Two years later and this is still one of my favorite restorations on this channel
If you can't use the screen you can plug in a USB mouse with a adapter and use the mouse
would be useful to test some things before fixing it to make sure it will work

@@takemo_ no all i did was plug in my otg adapter and old 2 button mouse into my tablet and i saved all my files from it and put them on my sd card (the screen is broken so im going to sell that tablet to get a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4)

it's just not worth fixing it for them and the customer as they charge labour+parts
labor costs and the cost for new parts will cost more than what the phone is worth.
When you're too used to working on iPhones and forget not every company is corrupt.

What on earth was that repair store doing if they couldn't do this - phone repair!?

When they say it's un-repairable, they actually mean that it is not cost effective to repair it.
Since Hugh didn't account for the labour he put in this, it might be 60 dollars (and a nice video) for him, but for a shop, it's like loosing money.
Hugh is talking shit, repair shop would of said that it costs same price to get a new one or better option just to upgrade
It was my local repair shop, they are horrendously bad at repairs with use of low quality parts and they cut corners wherever they can. Had someone with a iPhone 6s come to me after they had just charged the LCD and home button. The home button didn't have its gasket so was moving loosely around so the cable would likely break within a new weeks. it had a lose screw floating inside and didn't have the water resistant seal installed. So I am guessing they didn't know how to repair the LG G6 or just couldn't be bothered.

Little trick: Use a usb to usb-c OTG adapter and attach a mouse to navigate through cracked screens

If you ever want to test an Android phone with out the touch screen you can use a otg cable and plug a mouse in it will act as the touch screen
Or you use a PC program to see the screen of your phone on it

I just performed a motherboard swap on my LG v30. First phone I ever repaired! 1 hour of pure terror right there.
Use b7000 adhesive instead of the double sided tape
This. It stays forever and also works as a gasket to prevent dust and a bit of water. When I used double sided tape it would always start lifting after a couple months.

I love these videos. The before and after is amazing. IRS like a totally different phone.
In cases of display not working you can use a muouse through an OTG cable to check the functionality.
Please use T8000 & Tesa tape rather than that awful double sided tape you're using next time. Much better finish.

Yes, for me starting off by buying broken iphones and restoring them was the way to go. Still doing it, but if you want to start off, start it with an old iphone or android phone and make sure that you are able to fix phones, use high quality parts and all that. Good luck!

It also requires skill. Take this for example. I know how to work woth apple devices. But when it comes to samsung and lg. I had to learn how to take them apart and put them back toghether. And also do you think you might do videos on repairing phones???
Minecraft bro51 yes as the iphones are always built the same way with the screen coming off first, the only iphone that didnt have it was the iphone 4s and before. With modern android devices it is a little harder to open up but the insides are alot easier to work with than an iPhone.

The G6 sadly was underspec'd for the year it was released since they didnt wait for the 835 to come out. Also its battery life is pretty subpar compared to other offerings like the S8. I loved my G4 but everything else sense has been kind of a let down when I looked into going back to LG.
Actually it was Samsung fault a out the CPU, they got all the 835s, forcing LG to use the SD 821 instead, otherwise it wouldn't have been released on schedule.

I got an LG G6 from my friend for 20$ about half a year ago, it has a slightly cracked screen and the headphone jack doesn't work, but otherwise it's a good phone.
I got one on ebay some months ago with a cracked screen that's barely noticeable under use for $50
