This was ONLY VIDEO that has my product as he covers every step CLEARLY yet fast AF! Super Thanks wish me luck. Since I've popped the lid off I'm trying to disconnect the male insert that connects part and I don't see a clip, I guess I had to 'pop' it off. And when that set is done I'll be ready to order the part which was a little hard to find, had to Google it because Amazon didn't seem to have it, then when googled it- Amazon had it after all but I guess they didn't know it? It cost $70 to $100 dollar just to have someone come LOOK at the washer- before any repair is even negotiated- which seems EXTREMELY unfair.

Not at all. I’m not in appliance repair. But an a business owner/tech for a different industry.
But with what you said it’s a $75-100 fee for someone to just come “Look”.
There’s the issue of. We do have other people on schedule with problems that need repairs also. That are also waiting for us.
So say it takes 25 minutes to get out to you. An another 30 minutes to figure out what’s going on an what’s needed.
And to get the price worked up for the part a labor an all.
Than say the customer changes their mind. Little more than they thought. Or after finding out from a qualified person that does it for a living. Now they know for sure what it is is the problem.
They decide to be like “well it’s a little more than I thought it will be”. An I’m gonna hold off a just go to the laundromat for the time being.
Just for them to know what it is. A jump on Amazon or something like that. To attempt to do it themselves.
Or any excuse to not go through with the fix.
Now as a business owner/tech. I now have an atleast an hour an a half. Before I even reach my next customers house after that complete waste of time.
Yet I have all normal bills to pay. Just like the normal home owner. Mortgage, insurance vehicle payments phone lights water ect ect ect.
An on top of that. I have a million dollar policy of insurance for the business. Tools a things needed to be able to function as as a business an preform any of the said jobs ect.
Taxes to pay. Wear a tare on the vehicle. Insurance for that vehicle ect.
An a bunch of other stuff in the mix. That isn’t making any money for me.
By running to jobs to find out what’s wrong for someone to back out of. Or just want someone to check it out.
When I could have been at a paying job. An already gotten it done just in the same time I put in at the waisted one. An already been on the way to the next.
Not being paid by the hour havin given pay. Time is money. A theirs alota things that has to be paid. Before money makes it past the operational fees to make it to taking care of my home and family.
So yeah I get what ya saying trust. But nothing is free.
Now if I have someone that’s really close to me. I may cut them a trip break because of that.
I also spend a little while on the phone. A get the customer to tell me what they see as an issue. An tell them things they can check themselves for me for what their saying is going on.
To most of the time figure it out without even needing to go. Than I can just show up with what I know is bad a change it an go.
But to not charge to come out an diagnose, a problem is completely foolish.

I need to replace the door lid switch for this same Frigidaire washing machine. I can't remove the wires that are attached to the switch. In the video you already show it out of the switch, so I was wondering how you removed it? I've tried pulling on it, even with pliers, and it doesn't budge...

You have to wiggle the connection off it is tricky and make sure u do not break the wires
Pliers.might help but be very carefull n gentle.

I was about to tie a rope around the lid then tie the rope to my truck bumper to get it off.
Luckily, my wife found this video on you tube before I did that.

Dude you ain't gotta do none of that.. all I had to do is open lid reach under it's right there...and pull it out . Carefully by twisting till you can get it off or squeeze the edges with a flat head to pop it down ... either way you don't need to take anything apart..that is the easiest switch to fix on any washer dryer combo.

i just replaced mine and it still isn't sensing anything or working. is it the control panel its connected to now or what?

    • @JohnSmithoriginal1

@@jessicabrantly8708 let me tell you something.... This freaking combo unit is a nightmare..it still gives me problems. So now the trick I did was to connect the lid sensor as if it is closed...and I leave it like that all the time and just let the lid rest lop sided a little closed or I just leave the lid fully open..it doesn't matter. . ..and what's happens is then I can do a wash ..but I have to set it correctly and not interfere with it. Not even press a button... Or a few seconds later that red light will start blinking. .. if that is something your farmilar with... In order for me to get that red light off ...I have to unplug the washer combo unit . And then wait a few seconds then plug it back in ... while I have the settings on off.. no wash..ect. then once I turn it back on I set it directly to where I want then hit start ... without touching anything else. ...so that is how mine works.. in fact I just shut off the breaker to my combo unit and flick it back on ...so I don't have to reach back behind the Combo unit...it's much easier that way...as for the lid.. if you...can pop off the top of the machine pretty easy with a flat head screwdriver..and replace that switch. Which I did but realized that it doesn't work still and actually will lock the lid closed... So that is why I rigged mine to just stay open now. Cause there is no choice...last thing you want if for that lid to lock on you then it might not disengage after..which was very annoying.. clearly this machine was a dud when they made it and has Mother board issues.

@@JohnSmithoriginal1 damn. i'm still having problems. the dryer keeps breaking and i told them it is bc the ventilation is shit. the inlet thermal fuse just went and the heating elements keep burning up. so I cleaned my side of it but they don't even know where it goes out of our house! how? theres 4 apartments mines a top one. bad idea. anyway i installed the door lock and theres this red light that continuously blinks above the washer near the other panel and when i first got it it only blinked when in use. the dryer. the washer usually is okay but now its squeaking sounds like singing bowls haha it stopped doing it though it did it for 2 weeks then now it isn't. how is that possible? did i randomly fix the belt or barrings? lol add me on fb for more entertainment. this machine is horrible, big. but bigger isn't always better haha. it is the motion of the ocean. .
