored at tos but we don’t have equipment for surf shots. Missing the surf now we’re a bit further north. No poos on the dash, but if we had a dash she’d be pooin on it 😂
You guys are awesome! and yey to you picking up the trash, I walked one time from Belongil to main beach in Byron and found and filled two shopping bags with trash! I think it's great thing to include in your videos just a little bit of conscious b roll!
You video came up on my feed, and at 14:57, I can see my boat in the back ground while your getting lifted (white flybridge cruiser with the tender on the bow ) enjoy your stay
Great vlog guys, keep it real! You will find more and more trash as you head north and what we have done is gather as much as possible and light a fire to burn as it is impossible on a small yacht to store and dispose of . Good on you guys, remember slow and steady to take in whatever you can along the day! Love it!
Thanks for the comment, Tony! We've heard this from other yachtys too, we've been trying to work out the best way for us to manage the rubbish we find when bins aren't available - as 35ft doesn't allow for much space for rubbish...not comfortably anyway. We appreciate the tip! :)
Hey guys, my cousin and I passed you in my boat while you were anchored outside the entrance to Horizon Shores. Josh's head popped up and we waved as we passed. Loving your videos and looking forward to following your journey. I am heading north myself so might see you in an anchorage from time to time. There are so many beautiful spots in Moreton Bay for you to enjoy when you get there. Safe travels🤙
I just became a subscriber...like your vids....thankyou for picking up rubbish.please film the rubbish as too teach others to pick up rubbish..you're greatest example to others sho please I kept holding my breath thinking pick it up pick it up n over in over lol..im glad you said you picked it up...
Yes you guys are about 150 years younger than me but I'm a fan. Will be buying my first yacht soon at age 60. Some great blues music you have happening there too. Can't wait too see what you get up to next.✌
Just looking at your anchor scope looking very short and shallow for a 35 ft sailboat. no spring line on the anchor chain to keep the chain noise and took off the winless
I would say, showing you doing part of the process of cleaning it up would be fine. I don’t know if I would wanna watch 10 or 15 minutes of it but yeah highlighted a little bit I think that would be perfect. Oh I’m talking about cleaning up the beaches yes
Next time you run aground (because no-one doesn't touch), if you use a haliad on a tender to pull the mast over then the yacht engine can drive you forward.
You guys will do great on UA-cam keep it up, some one might tell you hopefully that shot blasting your hull is the best way to go, it sort of roughins the steel surface so your paint will have something to anchor to, using a wire brush will to clean the hull will reduce the chance for the paint to stick to
Just a suggestion, invest in good quality UV Sun glasses, firstly for eye protection(had 13 stitches for skin cancer very close to my eye) and you will be able to see the shallow depths in the water as you move around.
Hey you two! ... new here, YT suggested you, have watched all of your vids to date and love your attitudes and the exclusion of the drama thing, rather the "there are just solutions" making you problem solvers rather than being on the slippery slope of doom and gloom .... Yes show the picking up of plastic and placing in bin, maybe speed those segments up sometimes. But never belittle the fact that you are picking up. There is a stigma about picking garbage and those that see you doing it may be swayed to also join in. I am in the camp of plastic is a good thing, the problem is where it goes after use of which the first step is disposing of properly and not doing the I am finished with it, hand opens and it is dropped and no longer my concern attitude. Don't get me wrong, this goes for all garbage and the "you take it in, you take it out" is paramount. .... lucky Dude getting a pedi .... Like having my feet touched, not sure if this has some relation to the pressure points in our feet that are used in reflexology. Foot massages are also way cool .... may want to look into how to connect hashtags to your vids, all about driving traffic .... thx for the share Phoebe & Josh .. as always .. never stop dreaming, ust dream bigger .. have fin be safe, save our ocean .... Have done the suby, likey, Belly, Thingy ....
Great video!! Keep picking up plastic. I feel the same. Are you guys still on the hard at Horizon shores? I live on board there and will give you a day's free labour
Hey Paul, thank you SO much for that amazing offer. We would have taken you up on that if we were still there. Shame we missed you, but if you're still around the next time we slip we'll get in touch :)
There is so much trash and it seems to be so widely distributed that it got me thinking with the result that it occurred to me to ask is this all domestically produced or could there be another source in addition to ourselves? This led me to the only other source that I can think of at the moment viz. offshore shipping? There is a continuous convoy of international shipping running up and down our Eastern Seaboard and is anyone keeping a sharp eye on it? That would have to be a high intensity operation so I doubt it. So this probably leaves us reliant on the goodwill of overseas shipping companies...hmmn.
Haha, love the look at the end of the pedicure scene. Being festival goers, I'm taking the name innerbloom comes from Rufus du sol? Lovin the vids by the way, keep doing what you'se are doing.
Hey Willy! Yes you're totally right ~ Innerbloom holds a very special place in our hearts, the song of our story - our opus so far. It's also a hommage to Aussies and Aussie artists. We listened to Rufus Du Sol back when they were still Rufus. Super stoked you vibe with it too. Big love!
Wonder why I keep running into so many Aussie sailors? You guys are Great! I've seen that dinghy before and it's got more minus points then positive in my book. Good starter but save $ for future upgrade! My 2 cents 🖖😊
There's heaps of us around! It's heartwarming for us to see :) We actually love our Portabote! We had a poly tender previously which didn't serve us well. The portabote folds up into a single plank which can be easily stowed by the handrails, so it doesn't take up too much with the limited deck space we have. It's also incredibly buoyant and durable - we did a grocery run with over 40kg of groceries, 2 fold up bikes, the body weight of both of us and our outboard in a strong southerly with lots of chop, and it managed really well. Pro's and con's for most tenders, but for as long as we're on this boat we're going to have something that takes up minimal space. And we love our sugar scoop so davits aren't an option. Thanks for your comment, mate! We always appreciate input from viewers :)
Hey Josh! Chris’ dad here from Farrer. Happened across your channel while researching my own passage plan up to the Whitsundays. Hope to see you there sometime soon. Are you still longboarding? Great videos-keep them coming! Say hi to your folks. Cheers, Rohan
This dinghy has ticked allll the boxes for our requirements: takes up minimal space, very buoyant and light, can be dragged over oysters and rocks etc. It's called a Portabote - we'll share a little more about it in future videos
@@Thenewkidsonthedock The same boat Troy and Pascale used. And seemed to do the trick for them also. I plan on getting the same as soon as I acquire a vessel and do the free range sailing like troy and Pascale did, they were my favorite and most watched Sailing channel. Maybe you's will take over where they left off until I can get on the water?
Hey Chris! Sonya lives tank-free in this little sailboat. Our old Beardie, Vicky, who passed from old age also lived in this boat tank-free for 2 years. They both loved it and it's incredible to see how different their mannerism and behaviour is being free range compared to living in a tank. We make sure Sonya gets regular and consistent sun for UVA and UVB, she also has a heat mat that runs off the 2000W inverter. Glass was a dead set no go for a sailboat, so we're happy that she's happy with this arrangement. Have you got a reptile?
As a old sea farrer I say YES show the world what a little can do running on sand is no problem with steel ( thats why I have one as well ) and there is two things I hate BLOODY JETSKI and fool with TO MUCH MONEY ( We call them STINK BOATS )
IMO if you don't show the plastic pollution when you see it, then you're not giving us the authentic experience. It might not be pleasant to see but it's the real deal, not sanitised. Also ... there is nothing wrong with showing video of you getting a pedi from your lover. It's kinda romantic. I'm really enjoying this adventure, please keep it coming 😁
I would make sure to occasionally show yourselves picking trash, but not make it a 2-3 minutes per episode thing. I think Josh should start cutting 1/2 inch off his hair per episode and let your fans Comment on when he should stop cutting. lol
Yep we agree re: rubbish. Keep it super minimal, but consistent. After working fulltime for 8 years, Josh is finally letting his hair grow out and free...much like his spirit! We'll both need a chop soon though
Sure i dont see why you cant put some of the cleanup you do. Your right alot of watchers wont want to watch a video doing all that so maybe add couple minutes here and there when ever you find the need.
No problem with the environmental comments and showing the rubbish was/is a good play. People should be shamed for it. Maybe tone down the Australian centric insults though, and the digs at men. Creating rubbish isn't unique to Australians, nor men. I know it's in our culture to put shit on each other, your audience may well become global though. Hopefully you'll get to leave Australian waters one day, and when you do you'll realise you're amongst one of the cleanest and most environmentally conscious cultures and people on earth already. Don't take this negatively, you're doing great!
Hello! She has a very diverse diet: heavy on the dark leafy greens, herbs and weeds. Fruit, carrot and sweet potato occasionally. We gut load crickets and freeze them, and Josh catches fresh insects on the regular for her when we’re on land - things like grasshoppers and cockroaches. Her favourite flavour of the week is apple 😍

Love your work. Great humour. Picking up trash is cool. I do it where I find it. Love your message and action.

How's the rudder? Yikes!
Rudder fared well! It sits much higher than the keel, which copped most of the bank. We're just grateful it was before the haul out and not after!
How do you power your terrarium?
As a old sea farrer I say YES show the world what a little can do
running on sand is no problem with steel ( thats why I have one as well ) and there is two things I hate BLOODY JETSKI and fool with TO MUCH MONEY ( We call them STINK BOATS )
Aye aye, Rusty! Striking a chord with us. We love our steely as much as we love dodging stinkers. Thanks for your comment!
soo much peeps calling themselves "sailors" throw their shit allover the place, they are the true trash. great video!
That would be Cabbage Tree Point.
2:34 👏
We like that shot too 😁
Wow the lady on here is drop dead gorgeous
Also to be transparent, show whenever you dump your waste water offshore.
Yes absolutely! We have a shot of this in our second video ~ passage from Tweed to Southport
So there where 1-one-sanbank in the "sea" and it was NOT MARKT on the map? (Draft)?.......Realy?
👍😊
There are two kinds of sailors: those who have run aground, and liars.
the truth will set you free! ;)
Touched! They touch ground.
Sorry you should ask a paint expert or someone that has worked on steel hulls, I myself have worked most of my life on offshore barges and vessels
This girl needs to be a mother!
🍻👍🌮🙏🏻
We must be GOOD custodians of the planet, me and my girl do the same thing. Most of our trash is other people's. It's a shame😢
Love your show, but not the bad language.
Probably the most used word in everyday life of Australians and/or Sailors lexicon.
To edit or not to edit, that is the question.
Sonya needs a boyfriend. For company only, of course.....lol
Hi what does Sonia eat please??? **( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡° )**
Her favourite flavour of the week is apple
😍
I'm a old bloke, i,e old fashioned. Don't like your langwij. Unsubbing.😮😮😮
our mothers could never catch us to wash our mouths out, so now we've developed this dirty habit...it's a good thing we became sailors ;) cheers, mate
@@Thenewkidsonthedock I like this response so much I subbed.
What!?😮u got out your hole to eat roots and leave thank ya mother for the rabbits
The name Wally obviously fits perfectly.
@@davidharlem6824 I don't like the way the smartarse younger generations have zero respect for ANYBODY older and more experienced than them. You are a perfect example of a knowall kid who knows effall about life.
